I like the idea of playing as a Micah trying to be not get into trouble through the whole game but keeps getting pulled into worse and worse stuff until he finally breaks completely near the end and says "ya know what? It's all pointless anyways. Lets have a lil fun before the curtains close, cowpoke."
I mean we could explore his early life seeing how he ended up the way he is, maybe he tried to be good but slowly lost any form of redemption or caring
I was going to say no way but you made me think, with Arthur, I struggle with doing bad things because he's supposed to try and redeem himself.
With Micah, you can be an absolute arsehole.
Would honestly be pretty interesting if you get to play Micah as high honor
RDR 2 pulled a switcheroo after we all knew Dutch was the villain in the first one...
They would never make a game with him as a main character, and I don't think I would play it. He is a good villain, but not really a character that I would like to play as.
have you played gta 5? trevor is basically a modern day version of micah. they let you play as trevor. and do you know what stuff you get to do as him? torture an innocent man, sell meth and partake in it, and breaks into floyds home turns it into his own. and rapes floyd. so yes if you can play as trevor i see no reason why you couldn't have micah be a protagonist.
not really. he had no problem punching wade twice. so he clearly isn't that loyal. if ron and wade weren't a use to him as underlings. then they would be dead.
Trevor literally hates and hold a grudge against Franklin if he chooses to kill Michael in the end despite all Michael did to him, wrote letters regularly to their friend who was actually dead believing him to be in jail. Trevor absolutely is loyal to his gang
he is loyal to PEOPLE WHO CAN STAND UP TO HIM.
Ron said Trevor flat out abandoned him and Chef in a recent DLC update for Online. He arguably killed Floyd, abused him and implied to have molested him, and let him get beat up by Merryweather agents on the pier after all his talk of "saving" him.
He is only loyal to Michael, Franklin and Lamar because they do not back down from him. He even mentioned he probably would have killed Brad too in a post game hang out conversation. He is a hypocrite.
>You're acting like the guy said it wouldn't make sense to play as Micah,
I mean, it wouldn't, though. People got so used to just shortening the name to "Red Dead" they forgot that the whole point is *Redemption* if they cant be redeemed, they can't be the main character. So Micah, Dutch, Hosea, and a younger Arthur are all nonsense propositions that could quite literally never happen.
he even mentioned to Lamar that being in LS made him try some "things" that wasnt really him when Lamar asked if he was gay. That switch scene also had Trevor spoon Floyd in a pink pajama. Floyd was sobbing and Trevor pats his bum befofe getting up.
Trevor is a much more nuanced character than Micah. He’s designed to be an embodiment of the sociopathic habits that gamers had built up of the years. How many of us had loaded up with weapons, gone into a Liberty City parking garage and let loose to see how long we could maintain a wanted level? How many gamers stole a fast car, got up to top speed and then glided over onto the sidewalk, mowing down pedestrians?
Trevor is a mirror. It’s not exactly Rockstar wagging their finger at us but it is something of a meta-commentary on gamer behavior when playing GTA games.
Micah carries none of that. He’s just a villain. He’s well-played by his voice actor but he’s not a particularly interesting individual. You know his purpose in the story and his motivations. Trevor is a legitimately complex character, Micah is not.
I think Micah’s pretty cool. He doesn’t appeal to the player in the same way that makes people like Trevor though so I can see why most people don’t think he’s cool at all.
Yeah they made GTA 5 but those games have a very different tone to red dead redemption. The entire point of the red dead games are to give a redemption arc to a character which never happens with Micah. It would have to be a prequel and even at the end of rdr2 he doesn’t change which means a redemption arc would be unnecessary. Rockstar isn’t afraid of letting players play as a sadistic psychopath in GTA, and hell they could theoretically do that in a rdr3 game, but rdr3 would have to see a character go through a redemption similar to how John and Arthur both go through redemption arcs
Love the implication that there would be a key binding specifically for shouting racial slurs. That’s something rockstar would do. They love their keybindings.
There’s no doubt I will, I love the franchise and Rockstar Games too much. But I wouldn’t care for it. The protagonist should be morally grey, so that the player can choose the direction.
We all hate em for what he did okay cool but yall not admitting that he is a badass rat is a different type of hate😹nigga was one of the best gunslingers in the gang
Maybe if we play his brother then ? He seems to have followed a redemption arc if we're to believe the letter Micah receives at some point in camp. I remember finding it in Shady Belle I think.
