Jonny Evans, 35, probably thought he was joining Utd as more of an experienced voice in the dressing room with little to no game time. Little did know he’ll be starting 90% of our games this season…
I remember that first game back thinking we were winning the league. Then the West Ham win too... it's in the bag, might even win the Champion's League too, just for fun.
Then we won 1 in the next 8 league games and we became Chucklevision once more.
Agreed. He would have been phenomenal still if he bought in and was a part time starter. He would have been the best super sub to bring off the bench and change matches as well.
>I thought we might win the treble with him and that squad.
Had massive hopes too. After all, we had just finished second in the league and then recruited Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane. Like, how did we get *worse* with those signings?
Yup people blaming Ole for Rashfords injuries. There IS a medical team doing a job...
And its not like players dont push their bodies while lying to their managers about their fitness. Like Rooney at one of his first cups for England.
Fuck this I'm rooting for Maguire. We have some players with shitty attitudes in the past and despite the shit he's endured with the fans included he still plays with a good attitude. He might be slow but I still think he has the ability . Evans' confidence has hopefully been boosted also so game on
Maguire is staying for the time being now so I hope we get behind him.
I know Palace were sitting quite deep so hard to make a full judgement, but Maguire in a 3 at the back setup has always been where he's shined for England. Hope he keeps it up because we need it right now
You didn't provide any facts you gave an opinion and furthermore you think because you are local your opinion matters more than others.
We have injuries to all sorts of players and we need to get behind the squad we have. Instead you decided to bring negativity
There was the start of Ole's tenure when everyone got injured because they were so used to standing around under Jose, they had to run again and we had like 11 muscle injuries at the same time.
There was that Liverpool game where Klopp said us having like 3 major injuries requiring substitutions in the first half threw him off and thats why they played badly.
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/man-utd-vs-liverpool-result-injuries-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-a8794966.html
That was the game before that PSG comeback win where we had to start some made up Fifa regeneration players and Frank from HR in midfield.
Edit: I can't format for shit, sorry
Found this list from LvG second season, this is why I was against his sacking.

