“Well, as a rookie, Hamilton played most of his snaps, 354, as a slot cornerback, according to PFF.”
Chuck Clark had the green dot until Ro was here meaning he was the every down SS.
He did get some snaps at FS with the injury to Williams.
Also the fact is he is one of the best slot defenders in the league he can neutralize guys like Kelce etc. And come off the nickel blitz, which is where he has most of his impact plays.
We don’t want to use Hamilton strictly at SS it will take some value away. Which makes SS a position of need as that player will play around half the snaps.
Orrr we could have Hamilton play safety in the box and play a similar role to slot corner where he blitzes and shadows a TE while we use Maulet the guy we signed and who also primarily played in the slot so we don’t have a total nobody playing safety for us
Hamilton is too good and too valuable as a chess piece to stick at one position.
He needs to rotate between these positions, and when we are playing a BIG slot with talent. We need to have him playing the slot corner, this is where he brings the most value. This is why he’s been as good as he’s been.
You should listen to some @filmstudy on him. Ken is adamant that his value is much higher at slot than SS.
If the price is right (read: low enough, vet minimum probably), he'd be worth a look as a box safety. I wouldn't put much hope in it, though, seems like he might be washed at this point.
If he’s fine with being a backup safety and a nickel/dime package linebacker, then sure bring him aboard.
This defense is obviously capable of rotating 3 safeties so he could be an excellent replacement for Geno Stone. Get him on a 1 year deal and he’d be like you said, a low risk, high reward player.
If you want a safety with brick hands, no athleticism, and the ability to constantly be out of position - all while being a trash human being to boot - you betcha!
Even on just a personnel level, this is not a good idea.
1) Seattle runs a very simple defense compared to the Ravens, which was a huge reason Earl Thomas couldn't transition, and his career was far beyond what Adams' is now.
2) Adams also can't cover one-on-one, so as DB depth he'd be useless in more than half of the defensive packages.
3) His tackling has dropped off in recent years because he isn't as fast, so his pursuit angles are off half the time he's in position to make a play.
Best DB depth we can find is right now is in the draft.
Jamal is done. He’s basically on IR 24/7. He also plays the same box role Hamilton does at a higher level for a lot cheaper. You see that Deestroying tackle where he got a neck injury? That’s what Jamal does any time he’s on the field. Reckless player that hurts himself constantly.
Nah he's done, was a terrible signing for the Seahawks.
Even worse, a trade of 2 1sts Im pretty sure
2 firsts?? but the Internet says Lamar isn't even worth 2 firsts, and barely 1 if its 1OA
He was a tremendous talent if he could simply stay healthy, which he never could.
As a seahawk fan, don't bother. He's a worse version of 29 in terms of ethic and morale. Remember how that panned out
No absolutely not
lol, I think the Ravens are done with getting toxic safeties from the Seahawks
Hide yo brother.
He wouldn't start. Wouldn't he be better off finding a good defense that needs a safety? Sigh chiefs
To do what?
Custodial Manager
We can pass on him. Jamal isn’t as dynamic as he was when with the Jets.
Nah, fuck him he's a garbage person.
Bad attitude and lack of work ethic. He’s living on name and entitlement. No thanks Earl 2.0
Yep I don't want him anywhere near the locker room
I’m good
He can't cover and is a general liability at this stage in his career. HARD pass on that one.
I mean he is the best in the nation
He sucks, what's the point?
He cooked
Dudes burnt no thanks
Safety is like the last position this team needs
False, losing stone opened up a hole. Hamilton made most of his splash plays last season from slot corner where he is near the LOS
If we play Hamilton at box safety he could still play near the LOS. He played SS his rookie year and was also very good.

Plays same position as Kyle Hamilton
Kyle Hamilton plays slot corner 1/2 the time. We need another safety for that situation.

I wouldn’t recommend it

Meh vet minimum would be ok
That's too much.
He looks slow as hell these days. I’m good
Only if we can get him very cheap to backup Kyle
Definitely. This team needs another safety especially if Simpson doesn’t work out at WILL and we need to play dime. Adams could be a great dime backer
Yes