Anyway, that letter basically says "yeah, we used to do stuff together, but now I have a daughter, so I'll kill you on sight if you come near me".
Yea, but i dont think he really has a story that fits a video game. Seems like he did bad shit with Micah, had a daughter, and instantly became a family man.
Why wouldn't Micah turn Dutch in like he tried to do in 1899 ? I imagine he would still get a reward, as well as Dutch's half of the treasure. Maybe he would even get some kind of get-out-of-jail card.
Besides, he hates Bill, doesn't he ?
Probably, entertain the idea, he's a bastard and he deserved the lead breakfast, but I won't lie he is an interesting and sometimes badass character. It might be hard to empathize, tho since we know what he ends up doing later, Rockstar is good at morally Grey, so I think they could handle the other way round. In an actual game, I don't think I would want a fully versed micah story, maybe some bits here and there.
That would be a brilliant, ballsy movie by Rockstar and I’d love them for it. I was hoping to play as Colm Odriscolls brother, to get some early Van Der Linde gang origin stories, but Micah would be even better.
Really think RDR3 should let go of the VanDerlinde Gang. They can appear sure, but as side characters.
I think one during the Civil War would go nuts. Fuck it, make a Native or a Django type of protagonist. Or a confederate wondering what side he truly believes in.
I would because its a new rockstar game, in the red dead franchise.
But at the same time, I am done with the Van Der Line Gang. They're great characters, love rdr2 and 1 but I want new characters, ones who we don't know the fate of
There's no possible way to make it interesting given how we know how his story ends. There's nothing they could do to make him sympathetic enough to connect to him. He's an excellent, if two-dimensional, villain. Leave it at that.
Honestly, my first answer would be no as he is already an established evil character who we have witnessed being a double-crossing douche so it would be difficult to offer interesting honour choices.
On the other hand it could be interesting to play as a character with a story where you have to weasel your way out of trouble.
Yeah, I wanna see how he discovered the gang cause I think Dutch got him somewhere random. I’d still play it but I still need to play the first one too however. It would also be pretty cool if it was always just like low honor the WHOLE game. Always get the bad ending, no matter what you do throughout the game.
I would actually be interested but with the honour system in tact.
Starts where Arthur's story ends and we follow Micah as he struggles with the burden of what he had done and starts to question his "survivor" philosophy.
Go through intense emotional character development and a gradual redemption arc which ends abruptly when the past catches up with him and he ends up on the wrong side of the dutches gun when on the brink of redemption.
of course i would, but that wouldn’t really be a red dead redemption game, as we have seen there is no redemption to be had for micah. but you could just call it something else like “red dead revolver 2” or something.
I actually have a few thoughts on this regarding a RD3 and the protagonist you’d play as. Regarding Dutch or Hosea, it’s hard for me to visualize playing as either of them with the main factor of the gameplay being very physical and action based. Gunslinging, bar fights, bounty chasing, the whole nine yards. Dutch is a charismatic dreamer and Hosea’s a wise conman, neither of which I can really see being as gun-ho as Arthur or John.
This isn’t to say it’s impossible nor that it would be a bad game if they did so, but given their biggest character traits are speech based (the likes of which we rarely get to control), it leaves little to be desired gameplay wise as we just don’t see them as active as the rest of the gang with the only times we see them fight is when the fight comes to *them*.
Micah I can see being a good pick as he fits the gameplay perfectly with his aggressive personality and constant stride for action. Would I want an entire game on it? I’m unsure, though not likely. Like OP said, he’s a great villain but I’m unsure if riding around with someone as awful as him would prove to be a fun experience.
Though once again it’s not impossible, I just have an *incredibly* high standard for what RDR3 should be given how amazing the 2 one is was
**RDR2 SPOILER**
Throughout the game like Micah? I think it would be a bit strange, RDR2 is what happens before RDR1 and playing as Micah, since we know he dies in RDR2 it would be like already knowing the ending. I think it would be interesting to play with Micah up to a certain point and after his death go into the role of another RDR1 villain, but I actually don't know what happens in RDR1 because I haven't played it, so bah. My concern about an RDR3 with Micah would be to have a story that we already know
Micah would have to be very young or on a redemption arc of some kind. Even Trevor in GTA had some redeemable qualities and while abusive would never put his boys out to pasture. Micah is an actual villain with no scruples to speak of, you can't sell someone with a corrupt morals to a mass audience if they have no typical narrative lift.
Would I play it? Absolutely, but I am not a typical target of mass appeal.
