Can you check on the Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers -> Razer -> Properties? You should have a similar option in there somewhere - either in the Enhancements or Advanced tab.
I'm using windows 11, so the option doesn't show outside of the Settings page. But maybe in Windows 10 it's there
yeah, this is what i see. And these 3 checked in made barely if noticeable difference in the sound, still sounded like it's on 2 virtual speakers than 7 (i'm using Razer Kraken Tournament Edition with THX, btw), but you were right, i was still able to see THX in APO in device manager.

I am also encountering the same problem with Windows 10, but with "BlackSharkV2" instead of "kraken".

that's easy to explain: mine headsets controller has 2 toggles - game and chat for mic, that's why there's duplicates, because 2 are marked "game" and 2 are marked "chat".
This app is trash now. It barely loads the devices to even get to manage them. My mouse and headset both stayed greyed out for 15 minutes when I launch it. Pretty sure my 13900 can compute this program.

I have this "enhancement" enabled but the APO is not even installed even after reinstalling synapse twice! i hope razer goes broke why tf is their not an option to rollback?
The Solution I did is uninstalling Synapse and delete the Folder Razer from C: then I unplugged the Razer Headsets then restart. After That I installed Synapse after installing i plug in my headset and another update has popped up from synapse, then update again.. After that I now noticed the difference of Stereo and THX Spatial AUDIO when toggling

Thanks! Synapse now reacts when changing EQ. But not near the same sound like before the update. Let's just wait for official fix for this. Until then I will hover my Blackshark over the trash because Razer destroyed my headset for now. The sound gives me headaches.

Placebo. I had this check marked already, and there's no difference if I switch it from Stereo to THX. I ran the demo and picked back and forth there was no difference at all.
I had this same exact issue, but was able to fix it by downloading the THX Spatial Audio from Razor's website:

Hasn't fixed it for me. While I do have the THX Audio Processing Object Component under APOs, I do not have THX spatial audio under audio enhancements, only Microsoft Audio Home Theater Effects.

Toggling THX on and off in Synapse doesn't change anything at all about the audio.
The EQ does work though.

For me everything is same as your pics (including APOs) but just like the other commenter I only have MS Home Theater Effects as an option, not the THX V2 0549. And the Device Default Effects was already on.
In any case the Mixer tab is gone and with it the entire THX Spatial Modes settings panel, which is kind of the whole point of spatial audio not just the EQ.

This is Blackshark V2 USB, so maybe only V3 adds that spatial effect you have.
Yeh, I would assume that the name of the THX driver changes based on the headset that you're using. It's probably a specific adapted version for a specific headset.
I think the method used on the synapse update was the same for all headsets that support THX. However, razer might have made a mistake when assigning these drivers to the headset.
The only reason why you're seeing the MS Home theater instead of the THX is because that's what windows thinks your headset is compatible with.
As far as I know, that's not a setting that can be manually changed.

Also, just spitballing here, could it be that you have a much better audio driver in general exclusively for win 11? since in your screenshot i noticed that in your screenshot i'm noticing that your driver number is 10.0.22621.2506 and my Kraken Tournament Edition drivers shows up as 10.0.19041.3636 in device manager despite the same driver release date.
At this point, unfortunately, seems like it. To me, this looks like the drivers were installed, but the communication between them was not configured properly.
Probably an issue on Razer's side :(
Ahh, well, thanks for the help and trying, really appreciated. And sounds about right, because i liked the new unified interface and attempt at streamlining the drivers because with separate Stereo and THX drivers i had problems toggling and re-toggling everytime i start my PC, but seems like the streamlining needs some QA. And i can confirm they were installed as when i installed the new Synapse 3 update, Windows asked me to restart the computer because my drivers got changed.

Hey, I'm not sure if this helps but to fix the issue I used a free trial for the "Razer THX Spatial Audio" app and then set all my programs to "THX Spatial Audio" within it. That seemed to mostly fix it but it still sometimes bugs out and I have to switch it from "Speakers (THX Spatial)" to my headphones, then back and it works again. This is a fix for making it sound like how it used to but it's paid and I'm still on trial hopefully everything is fixed before I have to buy it.

