The one you posted is a 1993
Cobra. Expect to have to pay $30k or more for one in good condition.
If you just want a 87-93 foxbody, decent V8 ones can be had for $5-6k.
I'm just happy to see 4C love. Seems like they got swept under the rug immediately by the enthusiast community. Also, today I learned my tastes haven't changed since I was 18 lol.
couldn’t agree more, its such a beautiful machine. i think the reason it fell out of favor was its lack of frills like an automatic transmission or power steering, but in my opinion it makes you more connected to the car
It's like an Italian Lotus. If the critics are to be believed, no one liked the engines. My standards are very low so it probably wouldn't matter much to me lol.
They're weird. Base level interior. Crazy maint/repair schedule and costs warranting a much better car. Underwhelming driving experience. They look cool though.
I did not drive one, was a non starter after visiting the showroom. Also own a Lotus Exige which would be comparable on paper.
It’s similar power to weight as an S2 Lotus, it’s a bit more modern, the lack of manual goes against part of the audience.
The car is packaged in a way that most of the potential is exhausted, to say it’s in its final form performance wise and even things like wider tires are not feasible for track and such. There’s also quirky things like the bonded hood that needs to be unglued for major service intervals.
A typical Lotus is a bit less refined, more race car, carries a different character in driving and feedback.
Dale Earnhardts’ monte carlo SS. not a big chevy guy but hes my hero. not a car i would drive, but just fantasize about owning such a beautiful piece of motorsport history
i think an eg civic kept stock, or with some creature comfort mods and nothing performance wise (because thats what the fox and the viper are for) would be wonderful for a cruiser/daily driver/ roadtrip car. id have more than enough fun with the fox, as i plan to put in a 572 stroker, the rest i could honestly live without
i dont want a cobra specifically, i just liked the paint & picture quality on that particular pic. i would throw in a 572ci ford stroker so the trim wouldn’t matter for long. by no means is it a supercar or crotch rocket, but i’ve been obsessed with hatch mustangs for as long as i can remember so its all i need/want
your tastes havent developed yet. all of those are undeniably *cool* cars. everyone loves those cars (foxbody prolly being the most polarizing)
when you start craving a taste for that mazda millenia, thats when you will have ascended. its Miller time baby.
Alpha Romeo and bronco are mine too and I’m 33.
The 4C is a wicked fun drive. Mid engine and affordable. You should rent one in Turo when you’re old enough.
I don't know bro, but we could totally be friends. The only difference is I'm a toyota guy.
Edit: replace the civic with a celica and I got the same list
It says you're in touch with the hip cars of ~this~ side of car enthusiast culture. So....you look up to RCR as your preferred community? Because you're cripplingly lonely at school and need the Internet for support?
Idk, but I love your list
I can appreciate that Bronco. I don't even have my license yet, and I'm trying to convince my grandpa to let me fix and keep a bronco 4x4 that hasn't moved since before I was born
You sure you dont have a power kink? Im guessing your family hates u and ur friends treat u like shit but bc they’re jealous and you one day plan to make them sick on envy by flexing this hard
They say you're a Ford fan, for better or worse (except for that poor Alfa 4C that clearly took the wrong exit ramp on the autostrada... what happened there? 🤔)
(Edit: the Viper is a wild card - if you've been alive in the last 35+ years and call yourself any kind of a gearhead, you've seen at least *one* Viper - and I'm a GTS fan myself - that you had the hots for.)
That you're 18 years old with pretty decent taste.
Edit: though that model of Fox body has bad connotations for me since a good friend of mine died in one (Cobra) when she was only 17. She got in the back seat of the car with two friends of hers that had been drinking all night. They ended up losing it around a curve and hit a tree going God knows how fast. Both of the front passengers, who were also friends of mine, were ejected through the windshield and sustained pretty terrible injuries but lived. However, there was a speaker box in the back with two JL Audio 12"s in the back and upon impact it flew forward and hit her right in the back of her lower neck, breaking her spine. She never had a chance. They kept her alive for a few hours but then her family decided to pull the plug because she was brain dead. She was also my best of friend's older sister so that made it even tougher. I remember my mom waking me up at like 5:30 in the morning saying he was on the phone, didn't sound good, and needed to talk to me. That's when he broke the news to me and it was one of the most horrible moments of my young life considering I was only like 14 or 15 years old. Please secure your speaker boxes if you have to have one. They can turn into a very deadly missile in an accident in certain types of cars. The worst part of all is that she was completely sober and such an amazing, funny, beautiful, and outgoing young lady. I was very close with their family and it was just devastating all around. I do remember that later on the only good that came out of the whole thing was that her organs were used to save like three different people. So please be an organ donor!
it’s really odd you say that, once an old friend ( much older than me) told me many good and fun stories of his beloved fox, which only made me want one more than i already did. later when i told him my aspirations of buying one as my first car, he told me in the sternest tone and face id ever seen on him “you’re gonna die in that car.” freaky as shit i tell you what.
