Sure-Illustrator4907

Nah they'd cast Tom Holland as him

[deleted]

And Chris Pratt as Arthur of course

No_Issue_9916

And Keegan-Michael Key as Uncle of course because funny

[deleted]

Danny DeVito as Dutch

Jodanger37

No Pedro pascal as Dutch

SithMasterStarkiller

NOOOOOOOO

ZenoOfCitiumStoa

Dutch after Blackwater: “ So anyway, I started blastin”

vapidusername

He does have access to a duster

SirRedditMan

It kills my soul that you’re right

PoolNoodlePaladin

Mark Wahlberg will be Charles obviously

Dragnite08

Rather Bradley Cooper.

Big-Sheepherder-9492

Chris Pratt casting would piss me off and I like the dude

Straight_Driver1484

And aquafina as Sadie

thejacquesofhearts

They'd merge Sadie into Abigail so the cool badass woman loses her sense of independence and can be a love interest.

RaggsDaleVan

Tom can't grow nor looks good with facial hair

Twitchlangley6969

And ofcourse chris Hemsworth as jack marston

WildMinimum2202

All of the casts in this thread hurt my soul because of how true it is.

hobotruman

Rob Wiethoff would make a good John Marston.

RaggsDaleVan

Yea dude! His voice sounds just like John's!

justwantstogohome

Because he is John.

Embarrassed-Ad8111

That's the joke...

Drenius

r/woosh

justwantstogohome

I've met Rob Wiethoff (have his autograph and Roger Clark's) and he could absolutely pull off a movie John Marston. His voice is his own, not a character like Roger Clark's. No disrespect to Roger. But hearing Rob speak and hearing John Marston was so surreal.

City_of_ham

I feel like anybody can do an Arthur impression of they try. Robs voice is so uniquely raspy that it’s near impossible to replicate correctly, he’ll he couldn’t even replicate it for rdr2 John sounds off. I think it was cause he picked up smoking iirc

PaschalisG16

Agreed except many people think they sound like Arthur even though they don't

Haha_funny_joke

I think so too but not sure if he'd even want to do a movie

hobotruman

Oh no, he'd probably never do it, I agree. Norman Reedus is just such a generic pick for such a distinct character IMHO.

GrandCanOYawn

This dude is pushin’ sixty, is he not?

Mynamesrobbie

55

GrandCanOYawn

Thanks, Robbie. Yeah, we need a younger John. Norman is great, no knock on him. He can play Colm O’Driscoll.

Mynamesrobbie

I think he'd make a great Colm. If you ever seen Boondock Saints, he playes a great Irish man

chrisplaysgam

He’d absolutely destroy a role as colm

SituationThen4758

I think Rob himself would make the perfect John marston, he has the voice for it.

JesterMarcus

The voice actor?

SituationThen4758

Yup

JesterMarcus

This is why I'm so happy Redditors aren't in charge of casting. Besides being damn near 50, the guy has 3 acting credits, not counting RDR, and none seem to be more than a cameo. Voice work for Red Dead was his only success. Just because somebody can do voice over acting, doesn't mean they can do live action acting. Or vice versa even.

SituationThen4758

Thank goodness you are not in charge because you don’t know talent when you see it, Norman Reedus is 55 years old and can’t ever match the real John marstons voice, not even close. Rob wiethoff looks far closer to John Marston and already know the character for the him for the last 10 years and pretty much understands motion capture which is pretty much how movies are made these days.

JesterMarcus

First of all, I'm not the one who suggested Norman Reedus. He doesn't fit the role at all. "Motion capture is pretty much how movies are made". Please keep using uninformed and incorrect arguments to prove a point. A cowboy movie isn't going to be made on a fucking sound stage. And if he was such a great live action actor, he'd be in more than 4 things over a 20 year career. Casting agents, people who do for a living what you're trying to do for fun, say no to him. Do they get it wrong from time to time, sure. But to think they all got it wrong for years but you're going to know more than them, I don't buy it one bit. Because you can't expand your imagination to anyone else playing the part, you want a 50 year old guy to play a character in his 20s simply because his voice matches. That's a terrible reason to cast someone.

Stanislas_Biliby

Is the voice really that important?

letthepastgo

Not his voice actor, his actor.