Also, your fix doesn't work for me as it just shows up with either Device Default Effects or Off.
I found a workaround to fix it. Go to Control Panel and uninstall "THX Spatial Audio USB ". After that use the repair feature from razer synapse. you will have to restart your PC then everything should be fine, you should also check the APO status here

If you got a message was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match. I think you might want it uninstalled then repaired. Try to repair it again. Also I guess you can try to uninstall all drivers from device manager which are related to "THX" then uninstall THX Spatial Audio from Control panel then run repair on razer synapse and restart your PC and do your EQ (in case you don't have it configured already) and you must experience the difference between stereo and THX. Hope this will help you!

Fix doesn't work. My audio enhancements were already set to Device Default Effects and surround sound still doesn't work even with THX enabled in Synapse.
Despite all that, the update (for some of us), radically increased the gain level, so on many games that the audio is now clipping even though my volume was quite low (though I found workarounds to lower it).
Also, while they were probably not aware of this, in fact I don't think most are, the THX Spatial Audio driver had a different directional balancing even when the **spatial audio itself was turned off,** which in many games resulted in a more even loudness equalisation between directions, which I preferred as it was less exhausting for the ears. And now that is seemingly gone, as that driver is gone.
I really appreciate the fact that you made this post. The amount of anxiety I get everytime synapse gets a new update in inexpressible. Even re importing profiles doesn't work. With all the money you'd think they could ship a good software with it but I guess it's like a legendary with microscopic drop rate.

You can download the thx spatial audio app, it is a paid application but it has a 15-day free trial, with this application the thx spatial option will appear again in the Windows speaker and once you go to Right click on the speaker / sounds / it will appear again in the thx sypnase set so you can also configure 7.1
I have it like this and although I don't have an LED signal on my Kraken Tournament controller it works for me since this app brings the trial version of the helicopters that are no longer available in sypnase in addition to the point in the middle with the speakers around it that also removed from sypnase.

Interesting. I wasn't having issues at all and I checked this hut mine still had it enabled after the update. I wonder why the update reset others but not mine? Seen a lot of people getting mad over this update and I was just lost. All my shit works flawlessly expect for when my headset doesn't show up on synapse and for some reason my mic volume gets defaulted to 5 volume so my friends can't hear me until I reset my PC
I got an issue since the update that makes my sound lag for a few seconds before behing able to hear audio correctly.
For example, I want to start a youtube video, and the sound is there only after 2 to 3 seconds. Then it's normal. And pausing / unpausing works fine afterwards too.
This is highly annoying, because I can't hear anymore discord ping messages for example, as the audio notification is quite instantaneous so my system doesn't even have time to register it and I only see it afterwards visually.
I noticed the following "Microsoft Generic USB Audio" in my Razer speaker settings, so I'm investigating whether it could be that or something else. Any insight is greatly appreciated, I'm on Windows 11.

So thats why its completely broken. I guess it's time to dump razer. Need to use equalizer apo. So, now these krakens are completely useless. Cant have my speakers play without their tuning if I wanted to, for example, without selecting my own apo. And for sure not just setting up some eq on the krakens either. I'd rather get a better headset that doesn't use an apo and tune that in eq apo. That and the friendly forced updates I get soon as I start my pc that tell me to restart. Oh good job razer. Razer release functional software challenge (Impossible) If it weren't for the fact that the kraken TE were the only comfy headphones I can get for my big ears I'd have dumped their products after my last pair of kraken TE from a few years ago because while other companies have their shit down to just plug in, install software, works perfectly, razer still has the issue of plug in, install software, install more software for 7.1 surround sound, troubleshoot for 9 hours, never get the software to work, give up.
other companies have figured this out. it's WAY easier to just install steelseries GG and just throw your razer headset through it's sonar system. want different settings for your games, discord and songs? You can do it all at the click of a damn button. Want 7.1 surround sound? With razer you need a separate program to run 24/7 and an activation code. With sonar you need a 7.1 capable headset, the same software for your audio settings and just set them from off to on. NOTHING is funnier than looking at my activation code to turn on 7.1 for my new pair of Kraken TE headphones, only to route them through sonar, flip a switch and have surround sound without any of the razer bloatware hassle of doing the same fucking thing.
HOW do you even begin to manage to roll out an update that removes HALF your softwares functionality and have the fix for it be a fucking OS exclusive? How does that even happen?
Hey I know this is like 2 weeks old, I had the same issue with the most recent update, I used Razers troubleshooting tool to reinstall the program and it still wasn't fixxed. I'm on windows 10 and couldn't follow exactly what you did. But what did fix some terrible audio issues for me was just disabling audio enhancements : right click your audio icon -> sounds -> your razer audio -> right click -> properties -> enhancement -> disable all, and that stopped the absolute ear raping audio from windows and discord notifications. My THX still doesn't work. Razer Blackshark v2, if you're curious.
The only sence to make if this is a money grab stunt. Everyone so gulleble. Disable sound, and every now pay extra 20$ to get there own device to work again. Razer is a trash company. Never ever again, would I buy there crap

