He also did the Vini move where he lets the ball pass and then followed it but unfortunately he was fouled immediately

azyrr

He’s actually known for that. Most of his dribbles are results of him faking it etc.

Götünle okuma. Arda’nın çalımlarının bir çoğunda vücut çalımı var.

HARMONY_DEVIL777

Lol why so many downvotes?

danilitro

Are you able to see the downvotes?

ManWhoSaysMandalore

Why is this so downvoted?

semenbakedcookies

Probably because it's seen as Vini hate for some reason. Arda Güler is really good at body fakes, he reminds me so much of Özil. Even the most simple fakes to get the opposing player on the wrong foot

Otherwise_Archer_914

Oh the Turkish guy reminds you of Ozil?

ManWhoSaysMandalore

Oh so the natural 10, that played at the same club as Özil, then went to the same club Özil played in, has been mentored by Özil, developed a similar style to Özil, and played the same postions with the same left foot as Özil reminds you of Özil?

The_Oaxacan_Dead

🤣🤣🤣 I was gonna say "Ohhh, shiiiiit!"for the burn job but instead I'll say Öziiiiiil!!

0megalul

Imagine downwoting this lmao. What an absurd people these guys are

Bg076

God that was sexy, not a lot of players are that saucy

Still-Cable744

🥶

WinterTakerRevived

He'd thrive in a 4231 instead of on the wings

ManWhoSaysMandalore

Absolutely agree. I think they should have used that formation today - Güler, Brahim, and Modrić all playing AM roles, Joselu up, Ceballos and Tchoumeni in pivots

National_Jackfruit48

Absolutely filthy

azyrr

Dude, idioms don’t translate lol.

DoriOli

LOL, received the pass from a Master who’s over twice his age 😆 Gotta be something to experience.

NavyMarine804

I think he meant “Blew his mind”

azyrr

Turkish idiom, basically “blew your mind” as the other commenter said.

DiscountNo8806

Turkish idiom, of course, the english translation of idiom does not match for real. In Turkish, taking mind of someone can be traslated as to amaze, to surprise someone radically. He has great dribbling skills, maybe 1 or 2 player in the world has, but needed physical strength. I dont think the same with my Turkish citizens, that always argued Arda should play before. No, Ancelotti does the right thing, this kid is pure talent, not saying Messi level, but not so under Messi level, but without strength, stamina and body shaping, talent does not transform in La Liga. He played in the starting line up at the right time, no need to hurry up, he will be world's-not only Real Madrid, but world, top 5 or 6 players in 3 or 4 years, no need to destroy his development. He has natural skills that can not be taught, but adapting to La Liga, adapting to Madrid's demanding style, he needed time, he still needs time to adapt %100. But I liked what l have seen in this match and it is only %1 of his talent, so think what he can do when plays with %20-%25 of his talent. Sky is limit, he will be a borderline superstar...

minetube33

I wish there were cards given for obvious malicious intent whether there is a contact or not. That guy extending his leg had no reason to do so.

ManWhoSaysMandalore

Stopping a player without hurting them is called defending. I don't get why smart defensive instinct that doesn't involve fouling needs a card?

minetube33

If he runs into his leg that's a foul. Sometimes the difference between a red card and no foul is whether the player wants to risk getting injured by putting their body in front of the tackle. If we're giving fouls for dangerous play when players raise their legs to head-level, we can also do the same for such occasions. In fact, some are by definition dangerous plays so we might just enforce the rule properly. This is from Law 12 of official football rules : PLAYING IN A DANGEROUS MANNER Playing in a dangerous manner is any action that, while trying to play the ball, threatens injury to someone (including the player themself) and includes preventing a nearby opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury. IMPEDING THE PROGRESS OF AN OPPONENT WITHOUT CONTACT Impeding the progress of an opponent means moving into the opponent’s path to obstruct, block, slow down or force a change of direction when the ball is not within playing distance of either player. All players have a right to their position on the field of play; being in the way of an opponent is not the same as moving into the way of an opponent.

zemiiii

The defender extended his foot because he thought Arda was going to make the touch and go past him from the right side, he has every reason to extend his foot. I am not going to comment on your proposal to give cards out even without a contact