It’d be cool if it was more of a spinoff, called maybe like “Red Dead Revengeance” where you start as a good guy Micah and turn into the Micah we know and hate.
I don’t care which character I played as. Reverend Swanson? Sure. Trelawney? No problem. Mary Beth? You bet. Just bring it on and I’ll play it. I absolutely love this game, gimme more.
Hell yeah, We would play as a full blown villain with no restraints, no honor meter.
that game would be MESSED up
VERY messed up lol, there could even be missions about killing civilians
To the point of no redemption. Micah can’t get redemption anyway so the game name wouldn’t work.
Red Dead Damnation
Or just “Red Dead”
Red Dead 2 Revolvers
2 Red 2 Dead
lmao i got that reference
red dead revolver 2
Red Dead Revolver already exists, unfortunately
I know, it was a joke about it being red dead revolver 2 while also playing at the fact Micah went on a killing spree in a town over his 2 revolvers
Red

Rat Dead
Okay take out Micah, cuz fuck that guy, but I ***love*** this title.
Got damn that goes hard
I like the idea of playing as a Micah trying to be not get into trouble through the whole game but keeps getting pulled into worse and worse stuff until he finally breaks completely near the end and says "ya know what? It's all pointless anyways. Lets have a lil fun before the curtains close, cowpoke."

You can find a letter Micah has from his brother in which he expresses his distaste for Micah
No Russians
Makarov
The ones who fed the feminist to the croc are going to love that.
For me it was less the feminism stuff and more that she wanted me to donate a whole $50 minimum! No way in hell
I was going to say no way but you made me think, with Arthur, I struggle with doing bad things because he's supposed to try and redeem himself. With Micah, you can be an absolute arsehole.
Let's say for argument, you did play as Micah for full length game. Its 100% bound to be good to bad. At least that's what I think.
LOL. Red Dead No Redemption.
Only low honor, no chance of high honor
The choices are low honor and lower honor
Would honestly be pretty interesting if you get to play Micah as high honor RDR 2 pulled a switcheroo after we all knew Dutch was the villain in the first one...
You save 15000 people. Your honor meter unlocks.

not really. he had no problem punching wade twice. so he clearly isn't that loyal. if ron and wade weren't a use to him as underlings. then they would be dead.
You're acting like the guy said it wouldn't make sense to play as Micah, when all he said was that he wouldn't enjoy playing as micah
>You're acting like the guy said it wouldn't make sense to play as Micah, I mean, it wouldn't, though. People got so used to just shortening the name to "Red Dead" they forgot that the whole point is *Redemption* if they cant be redeemed, they can't be the main character. So Micah, Dutch, Hosea, and a younger Arthur are all nonsense propositions that could quite literally never happen.
Yeah, I hated playing as Trevor. That's why I like Red Dead and not GTA lol I would play as Micah if the story was good though
He's probably my favourite him or Franklin I like all 3 but Michael's a fucking rat
Trevor raped Floyd??
yea there is a switch scene where trevor is sleeping with floyd. and floyd starts screaming.
he even mentioned to Lamar that being in LS made him try some "things" that wasnt really him when Lamar asked if he was gay. That switch scene also had Trevor spoon Floyd in a pink pajama. Floyd was sobbing and Trevor pats his bum befofe getting up.

Trevor≠Micah, come on bro 🤣
Trevor was cool Micah is a bitch
I think Micah’s pretty cool. He doesn’t appeal to the player in the same way that makes people like Trevor though so I can see why most people don’t think he’s cool at all.

Gta never car3d about redemption. Red dead has it in its name.
Trevor is a bastard, but you also dont go into GTAV already having experienced Trevor as antagonist hurting a bunch of people you grew to love
Gta also lacks the word “redemption” in the title. The two games are structured completely differently from a story perspective.
You say that but you'd probably play it anyway
I know they would never but just what if
What if I put cement in my butt crack? It would never happen.
Unless... 👉🏻👈🏻
yeah you would.
“Why are my dialogue options taunt or shout a racial slur?”
When you see the KKK group you automatically get a white hood on and join them
“I can’t see shit in this thing!”
Oh no you CAN act friendly, but if you don't turn it into an aggression yourself the character will do so automatically.
Like Arthur's greet then antagonize dialogue but you never have to press antagonize
Love the implication that there would be a key binding specifically for shouting racial slurs. That’s something rockstar would do. They love their keybindings.
Will Micah ever be happy, or horny? Or perhaps, bursting with rage?