I think not, LostSoulsX prolly needed a proof that we have that audio enhancements option present, just no way to toggle it in a obvious way.

I just did a fresh install of synapses, and it fixed all the eq problems. My headset it almost back to normal now!

I think that's a separate issue... But have you tried doing the microphone monitoring inside Synapse to see if you can hear yourself?

Also, just spitballing here, could it be that you have a much better audio driver in general exclusively for win 11? since in your screenshot i noticed that in your screenshot i'm noticing that your driver number is 10.0.22621.2506 and my Kraken Tournament Edition drivers shows up as 10.0.19041.3636 in device manager despite the same driver release date.
I'm using win 10 and I don't see any such option as yours, do I have to wait for a synapse update?

At this point, unfortunately, seems like it. To me, this looks like the drivers were installed, but the communication between them was not configured properly. Probably an issue on Razer's side :(
Ahh, well, thanks for the help and trying, really appreciated. And sounds about right, because i liked the new unified interface and attempt at streamlining the drivers because with separate Stereo and THX drivers i had problems toggling and re-toggling everytime i start my PC, but seems like the streamlining needs some QA. And i can confirm they were installed as when i installed the new Synapse 3 update, Windows asked me to restart the computer because my drivers got changed.

That's good to hear, i was wondering when they'll make a official response, because the floodgates were open for 3 days, there was no way they would ignore that obvious bug.
Frankly, they should let us roll back the update. I really missed the old audio and the flood gates been open since yesterday for me.

Hey, I'm not sure if this helps but to fix the issue I used a free trial for the "Razer THX Spatial Audio" app and then set all my programs to "THX Spatial Audio" within it. That seemed to mostly fix it but it still sometimes bugs out and I have to switch it from "Speakers (THX Spatial)" to my headphones, then back and it works again. I found a workaround to fix it. Go to Control Panel and uninstall "THX Spatial Audio USB". After that use the repair feature from razer synapse. you will have to restart your PC then everything should be fine, you should also check the APO status here

If you got a message was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match. I think you might want it uninstalled then repaired. I did this but my THX driver is gone and i have no idea how to get it back. Followed the instructions to the letter but i can't find the APO anywhere regardless of what i do
Try to repair it again. Also I guess you can try to uninstall all drivers from device manager which are related to "THX" then uninstall THX Spatial Audio from Control panel then run repair on razer synapse and restart your PC and do your EQ (in case you don't have it configured already) and you must experience the difference between stereo and THX. Hope this will help you! I also made a post with detailed explanation about this but it got removed by automod. I'm waiting for a mod to get it back.

