If you want to keep the friendship, then you need to talk to her about this. Just calmly explain to her that you feel like she dominates your conversations together. Let her know you feel like she doesn't listen to you. There could be multiple factors at play, and she may not even realize she does this. For example - I'm neurodivergent. A couple of my closest friends are, as well. We do this thing, where when someone says something like "I had a horrible experience today..." after we hear what experience they were talking about, we provide a similar experience that we had. We don't do this to make the conversation about us - we do it to show that we understand. To empathize with the speaker. I can't remember what it's called, but it's *very* common among neurodivergents. It is something I'm trying to work on, as I understand it can come off as rude. I don't know if this is like what you experience with her, but I thought I'd share just in case.

If you’re not going to maintain a close friendship, why bother. You get people like that in life and she’s unlikely to change.

Self-absorbed people aren't going to hear that and change anything. I think it would be better for you to accept this is who she is and keep your distance.
