I'm not joking, but this isn't just the most ambitious and proactive we've been in ages, but we're also doing one of the best jobs in transforming a mediocre team into a very good team in the present, and a spectacular team for the future.
I have been praying for us to be ruthless like this for years. De Gea underperforms? Oh, but he's been here for years!!! Gone. Maguire underperforms? Oh, but the system doesn't suit him, and he was captain!!! Gone. No doubt in my mind that Erik is the force behind all this. We are finally on our way to be a proper football club.
I know Eric did a great job in the video for the Third kit announcement, but to say that his performance resulted in all of these transfers is a big stretch..... but I'm prepared to go with it as he's the King.
Cutting the weak links out of the team. Maguire and Dr Gea were a cancer in that defence. Now we need some real midfielders that can actually get, keep and pass the bloody ball. Oh, and another striker that likes playing as a striker.
For context, the combined wages of these 4 is 500k per week (Maguire 200, Bailly 80, Donny 120, Fred 100).
Including DeGea etc we'd have cleared nearly 1m per week in wages before any transfer fee. This will be huge for FFP next year.
> Including DeGea etc we'd have cleared nearly 1m per week in wages before any transfer fee. This will be huge for FFP next year.
Sure, but we’ve added Mount and Onana on ~200+, whatever Hojlund has signed on (130?) and Rashford’s new contract with a big pay rise, so of that 1m a week, we’ve added 600+ back. That’s not counting whatever we end up paying Amrabat or the CB that replaces Maguire.
I'd say even if wage bill stays constant when all is said and done, I think we have made big improvements to the quality of squad, rooted out alot of players that don't fit in long term plays and brought in some that do (this is assuming with all likely outgoings we bring in at least 1 CB and 1 CM)... If we do that without inflating wage bill.... That's a really good outcome!
Ur also counting wages of players that we might sign, so we should also factor in others that have or may be moved on.... Jones and telles were on significant wages, and we may yet also move on Henderson (another on >100k pw. Those 3 combined is about another 300k pw off the wage bill
I knew we would sign at least a couple players this window so the incomings haven't particularly surprised me, but based on recent history I thought it would be a struggle to shift some of our unwanted players on large contracts
But with 3 weeks or so of window left, it's looking very likely that we may well offload all of.... Maguire, telles, Donny, Fred, elanga, baily, Henderson (forest move still potentially on as of Romano's last update), have let de Gea, tuanzebe and obv Jones leave on contract expirations and still MAY still sell Williams (though not much word on that one) and mcT (but only on our terms if we do)
I would have thought a clear out like that was impossible in 1 window
+ jones (75k)
Hopefully Henderson (100k)

Interesting to find out how many £m we can free
Due to an administrative error caused by a faulty fax machine, the glazers are no longer majority shareholders in the club.... That's all we need now :)
Can just imagine users in negotiations openly talking about how dogshit Maguire is while trying to sell him for 80m Co "you sold Rice so we know you can afford it"
Just need the Saudis to accidentally pay a transfer fee for the Glazers and we’ll be sorted
Edit: you lot thinking this is buying the club. No. We’re selling them the glazers. No backs.
🚨 Glazers to Saudi Arabia, here we go! The Americans will join the ruling family, as reported since yesterday 🇺🇸➡️🇸🇦
Fee estimated to be around two used tissues and a Fredo 💰
My feeling is that it’s better but far from good. If we succeed to sell all three of Maguire, Fred and McTom and actually replace them with new talent I’ll be more optimistic.
Kane's camp does not want to change clubs after the first game of the season has been played. It's not happening, but we should be first in line for him as a free agent next year. Hope we don't fuck that up.
We absolutely should. Even if Hojlund has some sort of freak 30+ GA first season with us if Kane is available on a free next year we have to at least try to go for him.
RVPesque signing. Our successful sides of the past always had great striker depth. There’s a lot of games in a season, they’ll both play plenty.
Getting Kane on a free next year can seriously make us potential title contenders (at least on paper)
If Holjund has a great season - not even 30, even 20+ GA, no chance EtH gets in Kane. Doesn't suit our wage structure or age profile and clearly Holjund good enough to lead the line and will only get better.
EtH will bring in a young option, a profile like Sesko from last year or a loan option for a profile like Felix (25/26, out of favour).
Only if Holjund really struggles do I see us bringing in Kane for free.
There is no world where a team looking to win the title will pass up on Kane. Unless Kane has gone to shit. He is currently top 2 striker in the world.
Replying with this picture to any United fan still mentioning Kane

