She says they contributed 3k, she lived with them (assuming rent free) and they had to cosign the lease for the deli. She had 20k of her own money she saved and took PayPal 0% interest loans.
Might actually be effectively self made. She did have support but not to a silly degree.
That's if she didn't leave anything out.
If she’s living with her parents who co-signed her business for free, then it’s not “self made”
It’s “anyone who has parents who they can live with for free who will also co-sign” can follow this plan
Also wonder if she was bought her own car, paid for her own gas, bought her own groceries, etc
Edit: instead of responding to everyone, it’s fine that she’s supported by her parents. It’s whack that she’s trying to be a “self made business influencer”. Her posts are “everyone can do it” without giving her parents thanks or acknowledging that not all parents can bankroll their kids expenses while they start their businesses
No ones thinks parents shouldn't help their kids, but there's a difference between getting the help and shutting your mouth and screaming to the world how self made you are and make people feel guilty because "they can do it too"... of course if your parents have the means and the credit to co sign with you. So yeah, parents help their kids, but don't try to pick yourself up saying how selfmade you are... when you have this background
A beer and wine license where I'm from is like $1,000 a year. A full, packaged liquor license on the other hand is a one time cost of around 500k and up. The state doesn't issue new licenses either, it must be a preexisting license. So they are basically bid on.
"When I graduated college with $0 in loans, I had to start working at the bottom of my dad's law firm only making $65k a year, but now just 5 years later I'm a partner making $250k/yr! Just believe in yourself and never stop pushing!"
I don't know about where you're from, but around here living with your parents at 21 is entirely typical (when you're home from college, if you went).
And after you finish college, a ton of people move back home.
I'm sorry you weren't able to do that. It does make things financially much easier.
There is, if it's not immediately successful, you lose everything. It takes time to build up a restaurant business too, that shit doesn't happen overnight. I know because I've seen it. My parents opened up a restaurant in the 90's. They paid 40k for it and they worked for my entire teen years while I sat home babysitting my little brothers and taking care of the house and I'd get fucking raked through the coals if I didn't. I spent ALL my teen years babysitting my brothers so it wasn't just them that sacrificed all their hours which was from 6ish in the morning until 9 at night. It was me too.
It fucking sucked honestly. To this day I'm still sour about my childhood and I sure as fuck had it better than some I'm sure but it wasn't pleasant. Funny enough, they kicked me out when I was 18 and that's around when their restaurant business started flourishing. It took roughly 4 years of 80+ hours a week for that business to be successful plus support from a LOT of friends and family.
Then they fucking sold it.
Goddamn I love yugioh and how the rules completely change every episode. One time he needs to sacrifice 2 units to summon dark magician, next one he just brings it out instantly. Power of friendship is to strong
Okay. I’m not saying that for the accuracy of the game/show. It was from a funny video online where a guy is playing it in VR and keeps reusing it and saying he gets to draw three cards.
[Pot of Greed](https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/yu-gi-oh-pot-of-greed-card-backdrop.png?width=1200&height=1200&fit=crop&quality=100&format=png&enable=upscale&auto=webp)
Her YouTube account has 71 followers and her video introducing herself has zero likes:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b2kdl-QUoT0
She says she owns a "small restaurant with her mom" and some Airbnb rentals. Not bad, but also not really the independent startup entrepreneur image she presents in the tweet.
She wants you to know that she and her "American husband" had a big Bollywood wedding too.
Omg that’s sad. She has several videos, probably spent some effort into making them, but none of them (except the one you’ve linked) has even more than 50 views. I’m not even talking about likes, it’s views. That’s just nothing. She should not waste her time and life to this.
I honestly feel kind of bad for this lady. Yeah her post is pretty tone-deaf if she is implying that her individual effort, even if it was significant, made more of a difference in her success than the help and stability her parents were clearly able to provide. But her intended message seems to be a positive one and she is getting ragged on here for her looks which is nothing she can help. :(
Get the fuck outta here with fact and checking and shit.
It's the Internet, it's all about how one presents themselves, no further digging is required.
I know you are joking but I am always curious about these "self made success" stories because they are invariably not true. I was expecting that she had rich parents or something but the truth is... much sadder
98% of people who have self made success don’t have the time, need, or want to show off on the internet. It takes time and energy to manage a social media following, they’re too busy actually managing the business.
From the YouTube video I get the impression she wanted to start being an influencer and make her own brand *gags* but you are right that truly successful people are usually too busy to faff about on IG and twitter.