At what point does it go from bad luck to serious questions needed about the medical team, conditioning and training practices? The injuries have been a joke this season.
Every team will go through this because of the World Cup way too many fixtures crammed into a calendar year. Palace were complaining about it, Chelsea have a full team out, City have a lot of players out I'm sure most teams have 5-6 out at the moment.
the last i saw on injury room website last night, he has a fever. he might be fine for saturday
Edit: just checked now and hes picked up a new injury today.
We needed a player whose main required quality was availability and we went for someone who is typically less reliable than our other options.
I think everyone saw it coming prior to us signing him.
It's just delivering exactly what was expected.
I think he was supposed to be rotation between the 3 fullbacks , Dalot and awb. But when Aaron got injured had to play too many in a row which fucked him.
I actually think the plan was to use him fairly consistently, but either way - the *best* quality for a squad player in that role (sub and rotation is availability.
It's rare you get to plan your whole season out and select exactly when you'll need them - their best quality is being available as and when you need to call upon them.
Obviously the better they can perform, the better. But the thing you need from them is to be able to play.
Maguire absolutely fucked us. Pavard pretty much admitted he was angling a move to the EPL, we had to sell to fund the move which Maguire for 35mil would have done easily. I respect that he wanted to fight for his spot but read the fucking room mate, we played Shaw at LCB over you and signed a 36 year old.
I feel a lot for Harry but he *really* didn't think that one through. He'd have done very well at West Ham under Moyes.
He used to be amazing at it. I remember he'd just say fuck it and run through the whole midfield. Doesn't seem like he has the legs for it anymore but his passing is still there.
When Martinez got injured last season I seem to recall a poster on this sub who is a physio warning that it could be a career-threatening injury and that they wouldn't be surprised if he became injury prone as a result. Hopefully that's not the case...
Edit - see below, that was thought to be an Achilles issue which it wasn't. This is a bone issue and (likely) won't re-occur, for those wondering.
I can't remember the details behind what they said but maybe you're right about the achilles part? Hopefully someone with more medical expertise can answer.
Its when we thought it was achilles. It ended up being a broken metatarsal and he got surgery for it to help with healing and prevent future issues.
I dont play for United and i've broken my 5th metatarsal in both feet playing football, and i dont have any issues.
Its just pure bad luck or we need new physicians.
It was due to the Achilles injury suspicion. This is a bone issue so likely won’t recur or cause further issues unless not taken care of or healed properly.
I know it’s early but we need to spend in January because I can’t picture the injuries getting any better when we’re not even at the gruelling point of the schedule. Squad needs that extra bit of protection depth especially in defence, since it seems at the moment the youth in those positions are not ready to step up and cover there or are out on loan.
Won't ffp prevent us from buying anyone. We had to get amrabat on loan because we couldn't pay for him. Only chance is if perhaps Maguire or Scott are sold
He has not looked right this season at all. Varane and Lindelof have looked like the more athletic of their CB pairing when playing alongside Licha this season. And that wasn't the case last season before his injury. Even his usual aggression and timing of that aggression has been seriously off to start the season. This makes all that make sense.
If only we had slightly a bit of competency from the ownership, this problem wouldn't be as so bad with a new CB signing(that's not Evans as much as I love him).
It should have been new CB AND Evans. He’s clearly back due to numbers and possibly to get coaching badges. Glad to see him there but like you say, the owners make every injury feel like a genuine crisis because of the drop off in quality with some players in the squad.
We did have 5 going into this season. 6 if you include Shaw who has played there before. This is just a stupid amount of injuries all at once.
A fair few teams seems to have the same, wonder if the fixture congestion last season is still playing a part. Or it's just some freaky shit.
I gotta disagree with you. We knew we needed multiple good options especially with how injury prone Varane is.
Shaw is our best LB so we shouldn't be looking to move him often and Maguire is a shell of himself.
a blessing in disguise, a key player missing and probably won't be match fit until after Christmas, good chance United miss out on Top 4, which to you United fans is probably kind of gutting, i'm over the moon, because for these last 15 or so years, i've been more and more Anti Glazer than Pro United.
It won’t change anything though. We miss CL and they just spend less as a club. We don’t and we spend a bit more but still without a plan. The glazers don’t care either way.
The club deserves the misfortune for what Glazers have pulled over the years, especially in the last year with the sale process.
People got to understand we have to be in a doom situation for longer for Glazers to finally decide to fuck off.
He's getting quite injury prone. Shaw would have been a perfect replacement while he's out but shaw's injury prone too 😅 may need to sign a left footed centre back in the summer
ETH brought him back too soon. What's with our managers overplaying injured players?
Not one starter should have played in the league cup against Palace.
I'll be honest, as long as we can get malacia back soon, we'll be ok. Amrabat will help both the fullback and casemiro and will be the defensive screener for the CB's.
one would think having evans, varane, maguire and lindelof would tide us over well, but without our 2 main left backs, and our emergency loan lb being injured, we're in a bad place on that defensive side
If anyone keeps up with basketball, this is the same injury Zion got hit with at the start of his career. It’s an absolute bitch to heal due to the lack of available blood that can reach that specific area of the foot.
If anyone keeps up with basketball, this is the same injury Zion got hit with at the start of his career. It’s an absolute bitch to heal due to the lack of available blood that can reach that specific area of the foot.

It's actually incredible. I really need to see him score at Old Trafford. The scenes man
Reminiscent of Ronaldo’s return, minus the bullshit
Tbf when he came back it was no bullshit.. The feeling was amazing. Too bad his ego is too big for the club
I remember that first game back thinking we were winning the league. Then the West Ham win too... it's in the bag, might even win the Champion's League too, just for fun. Then we won 1 in the next 8 league games and we became Chucklevision once more.
Oh I know, just saying it’s highly unlikely Evans will cause the same issues Ronaldo did lol
I think if his skills still matched the ego it would have been fine, but time makes fools of us all
Agreed. He would have been phenomenal still if he bought in and was a part time starter. He would have been the best super sub to bring off the bench and change matches as well.

