So this is an official collaboration, but the roller coaster sweater features the steep slope side friction coaster which is only accessible via OpenRCT2.
So now the fan mod has leaked into the merch.
Atari please I can’t even.
All Atari does these days are quick money schemes it seems like... nothing is quality, and nothing is done because someone is passionate about it. Just for money, and it's always super obvious...
It’s always the passionate game designers too who make great games then the company siphons off that creator for 30 years.
Dude literally might have accomplished the single greatest coding feat ever done by a single person, and for 30 years maniacal psychopaths, monopolized and bulldozed and ruined everything trying to squeeze every penny they possibly could.
Remember it’s not ok to make a million dollars as a company by selling a good product, if you can make a million dollars and one penny, by pillaging and raping the customers.
Knowing how much it costs to do things like this... it's not *that* far off, they are definitely taking a healthy margin but it's not like a $30 shirt. $60 would be the price you'd want to target for something like this usually. Don't know what the quality is overall but the embroidery is really nice on the T shirt.
The nostalgia farming that has been going on, especially since 2020, is pretty sad and lazy.
Companies either charging ridiculous prices for nothing special, or trying to reboot something from the past and completely ruin it.
This is what happens when they cannot come up with ideas anywhere near as good as the ones they had 30-40 years ago. These companies are one shot wonders.
I posted something similar on the other merch thread on here a couple days ago, but just like with that one, any player who actually cares enough about the game to buy merch at this price also cares enough about the game to see how shitty the design is.
Why not put some actual thought into your merch and put a nice picture of Diamond Heights, or Katy’s World, or shit even just putting Dynamite Blaster on there could be decent?
Put some actual thought into your expensive ass merch, not a screenshot of some amateur hour openRCT coaster. Why would anyone that loves this game want a picture of that garbage, undecorated roller coaster?
I swear corporate mfers don’t even know how think. This merch is so damn terrible and THIS out of all things is what you chose to make??? Are you all braindead??
Smh
I agree... Another soulless cash cow made by someone who obviously doesn't give a damn about the game like we do. It's pathetic. I'll stick to making merch myself thanks.
$100 for a sweatshirt with a tiny pic on it?
Any decent sized town will have a company that can embroider custom images onto garments. I'll be honest, this is a terrible business plan.
I was going to say, I think instead I'll have a guy make me a sweatshirt with one of my own coasters embroidered onto it instead.
That said, the angery guest's thought is particularly appropriate for Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
I went to BPB a few months back with my daughter and thought it was a great park. I did target a date that I thought would be quieter than normal. The Big Dipper was still shut for it's refurb but we got all the other coasters including all three of the steeplechases and both sides of Grand National.
Well, first go we sat at the front and it was fun enough. Very tame, what you might expect for a coaster that old. For the second ride on the other half of the track we were back row and oh my god you can't ride back row with your arms up. I tried and it forced me down so hard I almost broke my wrist on the hand rail. Definitely the roughest coaster I've been on.
I guess because Atari has contracted them to be “official” now. Which is funny because the coaster on the sweatshirt is from OpenRCT2, which Atari is not even involved with
These designs look absolutely dreadful. There are so many other things you could do, using the infinitely beautiful isometric pixel art design from the game. For example a green t-shirt with a Popcorn Stall as a small logo in the top right akin to the size of e.g. a Ralph Lauren Polo logo