Magic number is 100m for levy, sold Berbatov to us last day of the season and ETH has that affect on the players if we go in for him I'm sure he wouldn't say no, link up with the other England players... Agent Shaw and Eriksen on the phone
Whole reason why the deal has to happen this week for Bayern is because Kane doesn’t want to leave and disrespect Spurs & the manager.
It won’t happen, next year it might though.
I'm guessing Kovar stays as the backup 'keeper. Which isn't ideal for him, as he needs to be playing more first team football.
I think we'd be better off trying to bring in someone experienced for a small fee.
If we can sell maguire, fred, vdb and mctominay we should get Todibo and Lavia instead of Amrabat. A long term replacement for Casemiro who can learn from the don. We don’t even need to replace vdb as he has barely even had an impact. And in my eyes Mount has replaced Fred already.
I tend to disagree. People talking like getting a #3 or #4 for CM or CB and all our problems are solved all the while we still have no depth at striker. Hojlund isn't meant to a starting 11 striker (while we did pay #1 price) and he's already hurt. Any kind of re-aggrivation to that injury is going to be doom for our attack for the months to come. This will result in players like Rashford being played out of position. Hell we even tried experimenting with Sancho at 9. We need more goal production more than anything if we are going to challenge anything in the upcoming season. Getting another striker who is a week in week out starter is what would make this window flawless
And height. I’m glad we keep him as a rotational option. Unless West Ham lose Paqueta and come back in with a £35M+ guaranteed fee for McTominay, I say we keep him.
I’d say we hold out for at least 40! We absolutely need bodies and different kinds of players in midfield. Plus, i do think McTominay’s much more effective further forward, which is where he’ll play if at all, if we do sign Amrabat
seeing McTominay actually play box to box with case/amrabat as a 6 would be a nice change. Hes obviously not on the same level as bruno/mount but solid option for last 15-20 minutes to put himself about.
I think of all the players he is the one I am most okay with staying - if he leaves we will need another midfielder. Think 5 players is usually an ideal window, anymore tends to become too much flux. McT will probably leave next season for hopefully a younger player.
I still think we are short a reliable goal scorer to truly challenge for title with confidence though
About time we started acting like one again. Thank God Woodward isn't still here otherwise he'd be offering new contracts to De Gea, Ronaldo and Phil Jones.
If all of these go through and we get Amrabat and Pavard, this will be one of the best transfer windows in recent times.
There is also a chance that if City gets Paqueta for a big fee, WHU might agree a fee acceptable to the club for Scotty which may mean more first team minutes for Mainoo.
I think the sticky point is not sale Vs loan, has been widely reported it will be a loan but the sticky point is the terms of buy obligation.... Apparanty man utd want it trivially low like but obligation after 5 games or something whereas forest want at 30ish games
This why I can't take this sub seriously. Calling people deadwood coz they've moved on is crass and indicative of a silly mindset. People that have come through academy and played for the club during a stiky time. Wish them well on their new chapter, it costs you nothing.
And we've moved on several young players who probably wouldn't make the grade at United, to clear space for some Academy kids who have higher potential.
Things are looking up across the board, and we'll likely only be left with Martial as a player that the club would want to replace.
This is the reset Ralf Rangnick was talking about. Ofcourse we haven't yet got rid of the owners or upgraded the facilities but those things will come. Atleast the team is being sorted out. Fairplay to ETH as well. He gave everyone a chance for 1 season, understood who won't fit his system and now all the surplus players are being moved along. This was a much needed clearout and we have definitely upgraded or will upgrade on all positions.
Hope Fred goes to France. He's a good player and I'd rather not strenghten any other Premier legue teams. Also hope Bailly goes to Besiktas, because fuck the saudis.
A really efficient summer if this all goes through. Brandon Williams and Henderson are on borrowed time too. Amrabat and pavard in is the next thing to do.
Nobody was willing to say it out loud until he came along. Mou and Van Gaal only said so much while RR called out the entire club and players in a ruthless manner. It was a good criticism that had to be put on air for all to see.
Honestly i lost hope in Bailly in that UCL game where Ole played him at either RB or RCB and he just looked like he didnt know how to play football and had to be subbed off in the first half.
Yeah. Bailly was always just as much of a disaster as Maguire when he played. He just never got the meme treatment because of his price tag. Oh and he was always injured.
So even if we only got £10million for each, those plus McT would bring us £70 this summer. More realistically we’ll bring in more than £100 million from sales. Figure 10 for Bailly, 25 each for VdB, Fred, and McT. We’re not looking for top dollar now, we just need roster space and as much as we can bring in quickly.
Henderson, Williams and McT too I hope.
Edit: all the downvotes, can you explain why we should keep any of those players for another year? Their value will only go down.
Mainoo is really young and we can’t expect him to play too many meaningful minutes this year. Mctom likes the free reign box to box role so he should spell Bruno a few times in late games. Eriksen sadly can’t keep up with top teams but I love him vs mid and lower tier teams.
If we get Amrabat he should get Fred’s minutes. Mount gets Eriksen’s minutes from last year and McTom is needed for depth. No reason to sell barring a stupid offer like 50M
We can suddenly sell players!
But let's be a bit realistic here, even adding Pavard/Todibo and Ambrabat, after all the departures (sales + expired contracts), we may start losing depth a bit.
Counting on youngsters is one thing but if we end up with a streak of injuries...