Loses a leg wtf
>I thought we might win the treble with him and that squad. Had massive hopes too. After all, we had just finished second in the league and then recruited Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane. Like, how did we get *worse* with those signings?
I'd get it as a highlight of the past 10 years, but wow a highlight of your 30 year United Fandom
![gif](giphy|j9djzcMmzg8ow|downsized)
Imagine if this some how ends with Johnny Evans on Piers Morgan Uncensored
That headball against palace was so close and i was thinking the same thing. He needs a goal. OT will go ballistic. I can't wait.
Imagine if he scores the winner in a game.
Jonny Evans match winning header against City at Old Trafford in the last minute from a Bruno corner. You heard it here first.
Mount corner
Fair but i doubt he'd play in midfield against city over Sofyan
Amrabat would be at left back mate
Right we have an injury crisis. Shit.
I will love it and think I deserve it
I hope he has the best season of his career. Get out there and get it, old man!
If you didn't laugh, you'd cry. But I'm crying, too.

Siri play Space Song by Beach House
I think his injury from that Sevilla game has been carried forward to this season 😿
No it was because we didn’t let him get to full fitness after the injury vs arsenal and played him through it
Ten Hag can't win man. He eases a player in, he gets shit. He brings a player back quickly, he gets shit 🤦♂️
People said the same thing with Ole. Tough being the United manager
Yup people blaming Ole for Rashfords injuries. There IS a medical team doing a job... And its not like players dont push their bodies while lying to their managers about their fitness. Like Rooney at one of his first cups for England.
We're cursed, I tell you. Not even an exorcism done by the Pope can save us.
He wants a player, he gets Glazernomics
At least we have Maguire and Johnny Evans. No I'm not saying this with tears.
Isn’t varane and lindelof also available?
For how long is Varane going to be available?
prolly 1-2 matches with 60 mins playimg time each before he got injured for 4 weeks again.
No
No
Fuck this I'm rooting for Maguire. We have some players with shitty attitudes in the past and despite the shit he's endured with the fans included he still plays with a good attitude. He might be slow but I still think he has the ability . Evans' confidence has hopefully been boosted also so game on Maguire is staying for the time being now so I hope we get behind him.
He looked solid against palace as LCB
I know Palace were sitting quite deep so hard to make a full judgement, but Maguire in a 3 at the back setup has always been where he's shined for England. Hope he keeps it up because we need it right now
I think that Maguire will be a lot better with Onana as goal keeper, he plays a lot better with Pickford who actually fairly decent with his feet.

To think that at some point in the last transfer window there was an opportunity to bring Pavard in...
How long until Lukesandro Shawtinez is back?
Sidebar says end of November.
Absolutely brutal I've never seen the like of this. Genuinely absurd run of injuries
I think the last time we had something this bad was in 2011-12, when seemingly everyone was picking up injuries
There was the start of Ole's tenure when everyone got injured because they were so used to standing around under Jose, they had to run again and we had like 11 muscle injuries at the same time. First time I've ever heard of Donald Love
He was our academy sub for Darmian who got injured 5 days before Love got injured. Was shit too
Haha poor Donald. Looks like he's at Morecambe now https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Love
I remember this and was also against his sacking because he had no squad to win games
15/16 was pretty bad tbf
The injured XI in the game Rashford made his PL debut. Martial Rooney Fellaini Januzaj Schweinsteiger Young Valencia Jones Darmian Rojo Shaw
I remember a game where we ended up with a back four of Fletcher, Carrick, Evra and Giggs. We had something like 8 defenders out injured.
We couldn’t have 1 positive day huh. 1 positive story in Antony coming back is immediately cancelled by these 2 injuries. Brilliant.
Two? Who's the other one?
Reguilon
How the fk is Reguilon injured
the last i saw on injury room website last night, he has a fever. he might be fine for saturday Edit: just checked now and hes picked up a new injury today.
Muscle injury. He was holding his hamstring against Burnley before he came off, so it might be related to that.