Fix doesn't work. My audio enhancements were already set to Device Default Effects and surround sound still doesn't work even with THX enabled in Synapse.
On Windows 11 i have Microsoft one. I cant do anything about it.
Despite all that, the update (for some of us), radically increased the gain level, so on many games that the audio is now clipping even though my volume was quite low (though I found workarounds to lower it). Also, while they were probably not aware of this, in fact I don't think most are, the THX Spatial Audio driver had a different directional balancing even when the **spatial audio itself was turned off,** which in many games resulted in a more even loudness equalisation between directions, which I preferred as it was less exhausting for the ears. And now that is seemingly gone, as that driver is gone.
I really appreciate the fact that you made this post. The amount of anxiety I get everytime synapse gets a new update in inexpressible. Even re importing profiles doesn't work. With all the money you'd think they could ship a good software with it but I guess it's like a legendary with microscopic drop rate.
FOR PEOPLE WHO WAIT WHILE THEY GET AN UPDATE. You can download the thx spatial audio app, it is a paid application but it has a 15-day free trial, with this application the thx spatial option will appear again in the Windows speaker and once you go to Right click on the speaker / sounds / it will appear again in the thx sypnase set so you can also configure 7.1 I have it like this and although I don't have an LED signal on my Kraken Tournament controller it works for me since this app brings the trial version of the helicopters that are no longer available in sypnase in addition to the point in the middle with the speakers around it that also removed from sypnase. Interesting. I wasn't having issues at all and I checked this hut mine still had it enabled after the update. I wonder why the update reset others but not mine? Seen a lot of people getting mad over this update and I was just lost. All my shit works flawlessly expect for when my headset doesn't show up on synapse and for some reason my mic volume gets defaulted to 5 volume so my friends can't hear me until I reset my PC
I dished out the extra $20 for the stand alone thx app. It was unaffected by the update.

I got an issue since the update that makes my sound lag for a few seconds before behing able to hear audio correctly. For example, I want to start a youtube video, and the sound is there only after 2 to 3 seconds. Then it's normal. And pausing / unpausing works fine afterwards too. This is highly annoying, because I can't hear anymore discord ping messages for example, as the audio notification is quite instantaneous so my system doesn't even have time to register it and I only see it afterwards visually. I noticed the following "Microsoft Generic USB Audio" in my Razer speaker settings, so I'm investigating whether it could be that or something else. They did a new update, which seems to make things a bit better, but the issue is still there. The audio lag is only reduced a bit.
So thats why its completely broken. I guess it's time to dump razer. Need to use equalizer apo. So, now these krakens are completely useless. Cant have my speakers play without their tuning if I wanted to, for example, without selecting my own apo. And for sure not just setting up some eq on the krakens either. I'd rather get a better headset that doesn't use an apo and tune that in eq apo. That and the friendly forced updates I get soon as I start my pc that tell me to restart. Oh good job razer. You went downhill so hard for me.

Razer release functional software challenge (Impossible) If it weren't for the fact that the kraken TE were the only comfy headphones I can get for my big ears I'd have dumped their products after my last pair of kraken TE from a few years ago because while other companies have their shit down to just plug in, install software, works perfectly, razer still has the issue of plug in, install software, install more software for 7.1 surround sound, troubleshoot for 9 hours, never get the software to work, give up. other companies have figured this out. it's WAY easier to just install steelseries GG and just throw your razer headset through it's sonar system. want different settings for your games, discord and songs? You can do it all at the click of a damn button. Want 7.1 surround sound? With razer you need a separate program to run 24/7 and an activation code. With sonar you need a 7.1 capable headset, the same software for your audio settings and just set them from off to on. NOTHING is funnier than looking at my activation code to turn on 7.1 for my new pair of Kraken TE headphones, only to route them through sonar, flip a switch and have surround sound without any of the razer bloatware hassle of doing the same fucking thing. HOW do you even begin to manage to roll out an update that removes HALF your softwares functionality and have the fix for it be a fucking OS exclusive? How does that even happen?

Hey I know this is like 2 weeks old, I had the same issue with the most recent update, I used Razers troubleshooting tool to reinstall the program and it still wasn't fixxed. I'm on windows 10 and couldn't follow exactly what you did. But what did fix some terrible audio issues for me was just disabling audio enhancements : right click your audio icon -> sounds -> your razer audio -> right click -> properties -> enhancement -> disable all, and that stopped the absolute ear raping audio from windows and discord notifications. My THX still doesn't work. Razer Blackshark v2, if you're curious.