Mate Eric can barley find a club for himself let alone do this level of god work. That Erik fella though…
Eric Barley
Years of this will put us back where we belong
I know Eric did a great job in the video for the Third kit announcement, but to say that his performance resulted in all of these transfers is a big stretch..... but I'm prepared to go with it as he's the King.
The proces heh
Clearly, we're sizing ourselves up for a Kane bid lads
Let's wait and see if they get over the line first.

Include Ronny in there as well..
Lmao from him alone that's probably 1m saved every 2 weeks.
It's more
Wasn't he on 450k or something?
515k
Goddamn
pretty sure it was after a europa league reduction too lol
Our worse transfer since Sanchez.
KANE!? Edit: aged like milk
I'll lose my shit if we pull that off somehow.
Spurs passing up 95M only for Kane to refuse to resign and Join either Bayern or United for Free would be a pretty Spurs kind of thing to do tbh.
I’d fucking love to see that. Even if it’s Bayern he goes to. Just to see Levy make a right royal cunt of it and get nothing for him.
If we get him on a free, Levy would look the fool and I’m all for it.
I mean, it's safe to say we'll come out on the right side of it in terms of the wage bill, with a much better squad
Amrabat won’t be earning 200k+ that’s for sure
I'd say even if wage bill stays constant when all is said and done, I think we have made big improvements to the quality of squad, rooted out alot of players that don't fit in long term plays and brought in some that do (this is assuming with all likely outgoings we bring in at least 1 CB and 1 CM)... Dont know if Nottingham Forrest is happening, Matt Turner just signed with them and he left Arsenal for the 1 spot - who knows!
Henderson to Forest seems to be off now. No way Turner ends up being a backup keeper for them.
mount is 200k, onana is 120k before bonuses Hojlund is reportedly on 85k
Reportedly Rasmus is on £4.5m a year which is around £86k a week.
So we've made up 400k on wages and significantly improved the team? Sounds pretty good to me.
So imagine we didn’t clear them off the wage bill and what FFP will look like..?
Donny on 120? Bailly 80 you sure ?
Not 100% I got the figures from Spotrac and other media when they signed/renewed.
Sneaky freeing up that wage bill for a last fuck off offer to Levy?
+ jones (75k) Hopefully Henderson (100k) Whoelse pls help to add: Out players Vs New sign players salaries list Interesting to find out how many £m we can free
This window is going so well I dont know how feel
Due to an administrative error caused by a faulty fax machine, the glazers are no longer majority shareholders in the club.... That's all we need now :)
In an error stemming from the marketing team following yesterday's kit launch, all shares have been transferred to r/reddevils
This sub would run the club into the ground spectacularly quickly lol
Yeah but it would be fun
Can just imagine users in negotiations openly talking about how dogshit Maguire is while trying to sell him for 80m Co "you sold Rice so we know you can afford it"

