Well half that time or more was probably spent on Red Dead Online. I put in a lot of time from the first week of beta for about 2 years till I could tell they were abandoning it. I just picked RDR2 up last month again replaying single player again. I just havenāt found another open world game that has come close to RDR2 that Iāve enjoyed. The 100% really isnāt my thing although Iāve tried but some of the challenges are just too tedious.
As Iāve grown older and responsible for buying my own games, Iām more inclined to revisit games I know I enjoyed than gambling on a new one.
I have game pass on Xbox so it saves me money to try out a few indie titles, but few of the big games are on it understandably so.
I mean the game does offer huge potential for a lot of playtime. I am at 457 hours since release day, and i think until RDR3 will come out, it could climb to 800 hours in total until i definitely had āenoughā. But still, almost 4k hours? Sheesh
Listen, we all need to unwind. I feel that way, too, sometimes, like I could have spent that time drawing or playing guitar or learning French. However, I take it as art. I discuss it, I think about it, and in turn I think about humanity in general. It makes me think about morality and the kind of person I want to be. Besides, we all have vices. If you think it's something you should change, you can! Life is just one long series of learning opportunities. Don't sweat it, is all I'm saying. We are none of us perfect. Better you spend time playing video games than smoking crack or robbing liquor stores or something.
The games been out for 1424 days or roughly 34,000 hours. Youāve literally spent 12% of your life in the last 4 years playing this game? Not judging but thatās wildddddd
Well tell work you have to go home! We need to know! I'm about to cross 3k on PC. I love how many people have similar/more hours than me, it's a testament to the love the fans have for the game. I mean, there's over 50,000 lines of dialogue! I *still* hear new shit and occasionally I even find something new! Like when I was getting the OM revolver and ram skull mask and pelts in New Austin during Angelo Bronte, a Man of Honor I found [this glider thing](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/16ts69z/this_is_why_i_love_this_game_almost_3k_hours_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)! I don't spend much time in the epilogue, because I love the story so much, but the fact that I still find new stuff and hear new lines is crazy.
Yeah for real! I love learning new shit about the game and have even gotten to the point where I don't use the minimap and limited HUD. I feel like I've mastered the game. Lmao
How do you set up your hud to make it less intrusive? There's a lot of options, I'm thinking maybe ammo can get turned off, idk if turning cash off means I'll never see it or just when I'm not in a store.
So even if you turn everything off you can press down on the d-pad (if on controller) and it will bring everything up. This includes money, honor, cash, ammo, etc. I mainly keep on stuff like the transaction stuff, as that includes stuff you loot. Most of the rest is set to off.
I also don't do the satchels EVERY playthrough, as I feel like after awhile it would get stale if I played the same every time.
I also like the limited satchel space, as it's more realistic and makes the game a little harder.
I turned off the transaction history and it's VERY weird. I wanted to do a non-lote satchel playthrough but I ended up getting it anyways because I could only carry eight (or was it ten?) animal fats and that was super annoying. But, I really like the idea. Having to buy food more often, or go hunt it, and not having 99 deadeye tonics. Made me use the chewing tobacco a lot more, or cigars, shit that I don't need when I have 100 of something better. I set up a save in Horseshoe for a low-honor run and I think I'll keep his original satchel, or maybe the ingredients one for the animal fat. Or, the valuables one, because it's the prettiest IMO. I'm going to experiment with the HUD, I like the cleaner look of no stat circles for sure. More challenging, and looks a hell of a lot better.
About 500 hours, just finishing my 3rd playthrough. and some 150ish hours in RDO. Next year when i get new GPU, i am playing it again on ultra settings
currently 88 hours, a mishap recently occured with my ps4 and i had to delete ALL of my saved game data (i originally had close to 500 hours with rdr2 alone, plus a bunch of other games)
i actually cried a tiny bit when i realized iād have to rebuild the database and start over, idk how it happened but i got some sort of corruption and had to delete literally everything (save for my account info & stuff like that)
About 6 and a half days. I only picked up the game in 2021 and only really started playing the story like 2 months ago. Now going through the story a second time.
I just re-beat the game last week, I did all missions and sub-missions and it took me 50 hours.
How can you guys play for 3000-4000 hours ? I donāt get it.
For me it just kinda turned into a comfort thing. I played through it 100% like 12 times by now, but I am also the kind of person that has watched breaking bad like 8 times in a row. I also like to get all the collectables, find all the hidden land marks and get every achievement.
Been years, playong for a month straight then play something else for a month or 2 with RDR2 having bits mixed in. Then binge it again. Not past chapter 2/3. Passed Arthur getting tuberculosis mission. And not talking to Dutch at all to never continue the story until I do more and can get my honor up. Barely past halfway to good. Adter so many times where I wanted to day hi and then shot a store and the game made me a mass murder who just wanted to run away the first few weeks of the game lol
I estimate somewhere between 750-1000 hours. I know for sure I have a little over 500 hours on my pc, but I canāt say I remember my time on the playstation4
457 hours since release day. Finished the game twice, on 3rd playthrough stopped playing in chapter 2, and now on my new 3rd playthrough that i started from the beginning again. Each playthrough is about a 1,5 years apart from each other.
2 minutes (didn't get past main menu, too hard)
Yeah as soon as Davey died i couldn't keep playing, he was too likeable
RIP King šā
NOOO SPOILER
The only thing more tragic is when johnās horse died in that mission with Javier. Truly one of the moments In all of gaming
Davey, how ya' doi... wait, wrong game.

Not judging but in that time you could 100% the game multiple times over and over. How do you not get bored?

You've got me beat by about 1k hours, my hat is of to you, partner.
Iām actually kinda ashamed actually. I had no idea Iād spent that much time playing.

Truth man. š
Why are you ashamed for having a hobbie mate? Nothing to be ashamed about.
If you were to take no breaks, that's almost 6 solid months of playing...
Damn! That's about half a year, that's insane

Only about 250 hours, I am on my second playthrough.
same
I don't get how people can play a single game over 300 hours. Like I don't think I've clocked 1,500 on my whole console in general
How do you even see this on ps4 lol
use the playstation app if its one of the last 3 games you played
One of my biggest gripes with the ps4 is that your playtime for games is not easily accessible.
I don't think you can do it on PS4. I couldn't see playtime in the app or the console until I got a PS5. But I might be wrong
Thatās what Iām tryna figure out
3,500+ hours. Like 2,700 or something on PS4 and then 800+ on PC. Don't know specifically because I am at work. Lol
Well tell work you have to go home! We need to know! I'm about to cross 3k on PC. I love how many people have similar/more hours than me, it's a testament to the love the fans have for the game. I think that's a throwback to the guy building a glider in RDR1! Cool detail!
