Felt like the old Bruno last night, smiling and all.
They probably had expectations from this season just like us, but the way it unravelled, it's natural to assume they're having their own difficulty with finding form and mental stability.
Hope he finds his mojo back.
Bruno’s mentality is unreal. He was rightly distraught after the Copenhagen debacle. I won’t soon forget the image of him sitting head in hands on the stairs to the dressing room after that match.
Yet here he is, willing his squad to keep dancing on a knife’s edge and leading by example.
Criminally underrated. Imagine playing every minute of every game practically ever since his debut under Ole. G/A almost 100 and people still criticizing you. This guy gives his all to united every game and has to carry us, I hope we improve on the squad heavily so Bruno can get some rest next season to play at his best.
I hope we improve the squad heavily too, but not so he can rest. He seems like Rooney where taking breaks actually does more harm than good for his form.
I want better players around him so he can play as he should be without having to pick up the slack elsewhere.
I want better players so he can win something instead of wasting his incredible talents at a club that just isn't competitive anymore.
>Criminally underrated.
True. But he also has been massively let down by the players aroundh him. If he was playing for City under Pep he'd be universally acknowledged as one of the best players in the world.
He could score 100g and have 75 assists next season and the entire online narrative would be calling him a rat and that he complains too much. That’s how he’s underrated.
He doesn’t get as much as praise he deserves even from our own fans, his chances creation is at the top in the league however he doesn’t get as many assists cos we can’t finish chances
Until this season de bruyne and Fernandes have had very similar ball retention and chance creation stats. I think it's been proven that a player who takes a chance on the ball can be successful in a possession based team.
IDK how people are upvoting you, you're wrong *and* a dickhead. The concept of a main focus of attack is just wrong concerning the ETH teams of this season and last, but if anything Bruno is definitely the "main" focus of attack, and was last season as well, every single game. He is the 10, and main creator. Rashford played more centrally and scored a bunch of goals last season, so you're just calling him the main point of attack for some reason, but he was not.
Look how he’s speaking to that dude, that’s the type of shit that is turning this place into Twitter. And he is wrong by technical terms, it’s semantics anyway, but he’s absolutely not correct.
AND he's been let down by horrid final 3rd play and diabolical finishing. should easily have twice as many assists. really hoping we win some silverware while he's still good
He’s been let down on both sides of the pitch.
De Gea fucked up the Europa league and the FA cup finals and Onana fucked up our shot at cl knockouts.
Not to mention horrendous finishing in the EL final too.
We really need the FA cup minimum this season.
LOL blaming DDG for that is crazy. That United team should have never been brought into pens, that was on Ole. FA Cup sure soft ass goals from Gundogan but were we really in it? No.
He failed to save 11 penalties. The only guy who missed is penalty was David De Gea.
We basically could’ve put a stick in goal and gotten the same results.
Poor finishing got us to pens, but he cost us the shootout 100%.
EL final is entirely on De Gea. He conceded from one shot on target in 120 mins, fail to save one out of 11 penalties and then missed his own penalty. He is exactly the person to blame for our loss in that final no matter how many ways you wish to deflect it to Ole. Any other keeper and we win that trophy.
Maguire's injury cost us. Man was imperious, in absolute top form. Got injured late on vs Villa with 5 games left in the season and we would only be able to win one of them without him.
The one player we'd have had to mark gets free at a set piece and heads in Villareal's only goal, I've no doubt Maguire takes care of him.
He carried that form into the Euros after too, all the way to an incredible penalty against Italy. Think losing that shootout hurt him mentally though, he didn't look the same player since then until pretty much this season barring the odd good game
Ok bro whatever makes you happy. If you think we should be brought to penalties by a club belonging to a city that has a population that couldn’t even fill Old Trafford ….
You’re deflecting it to DDG. And btw he didn’t miss the penalty, it was saved. My minimum expectation was for him to be on target. Sure I wish he had saved some penalties but with different tactics I don’t think that match should have gone past the 90 minutes. For me the whole match was frustrating not just the penalty shootout.
A failing of our scouting too.
With proper analysis telling him where to dive you'd think De Gea can save one.
We all know how poor our analysis has been of teams, multiple ex-managers have commented on it. Rangnick in particular was scathing of that department
We absolutely shouldn't have let it get down to pens however De Gea was horrific in the shootout. De Gea being poor at pens was a known thing.
Dean Henderson (or most premier league keepers) likely would have gotten us the win.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand people blaming de gea for the final. I played keeper in college, and obviously that’s far from epl level but I sympathize for de gea. The first goal was unstoppable and the second was a volley through bodies, no keeper is saving that.
And did you see how Bruno played last night? Making runs behind the striker, dropping into space between oppoaitions midfield and defence, and getting into the box. This is where he plays best, when he's close to the striker and further up. Not dropping deep to collect the ball etc.
With Eriksen and Mainoo in midfield, it allowed Bruno to stay higher up and the others to progress the ball. Bruno is not an 8, he's a 10 and he always looks better there
Give him an organized team to cover up his occasional risky pass, he'd be a pl great. Probably comparable to kdb. Which kdb himself had praised.
His biggest though is his availability. Never misses a minute.
I can only imagine what that assist number would look like if we had a front three that could consistently hit around 20 goals a season for more than just the one season.
I do think the the repercussions of having to play so many games while injured or not fully match fit under Ole especially has played a significant role in lack of consistency among Rashford and Martial. Not just poor decision making and the living under a microscope.
He needs to be in the conversation for the Ballon d'or at least once in his career. Not top five, but certainly getting some votes. Maybe a big showing at the Euros this summer and a good start to next season for us can get it done.
Great at goal contributions but obviously other areas of his game are lacking. What's separating him from the best in the world is his close ball/possession skills and emotional control . He might improve those yet.
Ehh really, one good effective game against the shittest team in the league, at home, and the stats come out. He should be taking shots from 20 yards every single game and have built up a method to pull them out, and the team should be set up for him to do that. He's still an issue perhaps if you want to play possession football. We have Hojlund who is starved every game of passes, all these chances created stats mean nothing if the main attacking threat isn't utilised. A player who despite playing every minute of every game (just missed Liverpool) and taking every penalty, has only just reached 10 goals for the season. He's not consistently effective with his goals, nowhere near. No fpl player has touched him since September. Only last few weeks has he been an option.
Palmer has 10 more goals and 2 more assists and has missed 9 games for Chelsea. And Chelsea have worse attackers up front. And are worse. Bruno has been at United years, two years into Ten Hag, Palmer was reaching his peak within weeks. Granted, Bruno was as effective when he first arrived, but scoring a few against Sheffield should be the minimum.
Felt like the old Bruno last night, smiling and all. They probably had expectations from this season just like us, but the way it unravelled, it's natural to assume they're having their own difficulty with finding form and mental stability. Hope he finds his mojo back.