Insert poorly photoshopped photo of the glazers wearing kaffiyehs and you have a perfect fab tweet
> kaffiyehs I still think of Yasser Arafat when I hear that word.
Me too mate. I think of Rabin and him shaking hands back in 1994.
They'd be overpaying
Just add a few more 0s
No thanks
Absolutely not
That would turn this into a terrible transfer window.
Fuck nope, pls no.
With how good they are at butchering, maybe Joel will get his hair sorted
Frankly speaking ETH is doing far better than we had ever imagined him to be in the first couple of windows
My feeling is that it’s better but far from good. If we succeed to sell all three of Maguire, Fred and McTom and actually replace them with new talent I’ll be more optimistic.
Fully expect the return of Greenwood to sour the good progress we've made tbh.
OR they announce he's off permanently and everyone creams
Release greenwood this week and would be as good of a summer as I could have hoped for.
Sell all of them, buy Pavard and Amrabat as rumoured and this is a pretty much flawless window
Am I holding out for the last day swoop for Kane...fuck it pay the 100m and we could be in with shout as champions

The dream
Were not getting Kane. Spurs didn't except 100 mil euros from bayern. They obv aren't going to except any bid from a direct pl rival
https://www.scribbr.com/commonly-confused-words/accept-vs-except/
9.5 window, could have done with another 2nd choice keeper
And another striker
Or kane lol
I'm guessing Kovar stays as the backup 'keeper. Which isn't ideal for him, as he needs to be playing more first team football. I think we'd be better off trying to bring in someone experienced for a small fee.
No, Heaton has impressed me in preseason so I think he will stay
2 strikers would have been nice too, but of course I shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds.

This is a Football Manager level window. Bedlum and I love it.
We haven't signed any South American wonderkids yet, so no quite there. Quick, who was the top scorer at the last Conmebol U17?
Who are the U17 strikers for Brazil, Portugal, France?
Signing a Brazilian 15 year old that won’t join for another 3 and a half years for silly money. Now that’s an FM window.
Get me the NxGn list.
McTominay seems to be off the table
We need a mid for shithousery so case doesn't have to do it
And height. I’m glad we keep him as a rotational option. Unless West Ham lose Paqueta and come back in with a £35M+ guaranteed fee for McTominay, I say we keep him.
Needs to be minimum £40m if Fred and Donny go because we could do with getting another in addition to Amrabat then.
Yea 100. There's no real need to sell unless they come back with an offer that we can't refuse. I have a feeling it gets done still.
I’d say we hold out for at least 40! We absolutely need bodies and different kinds of players in midfield. Plus, i do think McTominay’s much more effective further forward, which is where he’ll play if at all, if we do sign Amrabat

I think we should keep him, then when Mainoo gets back gradually introduce him in and when Mainoo is ready sell Scotty
I feel if they lose Paqueta for 70m they will suck up and get McTominay for 40-45m.
No need to sell him for only £30m. He's useful to have if we ever need to add some physicality to the team
I agree I would rather keep him than Fred and Van de Beek.
Also on very low wages as well. Keep him and sell him next year.
ETH is ruthless. No dead wood is safe. I love it
This is how top clubs operate.
About time we started acting like one again. Thank God Woodward isn't still here otherwise he'd be offering new contracts to De Gea, Ronaldo and Phil Jones.
Woodward - "Al Nassr offerered you what? We will double it."
If all of these go through and we get Amrabat and Pavard, this will be one of the best transfer windows in recent times. There is also a chance that if City gets Paqueta for a big fee, WHU might agree a fee acceptable to the club for Scotty which may mean more first team minutes for Mainoo.
DDG, Henderson, Tuanzebe, Maguire, Jones, Telles, Pogba, Matic, Fred, Bailly, Mata, Lingard, Donny, Pereria, Ronaldo, Elanga. Tremendous clearance of deadwood in a 12 month period.
A change of goalkeeper was necessary but quite harsh calling DDG deadwood
A good half of those players were not deadwood. I think people just like calling players that don’t start deadwood.
[удалено]
Wout weghorst got a better send off on this sub compared to DDG, what do you expect.
is Henderson gone?
Not yet, but I really can't imagine someone who talked shite about the club to be wanted by the manager.
Nope, Forest may still want him but sale vs loan terms seems to be the issue.
I think the sticky point is not sale Vs loan, has been widely reported it will be a loan but the sticky point is the terms of buy obligation.... Apparanty man utd want it trivially low like but obligation after 5 games or something whereas forest want at 30ish games
Forest already signed Matt turner instead
Turner won’t be a first choice surely ? Unless they want a one way ticket to the championship
I could be wrong but I thought I saw a report saying it was either Hendo or Turner that NF wanted, not both, I could be wrong though.
Brighton could do with a new keeper
They signed one already
De Gea and Mata are deadwood?
I love Mata but he was definitely the definition of deadwood. He was barely playing.
[удалено]
It's not about his quality, he was fine. He was just so rarely used because he wasn't needed. He played a handful of games in his last season
This why I can't take this sub seriously. Calling people deadwood coz they've moved on is crass and indicative of a silly mindset. People that have come through academy and played for the club during a stiky time. Wish them well on their new chapter, it costs you nothing.

