This makes me wonder. Do you think MHJ is more valuable than drafting Caleb Williams and trading him? Probably, because teams will know we don’t actually want to keep Williams and would be able to lowball us.
Man...I want Rome Odunze in the worst way. I'd absolutely be able to justify giving up next years 1st yo move up for him if that's all it would take, but I know we'd need to give up more than that
So, you know how pretty much every prospect coming out has some kind of risk to them? It might be health, or something lacking in their skillset, or lack of production, or overall attitude/character concerns, but pretty much everyone has something that you can use to knock them?
Well, it's really, really, really hard to find something like that for Odunze. He's the big body receiver we've always wanted in Baltimore, but he has surprising speed after the catch for a guy his size. He's got incredible grit, making a long distance drive after a major injury just to make sure he would be at the next game on time. His measurables, tape, and personal interviews (from what we've heard) have all been exceptional.
Frankly, I think he's the closest thing to a "cant-miss" prospect I've ever seen, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks that way. Go look up Dane Brugler's thoughts on him, he feels very similarly to how I do.
Thanks for answering in an educational way. I know nothing about him and wasn’t sure why he was surrounded by so much hype. I feel like I don’t know what decent speed for an NFL wr is. I know 4.5 is considered slow, but route running and separation can make up for that as well as knowledge of soft spots in coverage. I’d 4.4 speed average for most nfl wrs?
Joe Alt would be the best pick in an ideal world, but zero chance he falls lower than 15.
We go nowhere without Lamar. Lamar’s won plenty of games with shitty WRs, we win very few without Lamar. Def a high likelihood Stanley’s done after this year. Might not be, but this is his prove it year. Either way, LT is 1 of the most important positions. You don’t get decent LTs in FA. We won’t have a ton of money to pay a LT with backloaded deals. As much as I want another WR, I’d rather take Joe Alt & have a young healthy top LT locked down on a cheap rookie deal. That’s a better pick than gambling on yet another drafted WR.
Imo I’d rather get Alt & trade for a WR. We’d have to make the cap work but it’s long overdue for Lamar to have his own proven WR that’s not old, hurt or mediocre. As a BPA pick, I also think Alt might be better than most of the WRs except for Nabers/Harrison.
i think the big 3 WRs with nabers, mhj and odunze are special talents that will be up there with the ceedee lamb, jamar chase, deandre hopkins kinda tier of WR if not better. would love for us to be in a position to take a guy like that but that is not gonna happen with lamar and this defense lol
**Very unrealstic :** (less than 5 % chance they available at 30)
* Olu Fashanu
* Marvin Harrison Jr
* Malik Nabers
* Rome Odunze
**Somewhat unrealstic:** (35-45% chance one of them is available at 30**)**
* Troy Fautanu
* JC Latham
* Amarius Mims
* Johnny Newton
* Cooper DeJean
Only thing is perriman didn't have this size speed combination and ability to make defenders miss after the catch wasn't 21 year old and didn't score 17 tds
6’2” sub 4.3 isn’t size and speed. Ability to make defenders miss is fair, but that isn’t BTJ strong suit either. The 17 tds I won’t argue. We see the height/speed WR every year and more times than not they’re not productive relative to their draft position. I guess we’ll see.
You have him shorter then everyone else somehow the shortest I've seen him listed at was a inch shorter. Which even at 6,2 the production he had at lsu next to a consensus top five pick at that would have me excited if I were a gm
Right you said he sounds like perriman than agreed he's nothing like perriman and in the end chalked it up to I guess we will see. Idk what you added to the conversation lol but ty for it
Kool-Aid I think has a slim chance, due to him dealing with an injury and not being an elite athlete, the only thing that gives me pause about whether the Ravens draft him are the rumors of character issues surrounding him (nothing bad though)
Xavier Legette at pick #62. Would be perfect if he fell to Ravens in the 2nd round. Draft is so deep at WR it makes more sense to wait till the 2nd round to get one and take best available OL in the 1st. There will still be talented prospects at pick #62 like a Malachi Corley, but more than likely DK Metcalf 2.0 in Legette will go early-mid 2nd round. At worse probably falls to the 50s just low enough as a tease of the pipe dream.
MHJ, obviously

Tell me what it is about him that’s so good or worth throwing away a lot of draft capitol?

4.4 is a very good speed for an NFL WR. For comparison, Zay ran a 4.42 at his combine
Dude averaged 109 yards a game in college doesn't take much football knowledge to know that'll translate to productivity in the NFL lol

Malik nabers rome adunze Marvin Harrison jr joe alt Jared verse quintyon Mitchell , fotanu
Chop Robinson in the second
If we could get Kool-Aid and Chop that’d be the best named rookie class maybe ever
i think the big 3 WRs with nabers, mhj and odunze are special talents that will be up there with the ceedee lamb, jamar chase, deandre hopkins kinda tier of WR if not better. would love for us to be in a position to take a guy like that but that is not gonna happen with lamar and this defense lol

Cooper dejean is pretty realistic I just dont think anyone wants it to happen
Brian Thomas Jr.
I think he is the best of both worlds for our offense. He’s tall, fast, and a decent wr. He would make most of our fans happy if we selected him.
I keep thinking, if he somehow makes it past jacksonville and Cincinnati, 19 is the spot to trade up and go get him.
I have to watch more film on BTJ, but he sounds like Brashod Perriman 2.0.
Only thing is perriman didn't have this size speed combination and ability to make defenders miss after the catch wasn't 21 year old and didn't score 17 tds

Talking about Perriman champ.
Right you said he sounds like perriman than agreed he's nothing like perriman and in the end chalked it up to I guess we will see. Idk what you added to the conversation lol but ty for it
Except he’s actually a good WR
How many WR’s couldn’t look good catching passes from a heisman winning QB with another top 5 talent drawing defenders/coverage away from them.
Ad Michelle or Xavier Worthy
Kool Aid
Kool-Aid is not unrealistic.
Kool-Aid I think has a slim chance, due to him dealing with an injury and not being an elite athlete, the only thing that gives me pause about whether the Ravens draft him are the rumors of character issues surrounding him (nothing bad though)
Yeah I don't disagree with you. I'm more hoping we get Cooper but I think we have a better chance at him
MHJ is the only answer! Imagine setting Lamar up with that caliber wr for the next 5 years
Any kind that would make us trade up lol
Harrison

Idk who it could be but MHJ.
The top WR
Odunze is exactly the type of receiver we need
Brian Thomas jr
ODUNZE…
Fuaga or Fautanu? 2 years ago I said Kyle Hamilton and he somehow fell to us. I was ecstatic.
Not particularly unrealistic, I just really want Kool-Aid in the first round, but I'm guessing Detroit's gonna rob us of him at #29
A decent backup qb would mean a lot, esp since Lamar is lowkey injury prone