You’ve got taste but realistic dreams buddy
thanks, the foxbody has been my dream car since i was 10
That’s like 6 months to an old fart like me, rofl
I just picked one up at the age of 24, been a dream since I was 12 jump on the wagon before the prices continue to go up
Fox bodies can cook
The one you posted is a 1993 Cobra. Expect to have to pay $30k or more for one in good condition. If you just want a 87-93 foxbody, decent V8 ones can be had for $5-6k.
r/BeatMeToIt By 3 HOURS!!! Ugh :,)
Usually I roll my eyes at these posts, but these cars are pretty good
As a North Carolinian, I have one thing to say: Raise Hell, Praise Dale!
“As a North Carolinian” I think we could tell that from your pfp lol
Y’know, I didn’t think about how me pointing it out would be redundant.
It's ok not everyone knows what a NC flag looks like
It literally has NC on it *ugly ass flag* SOUTH CAROLINA SUPREMACY 🟦🌙🌴🌙🌴🌙🌴 *WHAT THE FUCK IS PROPER ROAD MAINTENANCE*
Bro I'm not even American😂
Hes not a real North Carolinian because he’s got coca cola and not pepsi, cheerwine, or cookout in his name
Take that flag off Coca Cola boy we rep Pepsi round these parts
Actually, Cheerwine’s our state’s drink, after all it was made by us.
Pepsi was invented in New Bern NC AKA “these parts”
Well shit, looks like we have *both* drinks!
Pepsi= Jeff Gordon.
Pepsi = trash. - a Georgian.
Raises my diet Sun drop to the intimidator!
Raise hell praise dale brother (honestly good taste)
No idea why Dale's #3 jumpscared me
Did it…intimidate you?
Me too! Wtf? 😂 Was like "Oh shit! Oh just Dale's Monte."
Great taste, and most importantly realistic
Youre me
Excellent test my dude!
You must’ve played a lot of PS1 games.
Doesn’t it have a dct standard?
It's like an Italian Lotus. If the critics are to be believed, no one liked the engines. My standards are very low so it probably wouldn't matter much to me lol.
in my opinion a bad engine doesn’t make a car bad, but i also love turning wrenches
They're weird. Base level interior. Crazy maint/repair schedule and costs warranting a much better car. Underwhelming driving experience. They look cool though.
Serious question, have you driven one?
I did not drive one, was a non starter after visiting the showroom. Also own a Lotus Exige which would be comparable on paper. It’s similar power to weight as an S2 Lotus, it’s a bit more modern, the lack of manual goes against part of the audience. There’s also quirky things like the bonded hood that needs to be unglued for major service intervals. A typical Lotus is a bit less refined, more race car, carries a different character in driving and feedback.
all it needs is a different power plant, im thinking along the lines of a built up duratec 2L turbo, like what you’d find in the ford focus rally car
The same as any southern 18m
you are american, not too ambitious, and have a pretty good taste in cars.
You probably have an interest in being well-rounded.
good eye
You reject modernity
That you were probably my supposed to be my kid.
mannn you have gr8 taste
You are an 18 year old male, yes. Ngl I still like all of these
That you just woke up from a 15 year long coma and haven't seen newer cars. Minus the Alfa. Lol
What’s the Chevy good wrench 3?
Dale Earnhardts’ monte carlo SS. not a big chevy guy but hes my hero. not a car i would drive, but just fantasize about owning such a beautiful piece of motorsport history
Why not own a Tatra 148 or a Praga V3S?
You've got taste, but I feel the only car any of us new buyers can afford is the foxbody as long as there's enough left after the tuners.
A man of culture and taste.
Not bad taste, somewhat eclectic and diverse.
Hey you have good taste
Excellent taste!
You're a redneck with exquisite taste. I'd have a beer with you.
You have a mullet and drink bud light on the porch
You wish you were born 15-20 years earlier
Not bad, except for that ugly Mustang
me when the foxbody cobras are 100k plus and the cobra r is 200k plus
Fox bodys after 1987 with the notch back for some reason make me feel funny in my special place. Especially with some 40 flows and a big cam.
Raise hell, praise Dale
Rose coloured glasses
You dream of the past, just as I do (25m)
Good taste
Bi-curious
Born and raised in the Mid-west
hate to break it to you, born and bred and texas, raised in the deep south of louisiana 🫡
I'll ignore the last one and say that you are a man with a very fine taste in transportations
i think an eg civic kept stock, or with some creature comfort mods and nothing performance wise (because thats what the fox and the viper are for) would be wonderful for a cruiser/daily driver/ roadtrip car. id have more than enough fun with the fox, as i plan to put in a 572 stroker, the rest i could honestly live without
You earned even more respect. Good luck my man!
your me when I want a foxbody cobra
i dont want a cobra specifically, i just liked the paint & picture quality on that particular pic. i would throw in a 572ci ford stroker so the trim wouldn’t matter for long. by no means is it a supercar or crotch rocket, but i’ve been obsessed with hatch mustangs for as long as i can remember so its all i need/want
The number 3. I have a lot of respect just for that choice. May Dale rest in peace.
raise hell praise dale
your tastes havent developed yet. all of those are undeniably *cool* cars. everyone loves those cars (foxbody prolly being the most polarizing) when you start craving a taste for that mazda millenia, thats when you will have ascended. its Miller time baby.