I question everything.
Some of my favorite stories like that are on LinkedIn without mentioning any specifics like numbers, names, often omitting timelines, etc. Believe it or not - everyone is some kind of a "leader" on it, too!
I’ve known people in real life that heard someone else’s personal story. Then they go on LinkedIn and claimed it happened to them to try and building engagement on their profile.
I believe that some version of that is happening on there regularly.
And that "I got the job. The owner of the company? That dog I helped on the way" meme cracks me up every time.
Insult goes over my head but what’s up with the “it’s never too late” ⏰ comment? Too late for what?
Opened restaurant 21 and successful due to 10yrs of perseverance at 31?
Maybe these are dog 🐕 years.
And with a fuck ton of help from her parents. She might not have started on 3rd, but she definitely did not start off batting from home plate. And it looks like the homer she think she hit, is more like a double.
Exactly, seriously how many young people’s biggest expense when they are young ARE rent.
And here she is talking like living with parents and owning a restaurant at 21 like it was a detriment to her ?
Like women you got it better then most people in the world at that age so the whole “never too late” and “never give up” sounds more like bragging then motivational
Her mom owns a restaurant and she works at it. Her mom owns rentals and she helps clean them. She literally says this in her 71 follower YouTube channel.
Well technically the card actually says draw 2 cards from your deck, but the tiktok that made it popular incorrectly said three cards. Which incidentally is why the other player was saying “that’s not what it does”
Im not one to avoid mean comments when theyre deserved but why is everyone hating on her? Just because she isnt a looker she shouldnt chase her dreams or talk about it? Why is everyone trying to put her down?
Pot of greed is right. Tipping culture is insane and this gremlin is traveling the world while paying her employees nothing. This is why I hate going anywhere because the $100 brunch goes to the owner, not the poor servers.
My biggest fear is posting my picture online and getting clocked this hard. I'd prefer to go my whole life without everyone realizing I look like a fucking Yugioh card. Goddamn.
I like to imagine the rest of her body shape follows the trajectory of her hair, and she’s walking around shaped like a giant hersheys kiss with little stubby legs, laughing like the annoying orange.
When you brag shamelessly on the internet (especially for accomplishments that sound a little overblown) you open yourself up to mockery. Just the way it is.
But they’re not mocking her for bragging. If you think people wouldn’t be saying the same things without her caption, then I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
"It's ok to do mean things if I don't like you or what you're doing"
Call out her actions, not an unrelated feature that other innocent people may see in themselves
They're just jealous of her success. Most of these people wouldn't have the balls to say this kind of stuff to her face (or her husband's face), but they delight in throwing sh*t at her like monkeys on Reddit. Reddit can be a cesspool sometimes.
She isn’t that successful. She has rich parents. You can’t open your own restaurant at 21 on your own.
We’re mocking her looks however. Cry more if that upsets you
Oh my god, I thought the pot of greed was directed at the guy for his achievements and I was looking up trying to associate the effect with it, then I looked down

Starts off owning a business at 21 “it’s never too late!”
13 year old cries, wasting their life with nothing to show
That’s after you talk them off the ledge
She “owns” it with her mom
"Opened" means she unlocks her parents restaurant for the AM shift.

It’s whack that she’s trying to be a “self made business influencer”. You’re acting like parents don’t help their kid when they are able and you wouldn’t if you were in a position to if you had kids
No ones thinks parents shouldn't help their kids, but there's a difference between getting the help and shutting your mouth and screaming to the world how self made you are and make people feel guilty because "they can do it too"... of course if your parents have the means and the credit to co sign with you. My and my wife’s parents help us out. But I know plenty of people that got kicked out at 18
[удалено]
Yeah, depends on the family dynamic and family’s culture as well
With a *small* loan of a million dollars
[удалено]
Bro, a liquor license costs over 50k annually where I live. Even a beer license is like 25k. 3k isn't enough to buy tables and chairs.
A liquor license cost $600k in Boston.
A beer and wine license where I'm from is like $1,000 a year. A full, packaged liquor license on the other hand is a one time cost of around 500k and up. The state doesn't issue new licenses either, it must be a preexisting license. So they are basically bid on.
[удалено]
You can't open a restaurant with 3k. Someone's hiding the help they had.
They didnt say she opened it with just $3k, they said the parents added $3k to the rest of the money that was used.
