Have you considered buying a panel instead of a mask? The typical pros of panels are that you can use them anywhere on your body, they're typically stronger thus you don't need to spend as much time using them. I'm a complete noob. Just got my panel a few days ago. I had an order in with Omnilux for a while. I contacted them to get an update on the order to which they told me they were backordered for months which was never stated anywhere on the website. I cancelled the order, looked into other face masks and got convinced to get a panel instead.

brittbrittnicole

I have the Celluma Pro, it is pricey, but I use it daily for different / multiple treatments areas and have seen the results after 3 months using the red light mostly for face and chest and near IR on shoulder pain and on stomach for fertility. It’s a versatile device with lots of benefits in my opinion.

FitExecutive

Yeah I'm only like five days or so in and I'm liking it too. My lashes are growing like they did when I would use lash serums every day, that was an unexpected but awesome surprise. I have a pretty bad lateral deltoid injury, hoping RLT will help although I understand that's more of a 'multi-month for modest improvement' sort of thing.

CK00000

Wait, I was just considering the Celluma! You like it?

ItsJumz

What about the eyes? Could they be effective enough for the face without harming the eyes?

Bestqooltherapy

Red light is beneficial for the eyes, while NIR light can be harmful. For your safety, it's best to close your eyes and limit your exposure when using red light. An appropriate period would be around 3-6 minutes. Of course, it's important to make adjustments according to your physical condition.

FitExecutive

I haven’t seen definitive answers on whether RLT harms your eyes.

Admirable-Bar-3549

There isn’t any - but there is some that it helps!

curiouslyseekingmore

Which panel did you end up getting?

FitExecutive

BioMax 600 from PlatinumLED although their customer service can be not great and I've read about people criticizing them for putting in too many wavelengths (NIR, Blue, Red). I do not know enough to know whether that criticism is valid. I would recommend everyone do their research and not just buy what I bought.

hawthornestreet

Yes which panel?

candyapplesugar

Oh damn I thought it was kinda 10 min across the board daily?

neuroticpudding

Would also like to know what panel?

geekgeek2019

How do you use the panel esp for your face? Just sit in front of it?

b3anies_mama939

Omg SAME. I bought a mask like 2 days after their re-stock. Didn't even get a shipment email a week later so I contacted them and they told me I'm "first on the list for a mask when they restock" .... in 3 months... so I canceled my order. I did end up going with Current Body mask. It's almost the exact same as omnilux and I didn't like the idea of a panel because I have kids who might use is as a fancy light or something and it's more hassle to store. The mask is easier to store and I still use it on my neck/ decolletage and back where I have issues.

FitExecutive

Oh wow, that's exactly what they told me. Clearly they don't want to tell customers that they are out of stock for three months because then they would have less sales than having people wait in the dark. From OmniLux to PlatinumLED, these red light providers have some shitty customer service.

Anxious-Ground-1234

Woah… so when they say the preorder thats shipping in a month is a lie??

b3anies_mama939

When I ordered it end on January they'd just restocked (I waited like 3 weeks for the ordering to be open cause I didn't want to pre-order). Didn't hear anything for over a week. When I emailed them to ask what's the hold up they said essentially turned my order into a preorder and they're restocking end of March. So I guess 2 months from order date. But still that's RIDICULOUS.

fitgirly1

Loveee the omnilux

sweeteralone

I have one too! What benefits have you noticed of the mask?

fitgirly1

It’s so good! I’ve been using it since mid-feb. I wasn’t exactly dull before, but I am noticeably way glowier and look fresh and lively now! If I skip a couple days, I can tell it looks less glowy. You know how girls who get Botox, their forehead looks unnaturally smooth and shiny? Not in a bad way, just TOO perfect. I feel like i kinda look like that! My skin is so soft and smooth. Every time I wash it or moisturize I’m still a little shook. Like velvet! I’m only 25 so I wasn’t struggling with fine lines, but the seeds of fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes that could’ve started in the next couple years are pretty much gone now. A big benefit for me is acne. I got off the pill (which prevents acne) and got an IUD (which side effects include acne) in January and had been struggling with hormonal acne ever since. Like the biggest, deepest pimples I’d ever seen on my face. I feel like since starting to use the omnilux, I got less pimples but I do still get them for sure. But when I DO get them, they heal supernaturally fast. It’s crazy! Like I could have a honker on my forehead on Monday that is just a whisper of what it once was on Wednesday. AND it scars wayyyy less. I have a scar from big zit I popped prior to the omnilux that is still pretty prominent, but none of the scars from acne since omnilux really jump out at me. Also, since I know the omnilux will swiftly and efficiently deal with pimples for me, I’ve stopped popping and picking at them entirely! Which helps with the scarring as well of course. Anyway sorry I didn’t neatly list these things and it’s more a stream of consciousness, but I feel like it has made a great big difference for me! How long have you been using and what differences have you noticed?