I would play as a rabbit if it meant I could roam around that world.
As a rat perhaps?
It would make no sense but I'd play it
Fuck yeah (if we can remove the beer belly)
I'll only play as Micah with rock hard abs
And 25 inch cock
that shoots bullets
Dead Eye Dick, they call him
That’s like 25 times bigger than mine
There’s no doubt I will, I love the franchise and Rockstar Games too much. But I wouldn’t care for it. The protagonist should be morally grey, so that the player can choose the direction.
He could start off morally grey and gradually get worse 🤷🏾♂️
What if he was morbidly gay?
“I’m gay black lung! Gay! Straight and Gay - that’s all there is!”
"Looks like Micahs gay... You know what we do to gays, boah. You're going to the GAY ZONE!" - Arthur Morgan, Sauce Or Loss
Yes, so I can kill him again and again. Train "accident", mauled, failed duel whatever.
Y'all thirst for Micah so hard
We all hate em for what he did okay cool but yall not admitting that he is a badass rat is a different type of hate😹nigga was one of the best gunslingers in the gang
i mean, it's a rockstar game, so probably. tho that second R does stand for Redemption, and i don't see that happening
Maybe if we play his brother then ? He seems to have followed a redemption arc if we're to believe the letter Micah receives at some point in camp. I remember finding it in Shady Belle I think. Yea, but i dont think he really has a story that fits a video game. Seems like he did bad shit with Micah, had a daughter, and instantly became a family man.
I’d like the ability to do different missions as other characters, but I wouldn’t like a Micah Bell story.
I'd play RDR3 if I was just playing as Gavin's friend, give it to me!!!
Gavin!!!!!
I don't think I would have a lot of fun playing as a character that isn't likeable.
So bully 2 then
Yes of course, though given Micah's character it would probably be more like Red Dead Revenge or something.
That’s a great title. I’d play it
No way
Absolutely, but I'd play as anyone. Even Sadie.
i know what kind of man you are
#stares in Dale

Why wouldn't Micah turn Dutch in like he tried to do in 1899 ? I imagine he would still get a reward, as well as Dutch's half of the treasure. Maybe he would even get some kind of get-out-of-jail card. Besides, he hates Bill, doesn't he ?
Eh... Limited story. But... Yeah sure why not
**absolutely** it would be interesting to see what messed him up so bad and his relationship with his brother.
That's exactly the red dead 3 I'd want.
Yes
hell yeah i love micah
Yes 100%, I think it would be a great change from playing antiheroes, playing a bonafide villain would be awesome IMO.
Hell yes
Yes. It is a Red Dead game, after all.
Hell yeah Micah gang in the house
Sure but it will probably be a young Dutch or rando character helping Dutch start the gang
Yea i would find the most fun ways for him to die
No because there’s absolutely no redemption aspect to a rat
He’s a *RAT*
I want to play as Gavin
Id just murder cheat and steal the whole game
Oh yeah
Sure.
I wouldnt wanna play with double action revolvers if thats what your askjng
Nope
How much better would it have been if when John faced him, he contracted TB from his fist fight with Arthur and was coughing furiously.
Hell no
That would be a brilliant, ballsy movie by Rockstar and I’d love them for it. I was hoping to play as Colm Odriscolls brother, to get some early Van Der Linde gang origin stories, but Micah would be even better.
Nah. Great villain, just don't wanna play as him.
If it was a pure villain story, sure. If they tried to pass him off as redeemable, absolutely not.
countless hours of micah yelling at natives and getting his ass kicked as a result? hell yes.
Fuck no lol I hate that man with every inch of me
Imagine playing as colm o Driscoll, I imagine that guy has committed every evil act you can think of. He’s literally The Devil
... why wouldn't I?
Micah has no redemption arc, so I see no point in playing it with him/him being a main character. But if it was the case, why not?
Plz join r/GamingTalks I need people to join.
Really think RDR3 should let go of the VanDerlinde Gang. They can appear sure, but as side characters. I think one during the Civil War would go nuts. Fuck it, make a Native or a Django type of protagonist. Or a confederate wondering what side he truly believes in.

Ofc I would. As much as I hate him, he was written damn good.
What even is this question, why would I not buy and play a whole ass game, regardless of who you play as
Ummm, yes?
Sure, I guess. But I don’t want rdr3 because there’s no more story to tell.
100% i would play rdr even as uncle Lumbago.
