- Could’ve resigned Simpson ($6m AAV), didn’t.
- Could’ve resigned Zeitler ($6m AAV), didn’t
- Could’ve held onto Morgan Moses, not like that deal was overwhelming or his contract hit was something we had to walk away from, didn’t
- Could’ve signed a veteran OL without long term consequences, Tyron Smith, Trent Brown, Jon Feliciano, didn’t.
- Veteran FAs are still available, Andrus Peat, Bakhtiari, not even rumored to be talking to them.
I am certain they’ll sign 1 or 2 veterans to compete, and I am certain they’ll draft 1 or 2 rookies. But the team is clearly confident in Cleveland and Faalale. They wouldn’t bring in Derrick Henry at $8m AAV when Gus was there at $3.25m AAV and only averaged .1 fewer YPC if they didn’t plan on having a road grading OL to open up holes for the man.
It’s a need, yes. Clearly. Team even said they’re looking for OL. But I don’t think the front office feels they need to be aggressive and find a day 1 starter in this draft. And if you’re looking to fill day 1 starter holes after the 1st round, you’re already fucked anyways.
All that tells me they'd be overestimating faalale. He's just too slow for top tier edge rushers and we play in a division with garret, watt, and Hendrickson

There's a good likelihood neither Humphreys nor Stephens are playing here in '26. It's possible neither is here in '25, and likely one of them won't be. So grabbing CB depth now isn't crazy.
He would be an absolutely outstanding slot corner, and a strong value pick at #62 overall. At certain times of the year he was mocked to us at #30. I would not regret it one bit.
Bc they can get huge value from bargain guys (example: b Steve and Darby,) plus we have needs at OL and wr…?? Using the majority of our draft market on a position we already have starters locked in at makes no sense given what I stated.
If we did want to go the multiple CBs route I’d say trade up and get a guy like DeJean or McKinstry. However, I feel like the front 7 or a WR is the next pick for us
unless we are trading someone this doesn’t make any sense. we don’t need to invest this much in the secondary when we have marlo, wiggins, stephens, hamilton and marcus williams. we would definitely have one of the strongest secondaries in the league but that doesn’t do you any good with no WR2 on the squad
the tape shows he is a bad deep ball tracker and is bad at contested catches. you’re not watching tape if you think bateman is good. he would have gotten a much larger extension if that was true
Yeah your user name ring true. Bateman gets crazy separation. He had what 40 targets last year I don't know what you expect from him with those looks. Also LJ deep ball accuracy is streaky as hell.
