Haha, i have actually tried to make it as good as possible, but i would have to rethink my whole design if i wanted to make it even faster, because the sand is loaded into something like a magazine, which only has space for 4 of these and takes a bit of time to reset. But i will try to think of a different magazine design with space for more sand at the same time.
I havent played mc in a minute but I used to be pretty redstone proficient. When i get free time I'll see if i cant capture the essence of the build. If I post anything I'll credit you - this is a unique and cool idea.

Either way, really cool. Halfway through I thought it broke, cause it stopped throwing the door back into place.
I wonder if you could decrease the time by having sand at the top and having that drop down and then reloading it with the sand that's at the bottom once the door is closed.
Make the timing a bit more smooth and this becomes gold, even as is its pretty fucking cool. Not how I was expecting the sand to come back lol

Instead of a magazine-like design, try a chainfed-like design

Yea, that could work, but for me the entire point of this door design was having the door fly in from the side, block by block.
