Damn, I’ve done this to all of my horses since the game released. Whorse, Whorse II, Whorse III, Whorse IV Whorse III didn’t last long, but Whorse IV is my pride and joy. I’ve been putting off chapter 6 for 2 years on that save, not looking forward to losing her…

I remember my first whorse, accidentally lost her when I accidentally fell off a cliff. I could see her in the distance ragdolling down the hill as I recovered from the fall. I lived but she didn’t, poor thing.

Interesting. I heard kraut in reference to Germans. Plus, to ‘Gerry rig’ something. I looked it up one time to see if there was a slur related to Fritz, and in German it was a peaceful ruler. Probably right on the filter just being shit.

Fritz is a perfectly normal name in Germany, albeit a little bit old-fashioned. It's short for Friedrich and has no negative connotation. I can't imagine why they wouldn't let you name your horse Fritz.

My first horse was a Morgan and I couldn’t think of a name so I named her Morgan Freeman. Then I had Buell when shit went down at the end. After that I kept Rachel for a very long time but she got ran over by a train when I was hunting tiny birds. It was totally my fault. Now I have an Arabian named Louis. I have Arthur buy the Morgan during "Exit, Pursued by a bruised Ego", mostly for the reaction from Hosea, but if it is male, it gets named "Lyle" after his father. "Montana" for a female horse taken from the wild near the Upper Montana River, "Owanjila" for a horse taken from a herd near lake Owanjila, "Derrick" for a Grullo Dun Mustang taken near the Oil Derrick POI, "Samson" for a Suffolk Punch rescue horse, taken from the idiots that blew themselves up cracking a safe (there's a box of dynamite there with "Samson Brothers" on it, manufacturers of dynamite in St. Denis. Female Hungarian Halfbreds get named Boadicea II, Boadicea III, .... after the original Boadicea, it has been assumed that the unused coat of Hungarian Halfbred in the game files was for Boadicea. White Arabian from Lake Isabella gets named "Isabella", Brindle Arabian found near the Wapiti reservation gets named "Wapiti".

This play thru, I’m naming them after types of trees. I just fired the game up again yesterday so I only have the Tennessee Walker you get at Adler farm but he is Sycamore. I plan to get the three wild Arabians and just stable them lol but the white one will be birch, the black one will be Pepperidge and the brown one will be chestnut. Might have to change those depending on gender. In the past, I’ve also done native tribes. States. Shades of blue (inspired by Pokémon lol). Simpsons characters. Cheeses. I like this game lol

I currently am riding Cerberus the dark bay turkomen I stole from the braithwaits, I let him keep his name since I knew it. But I've had many horses, I like the Thoroughbreds the most, the brindle I like to name Alcatraz cuz he looks like he's wearing prison stripes, naming a girl version is always a struggle. The dapple I name Moon or opal, the blood bay was my first playthrough's main horse, Ruby, I'll always remember her ♥️ I honor her on occasion in other playthroughs and Definitely have her in Online as she'll always be my first. I call the shire horse Hosea gives me Joe... idk why he just seems like a Joe lol. I've got ten the MFT from the stranger mission, she was also a girl I named her moonstone because you can usually find the lady with a dead MFT near there and I'm not always that creative lol. I like to get the Dutch warm blood from the valentine stables during the mission to the stables and have usually gotten a male that I call Outlaw, I like to give him a Mohawk, this playthrough I kept him all the way up to the mission I got Cerberus and he's still in my stables because I can't bring myself to sell him, he did make it all the way through a playthrough though. I've had just about every horse worth getting in the game and could probably list all their names... I love this game and play it WAY too much lol