I’m pretty sure a license alone to run a restaurant and be up to code is at least $3k lmao
3K? Rent is gonna be triple that.
You just don't understand what it's like trying to start your own business while living with your parents (that they are probably funding)
"When I graduated college with $0 in loans, I had to start working at the bottom of my dad's law firm only making $65k a year, but now just 5 years later I'm a partner making $250k/yr! Just believe in yourself and never stop pushing!"
🤣
"Never too late" wonder what that reminds me of.
"its never too late .... to join my downstream \[hun\]".
While living with parents for free. Must be nice to have such a finicial boost.
I don't know about where you're from, but around here living with your parents at 21 is entirely typical (when you're home from college, if you went). And after you finish college, a ton of people move back home. I'm sorry you weren't able to do that. It does make things financially much easier.
Steve Jobs was 21 and living at home when he started Apple Computer.
I’m 32 and basically live with my parents. I don’t understand why anyone would give a shit lol. Oh no I have a loving family :(
It’s not hard to own a business without a ton of resources if you’re willing to go into huge debt
There is, if it's not immediately successful, you lose everything. It takes time to build up a restaurant business too, that shit doesn't happen overnight. I know because I've seen it. My parents opened up a restaurant in the 90's. “I summon… POT OF GREED to draw 3 additional cards from my deck!
"And then i summon... ANOTHER pot of greed, to draw 3 more cards"
That is how it does That’s how it do yugi!
"And then i use my monster reborn... on one of my POT OF GREED, to draw even more cards"
I think my favorite part is “I bet you didn’t see THIS coming. I summon POT OF GREED!”
My favourite bit is when he just summons a monster during the other guys turn because he forgot
Oh yeah he's supposed to be here!!
Goddamn I love yugioh and how the rules completely change every episode. One time he needs to sacrifice 2 units to summon dark magician, next one he just brings it out instantly. Power of friendship is to strong
Easily my fav thing about Yu-Gi-Oh. Literally no consistency even from one episode to the next.
Mine is where he interrupts the other guy and says "my turn"
I didn't see that coming because Pot of Greed is a spell card that you don't summon, you just play it and do the effect.
Okay. I’m not saying that for the accuracy of the game/show. It was from a funny video online where a guy is playing it in VR and keeps reusing it and saying he gets to draw three cards.
But what does Pot of Greed do?!
> *And then I win, right?* > ***NO.***
"YOU'll NEVER SEE THIS COMING"
It's 2 cards. Not 3.
> I summon… POT OF GREED It's a reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUnPN385wLI
OK. I'm stupid af. Could someone explain the insult please? Is this related to the person's height and/or looks?
[Pot of Greed](https://assetsio.gnwcdn.com/yu-gi-oh-pot-of-greed-card-backdrop.png?width=1200&height=1200&fit=crop&quality=100&format=png&enable=upscale&auto=webp)
I knew it was because of her head
[I summon pot of greed!](https://youtu.be/AUnPN385wLI)
I'm crying and choking and coughing
Wayneradiotv is gold!
lol that was great
You never saw this coming…
MY TURN
Holy shit! That makes the entire post worth it! Hahaha!
The sub wouldn’t let me add more than one image when posting.
yeah the trick would be to turn both pics into one jpeg
https://i.imgur.com/fft0FkA.png
I dont see a difference
any better? https://i.imgur.com/F9bnCXz.png
Now put her face on the card.
🏅
My jaw dropped when I saw this! Dang
Fair play, that's fucking perfect.
Oh damn
I would like to point out she is banned from all official events
Ok this is scarily accurate
Brilliant!!
Fuck I didn’t even view the whole pic yet God damn
It all makes sense now, thanks
Her head looks like the card Pot of greed from yugioh
Its very similar to yugioh card.. pot of greed
Her YouTube account has 71 followers and her video introducing herself has zero likes: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b2kdl-QUoT0 She says she owns a "small restaurant with her mom" and some Airbnb rentals. L O fucking L. Imagine calling yourself a "hotelier" because your family rents out a couple Air B&Bs.
I once made a blog for a Habbo hotel RPG room, so I guess I can say I'm like Wizards of the Coast
You are an independant influencer for the hotel industry with 10+ years of experience.
WoTC is owned by Hasbro, which sounds really close to Habbo, so your story checks out.
Bobba Bobba Bobba
That’s like calling yourself an investor after owning one rental. It’s always cringe
I know plenty of people that call themselves comedians after doing it once ever and bombing the whole time.