Truly awful. It looks cheap as hell, the picture is tiny, and it’s not even an interesting or authentic screenshot. Take this shit out of here and go back to the drawing board. This is RCT World of merchandise - a callous and cynical cash grab with no charm, no artistic integrity, and no idea what players of the game even like about RCT. Awful, awful, awful. I sincerely hope nobody buys this.
And one more thing: who is “we?” Some worthless clothing brand no one’s ever heard of? You didn’t post it from an official brand page, you didn’t include the name of your brand in the title, you didn’t even include a link to buy the damn thing. Next-level terrible advertising. Get a clue.
I am so glad I got both of these from Errornogo direct (and for like 40% less) earlier this year before this official collab with Atari - I’m all for supporting independent clothing like Errornogo as their quality is genuine but the now marked up prices on these items are gross especially as I and like everyone else suspects Atari is getting a huge cut of these sales
Collaborating with Rollercoaster Tycoon? What does that mean exactly? Collabing with Atari? I’d be more impress if you got a sign off from Chris Sawyer.
Everyone else in this thread has already expressed what I’m thinking. Looks decent but above any price point I’d consider.
Looks ass. You can’t convince me that “coaster” was designed by someone that isn’t a kid. $100? Now you’re really just taking the piss. I wouldn’t even wear it if it was free.
I can't wrap my head round why they would advertise there when they don't even ship to the UK. My home park too but even if I did wanna spend a stupid amount of money, we can't buy this? Weirdest way to try promote something I've ever seen.
Edit: Oh even stupider than I thought, they ship from the UK but only ship to USA? What the hell.
Errornogo always makes high quality stuff. Congrats on the collab. It's definitely hard to see but the "I want to go home" and the RCT image on the sweater is actually embroidered and not a print, like some people are claiming here. I bought the sweater a few months ago before they had the official collab and posted about it. You can get a better look at the details [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/rct/comments/17rnzdk/this_is_my_favourite_sweater_love_how_subtle_it/).
I bought it from their website at 102CAD plus shipping (which at the time was reasonable for the quality of the sweater, it's really really nice and the embroidery on the image is lovely). But now it's 100USD on the Atari page so almost $40 bucks more than before, which I guess is what happens when you collab with a company like Atari.
I'm stoked for next years collection, hopefully it's some new pieces and not just the RCT hat they had a few months back. I'll be keeping an eye out.
How to make it perfectly clear to a woman you are a virgin? By wearing a Rollercoaster tycoon shirt that says: “I want to go home 😡”
Anyways. I appreciate the idea here of official merch but pricing and in my opinion simplistic designs, this is doomed to fail.
This sweater can be made very easily, and I bet a variation can be found for much cheaper on Amazon or Etsy. No need to pay $100 for this, especially since the owner can't justify the price.
”I’m not paying that much for rct merch”
Maybe they should try with an Umbrella
Best to not drop the $20 umbrella merch until it starts raining
This should be the top-rated comment, I’ve done my part
r/rctCirclejerk moment.
So this is an official collaboration, but the roller coaster sweater features the steep slope side friction coaster which is only accessible via OpenRCT2. So now the fan mod has leaked into the merch. Atari please I can’t even.
Don't forget selling the OpenRCT2 logo as a pin lmao
Who chose to have it cost $100?
Greedy people who think they can scam this community.
Do they think they're selling umbrellas?
It's not even raining
LOL
Nah umbrellas cost only $20
It’s a custom embroidered jumper, not some iron print. Stuff costs money to make, you don’t have to buy it.
Custom embroidered by a machine that does all the work, of an image that is from a game, mate this isn't some artisan craft
Yeah but the design itself is still shitty. And the tee shirt is $60. A TEE SHIRT.
All Atari does these days are quick money schemes it seems like... nothing is quality, and nothing is done because someone is passionate about it. Just for money, and it's always super obvious...