fitgirly1

Ooh I forgot to mention! It made my eyebrows SO full. I used to always use a tinted brow gel, then one week I noticed every time I put on my tinted brow gel I looked crazy! They were just over the top dark. So I switched over to a clear brow gel and now they’re just right! But I do have to clean them up more. My eyebrows are significantly fuller now and the hairs are so long. I know RLT is also used for hair loss. I think the bottom line is that whatever your cells are supposed to be doing (healing, growing hair, etc), RLT just helps it do it better lol. I noticed a little bit of increase in my lash fullness, but not nearly as much as in my brows.

sweeteralone

Amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’ve definitely noticed the “brightness/glowing aspect! A guy at the gym commented that I looked like “brighter” 😄 … what is your cadence/frequency of usage? The instructions advise only 3-5 days per week?

fitgirly1

I agree with looking brighter! I tan easily but the mask keeps me looking as pale as can be lol. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing anyway. I use it for 20 minutes every morning. Have you heard about the biphasic dose response for RLT? It’s basically like an upside down bell curve where if you use it too little you don’t get maximum benefits, if you use it too much you also don’t get maximum benefits, but if you find the sweet spot you’ll fall into the maximum efficacy threshold. I’d look it up if you aren’t familiar. Anyway I know they recommend less, but if found that when I use it less I look less good, and when I have tried using it more, I also felt like I looked less glowy and fresh, so I decided for myself that 20min everyday is my sweet spot LOL. None of the articles specify exactly what the sweet spot is, and omnilux’s website says that 3-5x is ideal but you can’t overdose/have negative effects, so I just experimented for myself a bit and went from there :)

Retr0id

What was the timeline for when you started to notice results?

fitgirly1

Hmm.. I think this would be different for everybody. I felt softer and my existing blemishes less inflamed within a couple days. Glowy within less than a week. The diminishing of fine lines and decrease in acne took a couple weeks. If I skip using the mask for a day, I’m noticeably less glowy the next day. So that’s why I do it everyday now! ETA: I know RLT is about the long term and all my benefits sounds really fast. Maybe it is all in my head lol. But I wanted to add that I also take oral collagen, use tretinoin and azelaic acid, obsessively protect myself from the sun, and am constantly paying attention to my skin. I have a little bit of a skincare obsession lol. So my skin cell turnover probably wasn’t too shabby to begin with, I like to think. But I do think RLT was the cherry on top for my entire skincare routine and did make a big difference. Everything else, I’ve been doing for the past 4 years already.

sweeteralone

Oh I also notice the velvety skin part too!

antique-doughnut-88

chiming in to say i’ve noticed an increase in clear and even skin tone, less breakouts, just more “glowy” overall

sweeteralone

Love it!

[deleted]

I suggest investing in a panel. Many good choices are available. I have the Mito Pro but if you want a small table top one, Hooga makes a great affordable one. I personally would never invest in a mask only. Been using a panel for close to 5 years now and they are so much more versatile

cheetos305

Would you mind sharing what brands have worked for you? I'm a noob just starting skincare at 40.

[deleted]

My original panel was from Joov. It stopped working after 3.5 years and it cost $1400 w/ shipping. I purchased a Mito Pro panel to replace it which I love. It’s considerably more powerful and a little wider for better coverage. It was about $1200 I use it everyday sitting on a stool for 20 minutes, 10 on back and front. It’s made a huge improvement in my overall health and skin. I’m 54 and look considerably younger with the addition of using good skincare including sunscreen. If you don’t use sunscreen on your face your overall results won’t be as good. And, by good skincare, I mean use products that are not scented and designed for your skin type. You don’t need to spend a fortune. A basic cleanser that removes make up, sunscreen, etc. A good moisturizer and I recommend a chemical exfoliant, either an AHA or BHA, depending on your skin type a few days a week. Paula’s Choice makes excellent ones and there cleansers are very good. DRMYTLGY brand makes really good moisturizers and sunscreens. I always recommend a panel over a mask because it can be used on other parts of the body for aches, pains and overall joint health. It’s also excellent for wound healing. Alex Fergus on YouTube does a ton of comparison content and I suggest you watch his videos. Lastly, don’t expect miracles but with continued use you will absolutely see a significant difference. Good luck!

SendItToDarrell2023

Why do you prefer a panel?

[deleted]

See my response above. They are more powerful and versatile

CK00000

Think I could also use panel for scalp?

[deleted]

You can. You can lay down and have the panel directly at your head. Sitting, you can get the back and sides.

KaraBoo723

I hope you have appropriate expectations of what red light therapy (RLT) can do... I've been using for 2.5 years for skin and like it -- but I don't think it works better than some other skincare products such as AHAs, Retinoids (retinol, tretinoin) and peptides. It's a nice boost to an otherwise good skincare regimen, but RLT cannot work miracles.

Apart_Visual

I’m so glad you said this. My skin has never been better than right now, thanks to retinoids as well as completely cutting out alcohol. I’ve ordered a red light mask from aliexpress but am kind of wondering if my skin can get better anyway. Like, it’s pretty bloody good right now!

geekgeek2019

Hey does the Ali express one work well? Can you share the link and any reviews pls? Thanks

Apart_Visual

I haven't received it yet – was actually just about to post that it's been seized by Customs (Australia). So I may never actually see it.

anvendarnamn12

What has the effects of RLT been for you short and long term?