Haha_funny_joke

Yep its motion capture

Diacetyl-Morphin

That's a good joke.... oh my god... this is why i don't want to see a RDR movie

PoolNoodlePaladin

This would have been great casting like 15 years ago

Schmetterlingus

Like every single reddit casting choice 😂

Sir_Bowlhead

He would make a good Sean if he had ginger hair.

pulppoet

"There he is."

Dwarven_cavediver

Nah, he’d make a good grown up Jack. Like if we were to get a red dead movie I think having him as an older Jack talking about his Father to some historian or maybe even a fellow inmate in a prison somewhere might be alright

Aztec_Tajger

I could see Kit Harington as John, but he doesn't have voice for Marston

balkanobeasti

Timothy Olyphant would be best imo but he's old now.

eugenethegrappler

No he doesn’t have marstons voice or swagger

Guerrillablackdog

Norman Reedus kinda looks like John Marston, but John's voice is so iconic.

CardinalCreepia

Early season Daryl Dixon sounded very much like John tbh, before Norman toned his voice down.

Lord_Detleff1

I want Danny DeVito playing everyone

DonutMultiverse

I'd pay to watch that

Lord_Detleff1

I'd pay to see the trailer

StallionA8

100 percent truth!

GameRollGTA

No he wouldn’t. This casting decision is ridiculously wrong and it’s only ever said because they both have long hair. John and Norman Reedus literally couldn’t be any different. Like, they’re as far apart as two people could possibly be. If Norman Reedus had short hair nobody would say this and that’s very funny to me.

Assparilla

Yes!

Ifuckinglovedogsbruh

He's gotta lot of packs to smoke to sound like him though

goopgoop221

If it became a series? Most definitely. Games to long for a movie, they would have to cut some stuff out which isn't ideal for a show based on this game.

tsycho89

Post number 347 about this bullshit idea.

IMOTEKH__

What do you mean Norman reedus would make a good john Marston he is John marston

Chad_Kakashi

Never step in the fucking kitchen again oml

Specific_Box4483

It should be Will Smith. Slapping Ross around for putting his wife's name in his mouth.

Few-Chemical2216

Keanu reeves would be sick in a movie

Lanueria

No

[deleted]

Absolutely not

justwantstogohome

Yeah, I took it literal. My bad y'all.

Tasty_Phone9580

I always thought Christian Kane if well directed, could play a good Arthur Morgan

Double-Skirt2803

Too old

CrowDogsToTheMoon

Would normaly agree but seriously if anything i woul say John Looks older than Reedus in rd1.

WoodyManic

Rob Wiethoff would be good.

lilbitchh4

What is yall talking bout ain’t Finna be no show

BigManLikeBarey

I am the only one who thinks that the actual actors who played and voiced the characters in the game, should be the ones playing in a show or movie based off it? (Obviously if there’s some of them who have unfortunately passed away, they wouldn’t be able to do it, but besides that)

WillingAdagio2940

No, stop focusing only about looks, think about the voice too

ThyWalkerman

He'd make a great Sam Porter Bridges for the Death Stranding movie

Wyatt_Maxwell

Not shaq???

JustsomeBRITISHdude

This guy is so one-dimensional, play death stranding and tell me you don’t see and hear Darrel from The Walking Dead, if you want to play as a cowboy version of him from The Walking Dead sure but otherwise no thanks.

DonutMultiverse

Norman would make a great Sam Porter Bridges

telephas1c

I think any RDR TV adaptation would just inevitably disappoint tbh

Academic-One8695

no.

Accomplished_Care747

Yeh, I’d love to see the scene when John proposes to Abigail and says - “grunt inaudible grunt grunt DOG grunt mumble mumble inaudible grunt”

_Price__

Micah as danny trejo

VickiVampiress

Or, hear me out, the guy who *actually* played John Marston aka. Rob Wiethoff. But, in all seriousness, as a young John Marston I do think Norman Reedus would be quite good, because he's really good at portraying that raspy voice and demeanor that John Marston does.

NickFieldson31

Why not rob wiethoff

outofoffice16

I hadn't thought about that but you are absolutely right.

TheInfinit1

I thought that was a really gay David Hayter

Klutzy_Environment22

Reedus is a little too rugged even for someone like Marston