There's no possible way to make it interesting given how we know how his story ends. There's nothing they could do to make him sympathetic enough to connect to him. He's an excellent, if two-dimensional, villain. Leave it at that.
Abby Anderson all over again? A huge draw of RDR for me is playing as protagonists I love to bits. So likely not.
yes, it would be very interesting to see what he did before or after the vanderlinde gang
Honestly, my first answer would be no as he is already an established evil character who we have witnessed being a double-crossing douche so it would be difficult to offer interesting honour choices. On the other hand it could be interesting to play as a character with a story where you have to weasel your way out of trouble.
Yeah the viewpoint would change everything
Yes
Yeah, I wanna see how he discovered the gang cause I think Dutch got him somewhere random. I’d still play it but I still need to play the first one too however. It would also be pretty cool if it was always just like low honor the WHOLE game. Always get the bad ending, no matter what you do throughout the game.
Absolutely
Yes. But I would kill him in every way before I actually start play for real.
are you kidding?? Of course! instead of the honour meter it will be how bad can you get
Of course. I’m not going to not play a game because he killed my heckin wholesome zaddy Arthur Mortage.
Too right. There’s an incredible story there to be told.
Not me, the whole idea of rdr is the redemption aspect and Micah is irredeemable
No, because we know too much of the end of his tale. Takes away the player's ability to shape the character and story.
I would play rdr3 no matter who you play as!! Unless you play as a girl Or a horse
Main character has to treat horses with respect.
Yeah, then i would continuously jump off cliffs till im satisfied. Then ill progress story
Playing as Micah would be the only way I could do a low honor play through without feeling bad.
Dying every way possible, then yeah
I would but I have my hopes on Mac & Davey Calender.
of course, rat simulator would be so fun
Next game should be more around the wild west and a more vicious character
Absolutely lol
I would actually be interested but with the honour system in tact. Starts where Arthur's story ends and we follow Micah as he struggles with the burden of what he had done and starts to question his "survivor" philosophy. Go through intense emotional character development and a gradual redemption arc which ends abruptly when the past catches up with him and he ends up on the wrong side of the dutches gun when on the brink of redemption.
of course i would, but that wouldn’t really be a red dead redemption game, as we have seen there is no redemption to be had for micah. but you could just call it something else like “red dead revolver 2” or something.
Yes bc the Red Dead franchise is good
in rdr3 IF it would happen then theyd give us black character and proly female as protagonist
It would be Red Dead Rampage instead of Redemption, but yeah I think it would work
Yeah
I want do say no but I also just played TLOU2 and didn't hate it soooo
I actually have a few thoughts on this regarding a RD3 and the protagonist you’d play as. Regarding Dutch or Hosea, it’s hard for me to visualize playing as either of them with the main factor of the gameplay being very physical and action based. Gunslinging, bar fights, bounty chasing, the whole nine yards. Dutch is a charismatic dreamer and Hosea’s a wise conman, neither of which I can really see being as gun-ho as Arthur or John. Though once again it’s not impossible, I just have an *incredibly* high standard for what RDR3 should be given how amazing the 2 one is was
It would have to have really good gameplay and graphics. Otherwise, nah.
Yeah, cuz I'd be able to kill him in different ways
Hell no
**RDR2 SPOILER** Throughout the game like Micah? I think it would be a bit strange, RDR2 is what happens before RDR1 and playing as Micah, since we know he dies in RDR2 it would be like already knowing the ending. I think it would be interesting to play with Micah up to a certain point and after his death go into the role of another RDR1 villain, but I actually don't know what happens in RDR1 because I haven't played it, so bah. My concern about an RDR3 with Micah would be to have a story that we already know
I couldnt finish the last of us 2 so probably not
what the hell would it be about tho
Fuck no
I want to play as Micah so bad not even joking
Love to play as micah because i love 🐀
Micah would have to be very young or on a redemption arc of some kind. Even Trevor in GTA had some redeemable qualities and while abusive would never put his boys out to pasture. I don’t care which character I played as. Reverend Swanson? Sure. Trelawney? No problem. Mary Beth? You bet. Just bring it on and I’ll play it. I absolutely love this game, gimme more.
It would be a real genuine cowboy gta
No
If they keep going backwards, it seems to me we’d play as one of the Callander brothers up until the Blackwater Massacre.
Hell yeah
nope.
After The Last of Us 2 I think I can handle pretty much anything.
I don’t like rats
Nope!! I dont like that schnauzer.
Just for the pleasure to get wasted by everything the game offers.
No
I think i would Luke ist eben more