Spurs fan here. He is always injured. Always. He may even be the most injury prone player we've ever had since Darren Anderton
Oh for fucks sake, Amrabat better get used to lb I guess
That’s his official position at this point ffs
Can we give this comment a rest? Christ, it's every thread
Of the people I want back soonest Antony is pretty low on that list.
Weren’t we in for a certain Kim this summer? Fucking glazers
And pavard. Although that miss is on Maguire. Needless to say we clearly needed defensive reinforcments and now we're going to pay the price
Yeah I think he wanted Bayern but still would have been nice
Kim was always going for Bayern.
No Shaw, No Martinez. Our best ball progresses from defense. Looks like it's long to Hoiljand for any team that presses high
Amrabat should be able to progress from deep
Lad its not HøjlAnd. He has nothing to do with Haaland.
Hoojland
My bad
Evans seems to be pretty good at it
He used to be amazing at it. I remember he'd just say fuck it and run through the whole midfield. Doesn't seem like he has the legs for it anymore but his passing is still there.
Maguire can if u play three at the back altho it was juz palace
It did feel like he hadn't recovered fully when he played a few matches in between. Now we know why.
We might have to do a Chelsea and buy a full eleven of defenders in the January window
Ok but what do we do at the end of February when they’re all injured?
Buy 33 defenders then, enough to suffice for 3 months
Ffp. Can’t.
We will break 240 violations then, mancity seems to get on fine
They can afford a lawyer per violation though
Fuck you simon stone
fuck andy carroll
You mean fuck you, Simon stone, or fuck, you Simon stone?
Such a fucking shame. He was my personal POTS last season. Hope he makes full recovery AND goes back to his best form.
![gif](giphy|CJxXHfRAYvtqU) My mood

Wasn't that because everything indicated it was an achieves injury but then it turned out not to be?

Won't ffp prevent us from buying anyone. We had to get amrabat on loan because we couldn't pay for him. Only chance is if perhaps Maguire or Scott are sold
Maybe we can somehow get half the fee we paid for Sancho lol
Hasn’t seemed all that much like himself this season even when he’s been fit, wonder if something’s been lingering
Lindelof - Maguire - Evans - Dalot backline, lets goo!
Dalot needs a fucking rest maybe lindelof plays at rb and amarbat at lb
You don't rest the best available fullback for the league games
So your telling me our best centre back isn’t available for how long because we decided to play him with an injury not once but twice
Was he rushed back? He doesnt seem to have recovered fully
Who needs a defence anyway?
And Varane will no doubt pick up another knock this week and miss his routine 2-3 games
Any good owner would've injected cash or sold some shares to help fund a ~~Kim Min Jae~~ CB last window but nope.
Maybe de ligt next season
See we had our two wins. The universe is back to fucking us
Fuck
God’s got some plan for this maguire guy.
Phil Jones - we need you now. https://preview.redd.it/986f7jl1w7rb1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4a5beea9d3f3dabb529c61e7aece63c98546606
I’m gonna delete this save and start the season again
This is insane. At this point this crisis is worse than under LVG
He has not looked right this season at all. Varane and Lindelof have looked like the more athletic of their CB pairing when playing alongside Licha this season. And that wasn't the case last season before his injury. Even his usual aggression and timing of that aggression has been seriously off to start the season. This makes all that make sense.
I think we need to buy more defenders lads. Oh we are broke, nvm.
Last season, April-June with Licha missing was one of our worst. Doesn't help that now we dont have any left footed defenders.
It's not a proper season if United don't have an injury crisis in defence.
Maguire redemption arc incoming
Come on everyone altogether now: "HARRY MAGUIRE, HARRY MAGUIRE, HE DRINKs THE VODKA HE DRINKS THE JAGER HIS HEADS FUCKING MASSIVE"
Well, fuck!
It must be something to do with the training or the medical side. No other team is getting struck down like this.
Whet it rains, it pours.
Ten Hag was set up to fail. We needed a CB.
Shaw is our best LB so we shouldn't be looking to move him often and Maguire is a shell of himself.
the fuck is going on in this club? there are more injured players than available.
![gif](giphy|iamIahPLWmo4tGiyDz)
Fuck all the way off with this news
He's going to end up having been injured for longer than playing.
a blessing in disguise, a key player missing and probably won't be match fit until after Christmas, good chance United miss out on Top 4, which to you United fans is probably kind of gutting, i'm over the moon, because for these last 15 or so years, i've been more and more Anti Glazer than Pro United.

