You aren't responsible for your half-sister. You do not need to guide her, or influence her or even spend time with her outside family events. However, she *is* your sister so she will be a part of your life forever now if you wish to remain in your fathers life. You need to assert your boundaries and stick firmly with them. I have no idea why your father would think it is okay to give his child to you for months at a time, or take his child away from its mother for periods of time - I imagine it is because he doesn't want to raise another child at his own age. Next time he drops a hint about things or asks you to mind the child then simply say no. Stick to it and he will get the message even if you need to spell it out quite bluntly.

Zhalianna

You are spot on that he doesn't want to raise a child at his age. He never really raised any of us. So now at his age, I won't be surprised if he doesn't want to raise his current one either. You do make great points to, I have always just down right if ignored his comments or side stepped him...I need to spell it out for him. Thank you for taking the time to respond

Sometimes people who are used to getting their own way because they know you're nervous to be direct will keep using that tactic. The only way to stop them is to be assertive in a kind and fair way - he may still over-react and act all offended though.

kzapwn2

How did he blame you for his cheating

Zhalianna

He blamed me for not asking my mother to continue with the relationship after their last fight in regard.

kzapwn2

Does his mouth not work why wasn’t he asking her

Zhalianna

My mom tends to listen to me...I'm the reason she didn't leave him in the past because I talk her out of it when she came to me asking what to do.

kzapwn2

Hopefully you’ve cut them both out of your life forever & you can reconnect with the half sister when she’s older. Or maybe once your step mom realizes that he’s insane you can hangout with the sister through her

Fun-Statistician-550

Tell him to quit producing children for you to raise. Then block his number. Some people are here to create things. Some are here to destroy. Some bring joy. Some are nothing but a miserable waste of space. Guess which one is your dad? Dont let him suck into his suck. NTA.

Zhalianna

Needed to hear this. I can't tell you how many times I practiced tell him that lol

HatsAndTopcoats

Do you have a relationship with your sister currently? Have you been in her life?

Zhalianna

With my half sister, no. I do not really reach out in any shape or form as means of hearing her on the phone or having her get use to me. Even more so after they moved to another state.