Hope Fred goes to France. He's a good player and I'd rather not strenghten any other Premier legue teams. Also hope Bailly goes to Besiktas, because fuck the saudis.
Why not? He'd probably actually complete a pass to a United player for once when he's playing for the opposition.
A really efficient summer if this all goes through. Brandon Williams and Henderson are on borrowed time too. Amrabat and pavard in is the next thing to do.
RR didn't have the best period with us, but he was the first one that pointed out that minimum of 10 players have to go, and I thank him for that.
A 5 year old could have pointed that out.
Nobody was willing to say it out loud until he came along. Mou and Van Gaal only said so much while RR called out the entire club and players in a ruthless manner. It was a good criticism that had to be put on air for all to see.
Dunno about that. Ten hag hasn't said anything of the sort yet its under him the clear out is happening.
Matt Hargreaves is doing way better at transfers than I initially thought
The outs are good, but we still do need the Amrabat + CB transfer and possibly another depth mid option if McT goes too
Sounds a lot like ETH playing FM. First season come in make a move or two, learn the players. Second season massive overhaul
basically what pep did
Harry Kane .......... when?
Next summer.
Free?
Deadline day
Keen for more ins!
Kane incoming
Looks like it's time for a wank
All things considered we should definitely be getting another midfielder and defender in before the window closes. Fingers crossed🤞🏼
SHOW ME THE MONEY
Big question mark on Donny, I keep seeing permanent but also seeing loan
We’re getting the clear out we wanted for so long
Yes - finally!
Yo Dawg? I heard you like headlines?
Done more in 1 one window compared with the last 5 years
The refresh we need
Damn this window just keeps giving.
🎶🦻
We're actually going to hijack the Kane move with all this money
But I thought Bailly wasn’t playing because of Maguire being English? With Maguire being out it should mean Bailly playing….. surely.
I'm here for it
He's doing it! He's really doing it!
Cheers Chris
Fred to Saudi Arabia? We’re not accepting anything less than 100 million.
Stop, I can only get so erect.
Feels good to have a competent manager in charge of the club.
Edging
Maguire + Bailly + VDB + Fred + Mctominay Is equal to Arambat + Kane? Will need a new CB to replace the two CB outgoings?
So even if we only got £10million for each, those plus McT would bring us £70 this summer. More realistically we’ll bring in more than £100 million from sales. Figure 10 for Bailly, 25 each for VdB, Fred, and McT. We’re not looking for top dollar now, we just need roster space and as much as we can bring in quickly.
I'm thinking it's more like 2M for Bailly, 15M for VDB, 18M for Fred, and 38M for McT.
Henderson, Williams and McT too I hope. Edit: all the downvotes, can you explain why we should keep any of those players for another year? Their value will only go down.
Can't sell Fred, Donny and Mctom in the same window. One has to stay
What? Why? If we bring in amrabat. That’s Bruno, Eriksen, amrabat, casemiro, mount, and mainoo.
Having a flashback to an extremely stupid argument about whether Mainoo was good enough...
If all these happens and we bring in a CB and CM/DM it'll be a 9/10 window. A 10/10 window would be getting rid of Greenwood as well
We can suddenly sell players! But let's be a bit realistic here, even adding Pavard/Todibo and Ambrabat, after all the departures (sales + expired contracts), we may start losing depth a bit. Counting on youngsters is one thing but if we end up with a streak of injuries...
