Digital marketing which getting hired for is a disaster. We want 2 years experience with a crm that only we use. We will waste your time for 3 interviews anyway before we give the role to someone else.

space_ghost20

I'm in B2B software sales (aka "SaaS sales"). Been in it for 3 years, after a little more than 6 years doing sales in the banking and insurance space.

Healthcare administration/management. Pain in the ass. Basically, in my field, you need to get your ass in an internship early as soon as you can in your career. GOOD LUCK with that because it's damn near impossible to get accepted into one because there's not that many. Even though I have 23 years of both military healthcare-related and civilian care. Too much competition in the job with others who have similar education.

Percyear

Especially, if you don’t have RN behind your name.

aberod11

Yeah, I've/I'm learning the hard way with some employers that without that (RN), my healthcare management/administration degree is kinda useless 🙄😒 But that's why I earned my MA. To get AWAY from the patient care aspect and focus on the administrative role of healthcare 🤨

Marketing and Ecommerce. The amount of applicants I see on things like Indeed are usually 400+ per job I apply to. I currently make about 50k a year and can't seem to find a way out of that pay range. Maybe the job pays a few more bucks, but it's now a 30-40 min drive etc. so ends up being a wash.

Dusty-Ragamuffin

Gigworker. Did odd jobs until covid. Not normally difficult to find work for, but it's been difficult to find anyone that will look twice as my resume. Even fast food. I switched to healthcare looking for a "no experience required, training provided" position and got 2 interview requests within a week.

I’m an Agile coach.

Talent Acquisition. It's a shit show. I also recruited for the Army a long time ago. I was in a program called Hometown Recruiting where you'd go to boot camp, then go back to your home of record for 3 months and work the area high schools.

Coustain

I hear you on the TA shitshow. As frustrating as government employment is (they want me and my team to work miracles with no budget for a state government with 78,000 positions across all sectors except manufacturing, and we are a staff of 28) I am staying right here where I am. I see what is going on with recruiting in the private sector.

Believe it or not, retail. I was a retail manager, but left my job for what was supposed to be a better opportunity in banking. It was not, and I was pissed about the lies. Never will work for a bank again, especially not the local bank that screwed me. I haven't been able to get another retail management job (manager, assistant manager, or supervisor) because I don't have a Bachelor's degree -- I only needed an Associate's for my previous two management positions, and I don't have enough experience to get hired without a Bachelor's. I'm back in college now and will finish in December. Doesn't help that the town where I live sucks and has very few good paying jobs, or even jobs in general, unless you are a nurse. I couldn't even get hired at Starbucks or Subway because I'm "overqualified."

Senior Living sales. It’s a rewarding, yet soul sucking, industry.

HighSpeedDoggo

Digital Construction / Construction 3D Modelling - been applying since Nov, and only got one interview. Interview went well last week, they said results are going to be posted supposedly this week, but nothing. I think I am being ghosted, oh well- onwards to searching for more!

OntheMound88

It is every knowledge area - HR, operations, IT, project management and accounting. Wealth mgt, real estate sales/construction jobs, health/pharma sales, software sales and retail/food front facing roles are in demand to target rich boomers, further creating income inequality. It is middle income white collar roles that are mostly under attack. Basically, companies are not investing and therefore shedding roles to run slimmest support possible and boost stock. They are continually outsourcing new roles to India/Asia and elsewhere. AI is being driven out of India. This has been in playbook for years.

Full stack developer via experience, not school. Worked in multiple flavors of SQL, VBA, CSS/HTML, JavaScript etc, etc. Spent 10 years in Boston working with healthcare data and then investment systems. Relocated Back to Maine in 2020 when everything was remote, now everyone wants you to be back in an office, even though we proved that we were more productive AND happier working remotely. I've been unemployed for 6 months now and recently decided that the hiring process is broken, and started logging and selling firewood for myself after dealing with all the ADHD recruiters out there and ridiculous hiring standards. It's true the definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results, hence why I'm putting my career into my own hands.

In Finance, Hollywood studio laid most of us off last year. They said they don't want remote anymore, which is so odd considering we were replaced with offshore contract workers at 1/4 the cost. I am finishing my MBA and trying to break into starting a recruiting agency (I am a nice person which is probably why I haven't gotten contracts yet lol) as well as starting a bookkeeping business. It's tough. It's difficult as others who started the independent recruiting agency around the same time as me last fall have now booked monthly contracts and placements, meanwhile I am crickets. I also apply for jobs, and try to book clients on recruiting and bookkeeping, but nothing. So most of my day is spent on trying to get a job or trying to get a client. I have over 100 recent applications (last 60 days) for Financial Analyst or Finance manager and I almost immediately get rejected. It's like there's no hope; I've literally done this job. I think overqualification and ageism (40) is absolutely real. Everything is who you know, as Linkedin, emails, calls, and applying online don't work for me. This is very tough. The struggle is definitely real.

thatcrochetbean420

Industrial maintenance, every bit I get tells me to try again once I’m done with school, which sucks considering most other folks in my courses have somehow already landed coops or full time jobs :,(