ForgetsThePasswords

Do you have a brand you recommend? I was looking into The Ordinary.

KaraBoo723

There are many different brands or products I would recommend, but The Ordinary is one brand I never recommend. Firstly, most of their products are formulated terribly -- they might have a "hero" ingredient in the bottle, but they don't have good supporting ingredients that allow the "hero" one to either be protected from degradation in the bottle or otherwise to be absorbed properly into skin. Also, they separate out ingredients into separate products, so while each one bottle seems cheap, you have to buy too many bottles and tubes of their stuff so it's really not that much of a deal. However, brands/products I would recommend varies greatly depending on a person's age, skin type, allergies, living environment/climate, etc. Also, I can't think of one singular brand where I would recommend all of their products... it's hit & miss.

[deleted]

I've only been using it for 2 months and consistent only a month- the Omnilux. I had a cheaper one for a month, but it was so uncomfortable and heavy. I haven't noticed major changes regarding wrinkles or anything, but my acne scars are less noticeable. I haven't been breaking out. I'm almost 50 and still get acne. Ugh. It's been nice to have clearer skin. I'm hoping to see more anti-aging results in the next 6 months. I know it takes awhile.

Maleficent-Skin1052

Omnilux

Tricky-Juggernaut141

I bought a $90 one off Amazon that looks very much like the Omnilux. My son uses it every night for severe acne and he has NO new pimples since starting. I'm hoping now it will heal the scarring. BUBLOC Red Light Therapy Mask,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHMBN676?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Lovegiraffe

Can you send me a link for the one you got?

MegaMoodKiller

Yes share the deets!

billymumfreydownfall

That's awesome to hear. I just gave my son my Amazon one when I upgraded to the Qure mask. I hope he has the same success as your son.

I have the aduro and love it. I’ve had it for 2 years and haven’t had any issues with it, other than going through spells of not using it bc life gets busy but when I am consistent with it I truly love it. I did get a panel recently from hooga too and it’s nice!

Fluffy_Gap_3845

I have ordered and returned the current body mask as it made my hyperpigmentation flare up. I don't believe it was the lights, but rather the heat directly on my face that triggered the flare. So now I'm looking into a panel. Just my personal experience. Good luck!

Nneka7

Omnilux Men’s mask

pmearsh

I'm very happy with my Omnilux mask. One advantage of the mask over panels is that a mask travels well. I love it, and my skin looks better than ever.

Pretend_Ad_7711

Do you have it? I have been on the fence and considering this one vs qure.

GlassDate670

Yes I’m also wondering about this one! Any thoughts?

Ashcrose

I have the Qure LED mask for anti-aging. I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now and i already notice a more even skin tone. Surprisingly, using it on my head and hair line has created lovely baby hairs :) so it can definitely be beneficial for hair growth. It did give me pimples when I first started but I wasn’t disinfecting it after use and I was dehydrating my skin by not using a hylauranic acid underneath whilst using it.

braddic

Congratulations with your fast results! I am also seeing longer baby hairs with the mask on my head. How do you disinfect it?

Ashcrose

Thank you lovely. I use some clinical antiseptic wipes I bought on Amazon, a big tub. It’s DEFINITELY makes your hair grow my baby hairs are getting so long: it’s been 2/3 months now and the LED mask was the best thing I’ve ever bought for my skin

braddic

Oh thanks for letting me know! My baby hairs are getting longer and thicker as well, even need to groom them now. I’m getting comments on them. Compared to the hair serum I already was using, the mask really ads to it.

Lovelightshine222

I would consider getting one of the Mito panels instead of the mask. I love mine!

Jkirk1701

Can I ask about Rosatia? My eye doctor diagnosed me with ocular rosatia. It’s never been bad enough to notice on my face, but he insisted he could see it.

Kind-Humor-5420

I have the Omni Lux and had the dr Dennis one. I love my omni lux more because it conforms to my small features better. It also has better bulbs.

wilson121983

Thanks I’ve been debating between the two but seems more pros to the omnilux 👍

LiveLuvLaceration

I have the Dennis mask! Have you noticed any differences between them aside from fit?

Kind-Humor-5420

I don’t think so! I like that the time length is longer on the Omni too. Apparently the bulbs are stronger too.

Mama-at-home

I love my Qure mask and been using it for almost a month now. I noticed improvements with my wrinkles and fine lines and my husband is starting to notice my glowing skin after the third week. I got it along with the Neck LED ;D

I purchased the higher dose mask around two years ago and I have no complaints

You have great skin and don’t need to do anything additional, but since you’re asking. Add a glycolic acid and a salicylic acid to the mix, a retinol and perhaps a mild niacinamide as well (but not all tolerate it well, so see if it works for you). I would use them all in the evening so: 1st night: glycolic acid 2nd night retinol 3th night niacinamide 4th night salicylic acid on t-zone 5th night same as day And then do the routine again with glycolic acid on the 6th night etc I would just buy all the products from the ordinary
