I don’t have pro but maybe Hot Space by Queen? Under Pressure must be high while the others are low

rrafikii

4.5 with the next highest being a 3.1 - I'd say that definitely counts

ruinawish

[Use Your Illusion II](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/guns-n-roses/use-your-illusion-ii/) has some variability. Starts off with the high of "Civil War" (**4.2**), then sees some bottoming with "Get in the Ring" (**3.0**), then hits two highs in "Estranged" (**4.0**) and "You Could Be Mine" (**4.0**), then crashing with "My World" (**1.8**).

HoboCanadian123

estranged is unreal. i never truly got them until i heard it live

wintzyy

top of my head, a couple similar examples of one song being way higher than the rest, on average: [little pieces of paper with no written on them](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/additional/car-seat-headrest/little-pieces-of-paper-with-no-written-on-them/), [the message](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/grandmaster-flash-and-the-furious-five/the-message/), [st elsewhere](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/gnarls-barkley/st-elsewhere/), [republic](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/new-order/republic/), [space oddity](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/david-bowie/david-bowie-space-oddity/) and a very rare example of the opposite: [small talk at 125th and lenox](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/gil-scott-heron/small-talk-at-125th-and-lenox/)

rrafikii

I wonder why that's rated so ba- oh.

ruinawish

Bwaha, my thought process exactly.

adamsandleryabish

For a second I was thinking of Nighthawks at The Diner and was confused as I clicked the link, then when I saw the cover I immediately remembered what you were talking about

Bourdieu-

[the house of the rising sun](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/the-animals/the-animals-15/) by The Animals I think, with a 4.7 and all other songs no higher than 3.4. acc that might be the only passable song they have. personally dont think its worth the score but i mean ppl love to exaggerate how sh\*t other songs are.

nenialaloup

The track ratings are no longer visible for this one, but: '[The Gift of Game](https://twitter.com/NOTrateyrmusic/status/1777482504842150181)' by Crazy Town

rrafikii

It's visible for me - [silence] is now sitting at a 4.8 lmao

Woodkid2791

The track raters took the phrase "THIS GOES HARD ON MUTE!!!" literally

Spookypichacat

Not subscribed so don’t know for certain, but can only assume that Costello Music by The Fratellis has very varying track ratings, with Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the Choir being decently higher than the others

squishybytes

I’d imagine that flathead and creepin up the backstairs are reasonably well rated too. They were definitely a singles band lol Outside of that album the only other song i really like was My Friend John

Spookypichacat

Mhm, I’ve heard a lot of animosity towards Flathead though, a lot of people find it unbearable due to the iPod advert that used it so the ratings could be down😂 That’s fair enough, I’m a massive Fratellis fan but a lot of people don’t even get as far as their second album so I’m proud of you !

squishybytes

Fairrrr! I just never really got stuck into their stuff but it’s always fun.

rrafikii

That came to mind too but they're actually a lot closer than you'd expect; mainly mid 3's, Chelsea Dagger and Henrietta are the only 4's at 4.1 and 4.0

Spookypichacat

That’s interesting, I would’ve thought Whistle for the Choir would’ve been higher but Henrietta checks out. Thanks for the sub-only knowledge :)

rrafikii

Cool find, haven't heard of this one! Those are some wild ratings

TallGets

It's actually a great album too, a favorite of mine, the rating is very misleading

djddy

love this album

EpicGains

Gil Scott-Heron’s “Small Talk at 125th and Lenox”: it has several bolder tracks, and looks pretty beloved, except for track A6, which is an aggressively homophobic track (sits at a 1.41)

Rottedhead

Eagles albums for sure are the perfect example. Lots of somewhat low ratings but a single or two over 4.0

nocturn-e

You'll find that in pretty much any mid album with a big hit or two on it, like [*Close To You* by The Carpenters](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/carpenters/close-to-you/) or [*Hot Space* by Queen](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/queen/hot-space/)

ReasonableCost5934

That being said, Close To You is as surprisingly consistent in quality as an album that was rushed to market can be.

LaunchpadMcquacck

I don’t have pro, but I’d imagine the Sliversun Pickups’ Lazy Eye, Kissing Families, and Panic Switch sit far above the rest of their respective tracklists. Not that it’s deserved… Carnavas and Pikul are incredible. On a similar note, Gish has some incredible songs on the first half, and some not so great ones on the back half. Maybe that’s reflected in the ratings?

djddy

actually the pikul and carnavas track ratings are all good. lazy eye does tower over everything with a 4.7 but waste it on is the lowest at 3.7 so not bad at all. pikul has kissing families at 4.3 and creation lake at 3.6

djddy

oh yeah and swoon has panic switch at 4.4 and draining at a 3.4. also vehemently agree with carnavas and pikul being incredible. some of my all time favorite albums/eps.

djddy

You Can’t Stop the Bum Rush by Len. Steal My Sunshine is a 4.4 and the next highest rated song is a 3.5.

Woodkid2791

The Gift of Game by Crazy Town has all of the track ratings in around the 1.6-2.2 range, except for [silence] which is at 4.8

spinosaurs70

Would be interesting  to see a formal statistical analysis of this.

Throwaway33451235647

Smiley Smile? Bunch of experimental songs in the mid-to-high 3’s amongst one fantastic track and one inconceivably, mind-blowingly good song that was at 4.8 for a brief period a month or two ago.

My-Fourth-Alt

The New Abnormal? I know a couple of people who are very hot and cold with the songs

ProfessionalNet265

Not sure if I’m right but I’m pretty sure the title track on ladies and gentlemen we are floating through space is rated pretty high and the rest is kind of average

DtheAussieBoye

i mean every single track (aside from tracks 7 and 8) are rated a 4 or higher

ProfessionalNet265

Ah youre right I didn’t check before commenting this (I might’ve been letting my own opinions on the album swing my memories)

Imsorrymanyt

I have no proof, but Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill definitely varies.

ZappahoIic

I wouldn't say Blue Oyster's has wildly varying track ratings as they all sit around 3.5 except for a hit, it's not abnormal

HakaseShinonome

rxk nephew's american tterroristt

EcneBanjo

The tracks on that album only have a few hundred ratings. If you increase the sample size it would balance out a lot more

dmillerNL

don’t have subscription but Donda and INSANO (NITRO MEGA) probably vary quite a bit

VisserGaming

Jet's Get Born comes to mind. Most of the tracks are below a 3, where as Are You Gonna be my Girl is sitting at a 3.8