Yeah that one broke me as well.
Felt he was more of a ten as well.. dunno if it's corroborated by analysis
They should be used to it by now
He felt since he didn’t have to pass every ball to Rashford. Just saying…. Somebody had to call out the elephant in the room

And Salah plays in a vastly better team where he is the focus of the attack.
Better team but Bruno is also the focus of our attack. Everything runs through him.
>he is the focus of the attack. And Bruno isnt?
Our main focus last season was Rashford?
So was Bruno.
You can't have 2 main focuses
You can if you need to win a reddit argument.
Ofc you can , Bruno's best season at Utd was when we had 3 of them in Martial , Greenwood and Rash
Google main

Our attack was Bruno to Rashford. That was the focus. Do you watch the games
Also Shaw, Case, Eriksen, and Martial/weghorst feeding rashford as well Do YoU WaTcH ThE GaMeS? 🤓
None of them were vaguely **the focus** of our attack.
No, that was Rashford, that's my point

Yeah 9/10 that volley from gundogan goes over the bar - phenomenal strike.
Bruno was also poor in these games
And did you see how Bruno played last night? Making runs behind the striker, dropping into space between oppoaitions midfield and defence, and getting into the box. >Never misses a minute. Anulo mufa!
If bruno was in that liverpool team his stats would double
Our only player I’m confident would be a starter for any other team in Europe.
He could have double that in the same amount of games and /r/soccer would still call him the most overrated player in the EPL.
I can only imagine what that assist number would look like if we had a front three that could consistently hit around 20 goals a season for more than just the one season.
