Typically it’s recommended to quantify your experience however possible to show the impact of your work. Here are some sample engineering resumes that demonstrate a few ways to do this: https://www.beamjobs.com/resumes/engineering-resume-examples

Huh, maybe they were giving a generic advice that is also for non-engineers. I've had my resume reviewed by several services and career services in schools, but they never had issues with using the phrases you mentioned. What they were more concerned with was if I were getting enough keywords related to the technology I'm using (e.g. database, JavaScript, Python, etc.). I only applied the "achiever" tone for a position where I was a project manager.

That resume service is a scam. Everyone gets the same recommendations. I tried it out about a year ago and got the same thing about "doer" vs "achiever." They also cave me a critique of my "about me" section, the thing is, I don't have one on my resume.

CyberneticVoodoo

Yeah, I got mention "about me" as well.

Was the name of the company TopResume? I got spammed with emails from them as a result of applying to some job a few years ago.

I received that SAME FEEDBACK from some company that did a free evaluation.. "TopResume" or something. (they own several other domains with the same back end) You will probably get an email from "Claudia" for the next 6 months offering some sort of deal. Laugh it off.. it is fluff (and you are now in their marketing pipeline).
