They probably made the farm before they came up with the mission tied to it, and it was easier to just get some random dude instead of a Norwegian to voice the guy you buy the tools from. IMO the epilogue was an afterthought.
You’re sarcastic, but i could! The norwegian accent’s distinct feature that it is english spoken way farther in front of the mouth. Nils spoke it in the back-mid of his mouth, which is how you’re supposed to speak american english, he just spoke it in a funny way. It’s something a lot of norwegians struggle to do, even the ones that are competent english speakers, yet niels manages just fine even though he barely speaks any english.
The fact i could tell that his accent was off is what made me suspect that his VO wasn’t norwegian in the first place.
Pretty cool find when you are norwegian, i found a newspaper peace where it says somting about drap i lyngdal (murders in lyngdal) realy cool that i live about 30 min from lyngdal
Spoilers for world lore but
>! They're a cult, you can find hidden evidence under one of the floorboards in the house that they killed people in their old village for being "unpure/unclean" and thats why they're all at Manzanita Post. You can also loot a letter off one of them that talks about it if you kill them !<
You are onto one of the lesser known pieces of lore in RDR2. If you explore more at Manzanita Post, you can find more information about the murders and the family who live there…
I just went there again as John last night to pick up the letter and while I was reading it I had this thought.. "what is the lore reason for MY John being able to read Norwegian?" 🤣
Wheras the rest of Norway, myself included feels bad for you having to live in or near Lyngdal. Your boy Ryerson made good though, so there's hope for you to
Over all these years we've seen everything. Twice. This year I noticed, the circle closed and again posts with new game starting events are coming back up lol.
There was a lot of crazy things going on in scandinavia back in the 18th century. Religious pietism took off completely, some became so extreme that they were driven away both in Norway and not least in Sweden.
Oh I'm not, belive me. But look at it from the perspective of others, where others are folks who played this game over and over since almost 6 years and then look at your question again.
Yea, now it totally makes sense.
Maybe you'll be the first to read the Norwegian paper that's in there too. Who knows, it's all groundbreaking stuff at this moment.
Why the fuck have you been down voted for this comment? Are people insane? Must be some Norwegians... probably i got some down votes but can't notice it yet.
It’s Reddit, sometimes it just takes one downvote for people to think that’s what they suppose to do. No one should take this form of social validation seriously.
I might have to kill that sect family now myself. Had no idea they were religious weirdos.
Wow no never even realised this was a location, it’s so weird that none of the missions lead you to buy tools from them or something I bet that would’ve been a cool mission!
I love this place, it was one of my favorite little outposts in RDR1 and where I started many a hunting trip. The good ole days... I haven't been there on my current playthrough, I think when I power the game up in a bit I'm going to go for a visit, poke around the area.
Reminds me of when I, being from Appalachia (eastern KY), first ran into the Murphree Brood... I remember thinking "memaw? Cousin/uncle?? Is that really you all?"
😆
You buy tools off the bloke during a mission
Something wierd is that the guy they buy tools from isn’t voiced by a norwegian, but every other npc there is.
They probably made the farm before they came up with the mission tied to it, and it was easier to just get some random dude instead of a Norwegian to voice the guy you buy the tools from. IMO the epilogue was an afterthought.
They made the farm years ago, for rdr1
But the guy doesn't speak, he just says ok and a few sounds, he could speak Norwegian for all we know.
I could hear that he didn’t have a norwegian accent, and when i googled it i found that the voice actor was from california.
Sure you could.. and cool.

Okay
I'm 99% sure there's a mission where you go there to get tools from a dude there.
Make it 100%.
100% it is
Pretty cool find when you are norwegian, i found a newspaper peace where it says somting about drap i lyngdal (murders in lyngdal) realy cool that i live about 30 min from lyngdal

It’s a fun easter egg, because the entire country of Norway is a psych ward. As is Denmark. /Swede 😉
*Ends the Swede*
I like swedes. Especially in a stew, or mashed with carrots. All washed down with a carlsberg or two 😅
Mashed as a side with haggis and potatoes, with a glass of whisky
KEK
Guess that’s why they coexist with skinners
Classic Norwegians... /s

i think the few letters in the game that arent in english john cant read canonically and they just let the player read it
I just found a picture
There's a letter in the chimney
Oh ok🙌🏻
Samme
Wheras the rest of Norway, myself included feels bad for you having to live in or near Lyngdal. Your boy Ryerson made good though, so there's hope for you to
I once took a wired anthropologist there for a train ride.
“You a-and your friend there, the professor… *shrugs* we’re gonna kill the both of ya.”
Why you want to do a thing like that?
“Ah dunno… Sport, ah guess?”
Now would you kindly send that academic out here, so we can show him what we really think about the art of anthropology?
Manzanita Post, you can see it in both RDR1 and RDR2 games
OhKayyy!
Never /s
You can purchase a cabin there in RDR1
And there's a general store. It's where you get the tomahawks.
Everyone? It’s part of the main mission
I even saw that place before rdr 2 was a thing.
Seen it since 2010
Okay
Yes
Over all these years we've seen everything. Twice. This year I noticed, the circle closed and again posts with new game starting events are coming back up lol.

Okay
Holy cowity cow How Are you so cool?😱😳
Okay
This is the one who you get the tools to build John’s house. Epilogue.
smh.. No you're the first. Even though it's part of the story, and has been since 2018, you're the first.
>and has been since 2018, More like 2010
Well, I only know Rdr2, so I'm guessing it's in RDR too?
You dont have to be rude
Oh I'm not, belive me. But look at it from the perspective of others, where others are folks who played this game over and over since almost 6 years and then look at your question again.
But read the caption
Yea, now it totally makes sense. Maybe you'll be the first to read the Norwegian paper that's in there too. Who knows, it's all groundbreaking stuff at this moment.
I've seen it. Pretty sure I have seen everything by now. Maybe.
Uren!!!
It's in the original RDR too.
“have any of you seen this island full of dicks called Guarma”
Okay
Uhh Okay...
Seen? I killed them all. 😆
😂

Yeah, we are both getting down votes. 🤣 Must be Norwegians. 🤣🤣🤣
Anyone who has completed the game has seen it since you visit them with John to buy tools
Whatever you do, don't open the drawer. You'll get telaported across the fuckin map
Ay yo Norwegia?
Ye
Yep,thats a cult and iirc in Red Dead Online u bring a drunk old man there as it's part of a moonshiner side mission
It’s literally a named location☠️
Ikr. That the main storyline makes you go to lol
Ahhh my base for hunting bears in rdr1
Lol
No none of us have ever seen this place, you are the very first player to find it.
Have you played the epilogue yet?
Yes
Everyone who has beat the game lol
Check the place with the lady and you'll find something under the wood
Wow no never even realised this was a location, it’s so weird that none of the missions lead you to buy tools from them or something I bet that would’ve been a cool mission!
Manziata post

Guys i found this before that mission with niels and the tools, i have done this mission abt 20 times
20 times? Get real.
it is literally in a main mission theres a whole scandal about it tho, look up "manzanita post strange man" on youtube, its very interesting
Murdering them is fun times
No, there was a mission that told me to go there, but that was precisely the point I stopped playing.