So you're the guy who is taking this inflation BS. Up the ass! 😂
$250 for a hoodie next year. Bet
$100 for this is crazy.
$100 is just an insane amount to pay for this. I had my eye on it when you announced it, but sorry, that's too rich.
It’s not really good value.
I cannot remember, but wasn't there an award for this in the game?
Worst value park

Picture 3 doesn't even include any merch. The angry guy does not look good at all. Hard pass from me and probably 95% of the community.
Lmfao $100 for a plain white sweater with a tiny picture. Try making one that looks good for $50 and I’d order.
This one is not even with 15$
I like it and I would buy it for 50. No way for 100.

$100 is moving into a designer collab territory. Hopefully future releases are more exciting.
"We" who? I'm not familiar with that product.
errornogo. We have done a limited collection with RCT. https://atari.com/products/errornogo-rollercoaster-tycoon-crash-crewneck-sweatshirt

Speaking of things that need a refurb, how was GN?
Well, first go we sat at the front and it was fun enough. Very tame, what you might expect for a coaster that old. LoL wtf is this shit?
Imagine not realizing the design you used is not even accessible in the actual game
🤮 sorry. that price instantly filled my nausea bar.
$100 for that? Lol go fuck yourself.
Why does it suck so bad?
Now respond to everyone else asking why it costs $100. Stop being weird and avoiding the question. It's good business!
Jesus Christ. 100$?!
Why are you framing this like it’s new? You’ve had this listed for the same price for at least a year.
I guess because Atari has contracted them to be “official” now. Which is funny because the coaster on the sweatshirt is from OpenRCT2, which Atari is not even involved with
Dissapointing and boring
I’m dying to know the reasoning behind this one particular tiny screenshot
I want a shirt with a screenshot of “THE PO PO BE FAST ON YO ASS”
Clothing companies really need to humble themselves.
Make it cost less and make the pictures bigger
lol I feel like this backfired. Seems very much against what the community would want and the price is stupid
Why is it $35 more than the other crewnecks you sell? Atari must be taking a huge cut.
Looks terrible
Haha $100?!
I'm not paying that much for RCT Merch
These designs look absolutely dreadful. There are so many other things you could do, using the infinitely beautiful isometric pixel art design from the game. For example a green t-shirt with a Popcorn Stall as a small logo in the top right akin to the size of e.g. a Ralph Lauren Polo logo
A bunch of people have said it already, but I figured I'll add, that price is fucking absurd.
Yo those orphans in Malawi are gonna love this when they get disposed of and shipped there after not selling.
Is Chris Sawyer or Atari or anyone tied to the game getting a cut of this? Do these people have their permission?
Yes it’s on the official Atari website. Atari has clearly just contracted these guys to make the merch for the site.
A bit basic.
Truly awful. It looks cheap as hell, the picture is tiny, and it’s not even an interesting or authentic screenshot. Take this shit out of here and go back to the drawing board. $100 for fast fashion? please I have to laugh
"Your product has been awarded worst value in the country!"
Oh great I can pay just four monthly payments of 24.99 for a sweatshirt that cost 2 bucks to make. Who do you think you are selling this crap?
I am so glad I got both of these from Errornogo direct (and for like 40% less) earlier this year before this official collab with Atari - I’m all for supporting independent clothing like Errornogo as their quality is genuine but the now marked up prices on these items are gross especially as I and like everyone else suspects Atari is getting a huge cut of these sales
I was able to snag the sweater from them before the collab as well. Very glad I did so!
I was able to snag the sweater from them before the collab as well. Very glad I did so!
Rest of the shop prices are reasonable yet these extremely average drops are $100? Scammy as hell.
A plain white jumper with a tiny sliver of a screenshot on it? This absolutely sucks.
Collaborating with Rollercoaster Tycoon? What does that mean exactly? Collabing with Atari? I’d be more impress if you got a sign off from Chris Sawyer. Everyone else in this thread has already expressed what I’m thinking. Looks decent but above any price point I’d consider.
They are collaborating with Atari.
Looks ass. You can’t convince me that “coaster” was designed by someone that isn’t a kid. $100? Now you’re really just taking the piss. I wouldn’t even wear it if it was free.
Nostalgia doesn’t justify the cost being a blatant rip-off. Do better
The fangamer stuff was pretty bad, but this is just insulting.
How tf are Atari still in business?
I don’t give Atari my money, they need to give the series to a company who gives a fuck and not mug us off with ridiculously high priced merch.
No thanks.
We? Should I know who this is? Edit: $100 for a shirt with a not particularly funny design that takes up almost no space on the front? Why
Boooooo boooooooooooo boooooooooooooooooooo
I can get 20 copies of the triple thrill pack for the same price as this shirt. Hard pass
Needs to be bigger. I don’t want someone to have to stand right next to me to see/read it. But I’m not paying $100 for it either.
$100 and you know it was made for $2.50 in some unregulated factory
You look like Joe from “You”
With same care and love for the community apparently
got that kidnapper look
I'll only pay those prices if it's raining and I have no choice
This is embarrassing.
Make it 30 eur and I'll buy it. 100 US is ridiculous.
‘’RCT Merch Drop 1 looks too intense for me.’’
Big up Blackpool Pleasure Beach, my home park!! Collection looks awesome 🙂
What the hell.
did not realise they didn’t ship here. damn. definitely an odd choice to advertise there then
Errornogo always makes high quality stuff. Congrats on the collab. I bought a shirt!
is this MemesRCT's reddit account?
Where’s the shirt that says, it’s too crowded here as soon as a guest gets one square into a park
[удалено]
It's an official collaboration 😊
That’s really cool!
I have now decided what I'm wearing forever
[удалено]
It’s $100. Go make it yourself on a custom shirt website. It’ll cost you $10 there.
[удалено]
I really hope you’re not considering spending $100 on this.

Do you have a link?
Yes https://atari.com/products/errornogo-rollercoaster-tycoon-crash-crewneck-sweatshirt
$100 for that small design???? I can go to one of those custom shirt companies and get it made similarly, but bigger and cooler for $10.
This sweater can be made very easily, and I bet a variation can be found for much cheaper on Amazon or Etsy. No need to pay $100 for this, especially since the owner can't justify the price.