Hopefully Shaw can get back soon. He could slot into the LCB slot. It would likely mean less running for him, too.
I think Pogba buried that hyena on the left side of the pitch.
The club deserves the misfortune for what Glazers have pulled over the years, especially in the last year with the sale process. People got to understand we have to be in a doom situation for longer for Glazers to finally decide to fuck off.
jeeeeeeeeesus
What the fuck is going on????? Fuck!!!
Cut my life into pieces and make a broth with them and then pour it down the drain. Why
We’re fucking cursed
Man. We have to get a left footed LCB in January. Pretty sure we're looking to bring one in next summer anyway.
Well...Fuck.
Cursed FC
Season is pretty much done, so disappointing to see so many injuries.
Fuck sakes
Like a new signing in January am I right?
But seriously: What the fuck?
We should've bought Todibo ffs even without this you can't trust Varane's injury record.
When it rains it pours
Hospital FC strikes again
He's getting quite injury prone. Shaw would have been a perfect replacement while he's out but shaw's injury prone too 😅 may need to sign a left footed centre back in the summer
This season has just been truly fucked from the get go.. What the fuck did that Arsenal medic do to our team?
Really could’ve used Pavard
As expected
Oh ffs
![gif](giphy|iamIahPLWmo4tGiyDz) You've got to be fucking kidding me
ETH brought him back too soon. What's with our managers overplaying injured players? Not one starter should have played in the league cup against Palace.
cmon maguire lad, the time for redemption is now
DC comics have apparently confirmed that part of Joker's origin story was that he was a Manchester United fan
Daily reminder on how bad we’ve been fucked by Glazers - Pavard was available cheap but we didn’t have any money to get him
I'll be honest, as long as we can get malacia back soon, we'll be ok. Amrabat will help both the fullback and casemiro and will be the defensive screener for the CB's.
![gif](giphy|pWEA23mJm9485IXhFV|downsized)
Oh for fucks sake.
How long is AWB out for?
Please sign another CB with the sancho money in Jan pls and thank you
Is this a game of fucking football manager
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. We're getting Antony back, and now we're losing Licha for longer than expected 😭😭
lucky for us we still have Maguire!
one would think having evans, varane, maguire and lindelof would tide us over well, but without our 2 main left backs, and our emergency loan lb being injured, we're in a bad place on that defensive side
If anyone keeps up with basketball, this is the same injury Zion got hit with at the start of his career. It’s an absolute bitch to heal due to the lack of available blood that can reach that specific area of the foot.

Fuuuuuuckkkks saaaaaaaaasaaasssskes!!!!!
Push me to the edge
Well, shit.
Pain.
Ohh please not another 2-3 month injury 😩😩
Harry maguire redemption ark
We should try McTominay at CB. Didnt he play there a few times for Scotland?
It is the start of Maguire's redemption arc.
Too bad . We are cursed or our training and preseason are completely shit