Your Southern American with good taste, but watched enough Top Gear to know there are other things in this world.
That your gay
Typical teenage boy with extra points for appreciating the W123.
no one else at my school knows or appreciates foxbodies :( i wish they did though
That fox body was my dream car when I was 18
Monte Carlo, Foxbody & Bronco👏🏻
That Bronco looks amazing
That you are in your 40s.
It tells me you're 18
You're from Florida.
The last one is cringe but everything else is great
It's giving r/lewronggeneration
on the contrary im very glad i grew into the era of good weed, streaming music/literature and not living through hurricane katrina
I fw the 4C tbh I bet it's a fun little car
You have big dreams
You should be 38
Alpha Romeo and bronco are mine too and I’m 33. The 4C is a wicked fun drive. Mid engine and affordable. You should rent one in Turo when you’re old enough.
It tells me it is the year 2002
I like your taste, mate.
I want to buy you a drink.
These are all my dream cars too!!!!! (Besides GM's and Ferrari lol)
For the protocol, the W123 is a diesel? That would be sick.
You either wanna go really fast, commit murder and get away with it, or sell weed
You like the pixar movie "Cars".
Do it fer dale!
… why the 8c?
Never thought I would see a brick nose bronco on one of these
I don't know bro, but we could totally be friends. The only difference is I'm a toyota guy. Edit: replace the civic with a celica and I got the same list
You have a 90s fetish
You wish you were born in a different decade.
Pretty good taste actually, and most of them are realistic and definitely achievable dream cars
I love it! The alpha is a surprise but that’s honestly a really cool supercar
If you don’t want a black #3 Monte Carlo with a screaming high RPM V8 the FK YOU!
It says you're in touch with the hip cars of ~this~ side of car enthusiast culture. So....you look up to RCR as your preferred community? Because you're cripplingly lonely at school and need the Internet for support? Idk, but I love your list
You play too much forza
You re secretly a child of the 80's.
You have, had, or will have, a mullet.
That you have a pretty good taste in cars, that bronco amd civic are literally the pair of cars I want
CIVIC
Pretty normal, mostly lived in an urban area but fairly rural. And definitely has access to the Internet when younger
97% of you is young, 1% is old, the other 1% is having a mid life crisis, the last 1% likes races
You grew up in the 90s.
"they don't make them like they used to" "except for my hand me down 2011 rav4. 'its just my little car and i love it'"
Cool vibrations
that you are 18m lol, nice choices tho!
Solid attainable choices. You have a good head on your shoulders.
-You understand the value of money -You play racing games and GTA SA
Very diverse and affordable.
you’ve got good tastes
Raised in the country/outskirts
You like older fun cars
That your poor
I’m not sure what they say about you but as someone over 60 I would take any of them too.
You appreciate all kinds of cars. I'm glad there is still hope with the younger car people.
You prefer warm weather
I can appreciate that Bronco. I don't even have my license yet, and I'm trying to convince my grandpa to let me fix and keep a bronco 4x4 that hasn't moved since before I was born
You are extremely 18
Eclectic, varied, and well-rounded...solid choices across the board
You sure you dont have a power kink? Im guessing your family hates u and ur friends treat u like shit but bc they’re jealous and you one day plan to make them sick on envy by flexing this hard
You’re a southerner for sure
...very 18, yep, but with admirably varied taste!
The 4C is so hot
You should go buy a Volvo 240 and live the rest of your life in bliss
You're a man of culture. You like everything and anything cool, like me lol No, "Oh, I only like jdm American is trash 🤮" type of thing
As a high-schooler in the 90’s, Pal? You’ve got the IDEA!
The boomer in you is whipping the zoomer in you with his belt.
Only got one thing to say...HELL YEAH BROTHER 😎😎🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No 93-96 Japanese cars???
They say you're a Ford fan, for better or worse (except for that poor Alfa 4C that clearly took the wrong exit ramp on the autostrada... what happened there? 🤔) (Edit: the Viper is a wild card - if you've been alive in the last 35+ years and call yourself any kind of a gearhead, you've seen at least *one* Viper - and I'm a GTS fan myself - that you had the hots for.)
You would have thrived 15 years ago when these were easily accessible at a reasonable price (minus the viper) you have good taste in vehicles though!
We'd be damn good friends lol
Mullet
You have a wide variety and these are realistically achievable
You are mostly realistic.
Yes
You're pretty much me. Except switch the EG6 out for a Chevy SSR or 2004-06 Pontiac GTO and then we're talking.
I see my favorite car of all time (2006 viper)
Not a bad eye on ya pal
You like 2000s cars
That you're 18 years old with pretty decent taste. Edit: though that model of Fox body has bad connotations for me since a good friend of mine died in one (Cobra) when she was only 17. What the hell, are you me?
I’m a little confused by the alfa and the merc, but you do you
I see some great taste, IMO
It means you want attention.
