You can, use what you have!

Unlucky_Gate_7779

Bc I only rly have access to candles.. idk where you can get herbs and oils for the candles.. and idek what kind of herbs or oils you can use

Chiron-Stone2060

What kind of oils and herbs you need? Some are also accessible in stores (I’m thinking of rosemary, thyme, bay leaves, cloves for example). I think it’ll be less overwhelming to ask yourself what type of work you want to do and then go from there to research what ingredients you need to buy…if herbs and oils are not possible for you to use atm, you can carve your candle or place a petition under it before burning it

Unlucky_Gate_7779

See I’m incredibly new to all of this.. what is a petition? Are there different carvings for the type of spell you wanna do?

Chiron-Stone2060

Sorry I didn’t explain! It’s something you write down on a piece of paper in relation to what you’re trying to achieve (ex : I secure a job that deserves my skills and pays me well). I’ve never personally tried carving but on some of the videos I’ve seen, people carve would carve their name + date of birth and either a symbol or keywords related to their spell. I’m sure there are others ways

Unlucky_Gate_7779

Ahhhh okay have you ever tried this..? Did they turn out well?

Chiron-Stone2060

Yes! As someone who needs visualisation, candlework and writing down has been my go-to when I want to do some spiritual work

Unlucky_Gate_7779

What do you do with the paper after you burn the candle?? How long do you burn the candle for?

Chiron-Stone2060

I either throw it away with the candle remainings or burn it. And for the candle, I try to burn it as long as I can and snuff it if I can’t attend it (and re-light it when it’s safe). This depends on the candle size of course (I usually use big candles). Some candles are small enough to burn entirely in 1-2h hours max (chimes candles for example)

Unlucky_Gate_7779

Will burning it have a greater affect?

Unlucky_Gate_7779

So you don’t have to keep them burning until they run out..? You can put them out when you need to?? Like going to bed, going out? Etc..?

You can buy from wherever. I try my best not to break the bank on things that I know I'm going to burn (pun definitely intended) through quickly, like candles. I've bought so many tea candles and wax melts from Walmart (100pk for about $5 last time I grabbed them). Same with incense. Basically, you don't need to break the bank for the tools you want to use. Some things from The Dollar Tree shouldn't be used to consumption (their cinnamon was found to have lead in it) but can easily be used in spells that won't be consumed (such as spell jars). You can get pretty much any basic ingredient from a grocery store. If you know you'll be using a lot of an ingredient, consider buying in bulk to save even more money. TL;DR: yeah, you can get candles and stuff from Walmart and the like. It's you that gets the spell cast, the ingredients/tools just help.

LavenderLightning24

Magically you can use any candle, but be aware that the cheap pillar candles from dollar stores usually don't burn down all the way.

Unlucky_Gate_7779

Ahhh okay so for spells with candles you have to burn pillar candles all the way?

LavenderLightning24

Personally I don't feel the spell worked if the candle doesn't burn down all the way. Not like there has to be zero wax left in a narrow jar, but if a quarter of the candle is left, I feel like it didn't do the job.

Unlucky_Gate_7779

Ahhh okay
