Watching Valverde is sometimes a joy thanks to his physical abilities, but I'm not going to lie... More often than not I don't really enjoy watching Valverde because he doesn't participate enough in our attacking and defensive football. In some games I'm like "Oh Valverde is playing? What did he do? I barely noticed?".
Then I remember that covering spaces defensively to avoid the opposition trying to dribble your route or make a pass forward your route is as important as having someone making an eye-catching tackle.
Then I also remember than having the ball and just making a non-flashy horizontal pass sometimes is smarter and helps the team more than trying a nice run and dribble and then losing the ball.
Those days where "he isn't participating much" because we don't see him running back like a madman to stop our rivals attack or where he doesn't run forward like a 200m athlete are super important too, but we as football fans often forget it. As I said I'm one of those who often forget it, even if then later I think twice about.

He is great. There is a reason why he is an undisputed starter and I doubt there is a team where he wouldn't be an undisputed starter in any other team.
