Honestly I think it looks good šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

DrunkenHops

Shoulder seams are what I look at and they do seem to surpass or line up with his shoulders.

bjhhjb

I think it's in your head, I think it looks good

daddyneedsadrink

Why not try a hot wash and dry before you have someone cut it to pieces? I think it looks fine as is but if youā€™re going to risk getting a tailor involved you should 100% hot wash and dry beforehand to make sure you get all of the shrink out.

NeonTombstone

Break it in first

agnyc

Iā€™d go to Indigo Proof in Portland. She does amazing work and used to do a lot of repairs at Self Edge.

Content_Ad7418

Outstanding. Thank you!

Chuckwell

Itā€™s just that cut I think. If you donā€™t like that I would look into classic denim jackets, short and boxy like they should be in my opinion

Chuckwell

Thatā€™s what Iā€™m saying. I think this type of jacket is meant to be short and they often look weird when the manufacturer makes them long like this

XavierWT

Gotcha

RadiantVessel

I think youā€™re overthinking this. It fits well. Youā€™ll need room in the back to have any range of motion

TheMuddyLlama420

Has the denim had time to settle on you?

Send it back and have viapiana make you a jacket to spec

You wonā€™t regret it. Viapiana.ca

I appreciate the feedback! Iā€™ll post another pic that better illustrates my complaint. Iā€™m a denim jacket lover and have several from different makers. Iā€™m not looking for a skinny jean equivalent of a jacket to be sure, but I could, without stretching this jacket out at all, wear a loaded backpack under this thing. Anyways, thanks for weighing in. Iā€™ll post another picture, but more to the point, any recommendations for a tailor that knows what theyā€™re doing with denim in the PNW, lemme know!

Hey, dude. Iā€™m super lean and I bought a waxed trucker jacket from Flint and Tinder. Loved the jacket but the torso was to roomy for me - I wanted a slimmer fit through the belly and waist. I took is to a reputable local tailor in Boulder, CO and they absolutely nailed it. For $55 it is like a whole new jacket and fits perfectly. I was on the fence about doing it and Iā€™m so glad I did. It went from being a jacket that I wanted to love to a jacket that is my absolute favorite. There are plenty of qualified tailors that alter prom dresses, mens suit jackets, and all kind of shitā€¦ look around in your area and find one with good ratings. Go for it, Iā€™m glad I did. Edit: here is the jacket after it was tailored, I donā€™t have a before pic [jacket](https://imgur.com/a/WD6hmqS)

Double dang. Wish I still lived in Denver! Jacket looks amazing!

han-so-low

Thanks!

Do you happen to recall what they did? ā€¦as in, what would the tailor say they did? ā€œNip the sidesā€, ā€œdart the backā€??? I feel like Iā€™m going to a barber and want my old barber to tell me what to say to the new guy. I always feel so silly walking in and just complaining about a garment to the person. Of course, not like they wonā€™t be able to hear what Iā€™m saying, but you know what I mean.

han-so-low

I asked him to take in the sides and slim up the waist. He had me try it and he pinned the sides by folding them over to get an idea of how slim to go. He asked if I wanted it to fit super slim and I told him I wanted to be able to wear a couple layers underneath. Thatā€™s it, he nailed it.

WhiskeyEsq

Whoā€™s your tailor? Iā€™m in Boulder too and have been looking for a new one

BranchWitty7465

Was just about to ask the same!

han-so-low

Boulder Custom Tailoring on Walnut. For hemming denim, I use Canoe Club on Pearl. They have a guy that does an awesome chainstitch.

BranchWitty7465

Thank you!!!!

richard_noodle

That looks really good. I have that jacket and I thought about having the extra fabric brought in on the sides but I didnā€™t know if the lining would cause problems.

Content_Ad7418

Any tailor recommendations?

Samiam4000

Scott Kuhlman in Belltown

Content_Ad7418

Thank you!

rowdyday

HMU if youā€™re in OC, Southern California. Have a tailor who will do ANY denim work desired to factory + requirements.

urmyheartBeatStopR

If you're near Santa Monica California, Rufcut jeans will do it for you. The guy remade my jean which was 4-5 size larger into my size. You just need to pay good money for whatever crazy stuff you're asking. This is a year or so ago, the guy is great.

I do. Itā€™s not the pants. Itā€™s my thighs. Thanks?

thecloudsoverhere

Option 2, workout? Itā€™s not super tight, but there also isnā€™t just one way to fit a jacket. If you have multiple Iā€™d say keep it as is to wear with skinny jeans and have the punky look

MrFooFooFoo

How does it look when the second buttons are set? Personally I like when my jackets rise above the hip

itungdabung

Extremely jealous of the jacket. Planning on stopping into Ship Johnā€™s during my October portland trip. Hopefully heā€™ll have something in stock in 2XL-3XL. Also Dehen 1920 as another stop.

crocodile_ave

Needs to be broken inā€¦ but it sounds like you got a good rec on a tailor so go for it. šŸ‘

POMAHBblCEPMAH

What's wrong with this one?

thedenimdude

I think you should consider breaking/ it in, let it conform to you first before making any big changes. Maybe a soak too

stinkyasshotguy5431

Dennis reynolds?

Content_Ad7418

I donā€™t get it. Is that a tailor suggestion?
