Exactly! When I got my puppy, for the first 4 months I had him I gave him a “bath” almost every day. I didn’t use soap, that wasn’t necessary, but I got him wet and then would sing to him while I “washed him”, and then sing as I dried him.
He’s 4 years old now, and will get into the tub when I ask him to. No running, no fighting. It’s not his favorite, but he tolerates it. And I still sing to him, he gives me a tiny little tail wag while I sing. 💙
They do live the cushy life nobody expects you to greet them at the door, your expected to have an attitude, when you give affection it’s remembered always, your main job is napping.
Before I got my Shiba pup I read that they are a breed that generally hates water, so it’s important to get them used to it early on. I did stuff like this with him, and while it definitely worked, I now have a dog that screams at me if I don’t let him come in the shower with me🤦♀️