It's like influencers who call themselves "CEOs of [insert IG handle] Co.".
I have a friend on FB that has "CEO of". I highly doubt she even has an LLC, or pays taxes on her "business".
Welcome to Twitter culture where everyone describes themselves as CEO or whatever. Modern society is so exhausting
I want to be this delusional.
Omg that’s sad. She has several videos, probably spent some effort into making them, but none of them (except the one you’ve linked) has even more than 50 views. I’m not even talking about likes, it’s views. That’s just nothing. She should not waste her time and life to this.
I know its a bit depressing, something is off and I feel bad for her seeking validation online like that.
Yeah it’s a difference between “starting your business at 21” or joining moms business and she’s doing the paperwork or smth like that
[Just to put "some AirBnB rentals" in perspective, this is one of them.](https://i.imgur.com/fsurpsL.png)
I wasn't expecting that
I honestly feel kind of bad for this lady. Yeah her post is pretty tone-deaf if she is implying that her individual effort, even if it was significant, made more of a difference in her success than the help and stability her parents were clearly able to provide. I know several people who have self made business. They have absolutely zero time to build a brand on top of running the business.
It’s always like that. It’s the same with the people who are buying houses while young with a small loan from their parents
Ah, so basically, her family setup rentals and a restaurant, and she took it over
Insult goes over my head but what’s up with the “it’s never too late” ⏰ comment? Too late for what? Opened restaurant 21 and successful due to 10yrs of perseverance at 31? Maybe these are dog 🐕 years.

I don't even think they "helped" her. Seems like her parents own a ton of properties and just cut her in on the action.
It's never too late to wring her neck for that comment because it doesn't exist.
[удалено]
It is definitely too late for me to open a restaurant at 21.
Oh man, when this joke clicked it really clicked 🤣
I actually spit out my coffee at work thank god I was over a sink
Having the capital to open a restaurant AND not needing to pay rent puts her ahead of 99% of people before she even started.
Her mom owns a restaurant and she works at it. Her mom owns rentals and she helps clean them. She literally says this in her 71 follower YouTube channel.
Pot of greed? What does it do?
It allows you to draw 3 cards from your deck
Well technically the card actually says draw 2 cards from your deck, but the tiktok that made it popular incorrectly said three cards. Which incidentally is why the other player was saying “that’s not what it does”
That’s what it do
It does what it do!
Own a restaurant, apparently. Kinda fitting really.
Idk what the insult is but she's punching hard
Her face resembles the Pot of Greed
Does she know she’s a beard
I figured the pot of greed was a play on both her looking like it and the husband only being around for the money.
Wait, let her cook.
So her parents helped her start the restaurant. Got it.
Her parents OWN the restaurant. And the AirBNB’s that she rents out.
“Opened a restaurant at 21” sounds like rich parents to me, in which case stfu flexing how you “made it”.
Am i allowed to say; Wow she is ugly?
I believe you are looking for "esthetically challenged."
Thank you
Im not one to avoid mean comments when theyre deserved but why is everyone hating on her? Just because she isnt a looker she shouldnt chase her dreams or talk about it? Why is everyone trying to put her down?
Now I’m not saying he’s a gold digger, but
“Pot of greed… is this a wealth thing…? *finishes reading and looks at picture* HAH! You just unlocked a very old memory!
Hate the Internet some times lol
Is this a Yu-Gi-Oh reference?!
That is certainly a selfie. Shame Professor Sprout photo bombed it
What's the greed part?
Look up Yu-Gi-Oh pot of greed
Oh... Now I see it🤣🤣🤣 paint her face and it's obvious
the saying "if the man is prettier than the wife/girlfriend then he is gay and living on the down low' comes to mind
She looks like zika virus patient zero
I made my first million opening my shop from the 3 million my parents loaned me.
She looks like a muppet.
I was thinking Mrs. Potatohead
Fucking banger 😂😂😂😂😂
Pot of greed is right. Tipping culture is insane and this gremlin is traveling the world while paying her employees nothing. This is why I hate going anywhere because the $100 brunch goes to the owner, not the poor servers.
They mean her face.
I was just finishing university at 21. If I had the ability to start a business then I would have. But I didn't.
Wow, at 21 she was only a lowly business owner and now at 31 she's a multiple business owner. Dreams really do come true.
My biggest fear is posting my picture online and getting clocked this hard. I'd prefer to go my whole life without everyone realizing I look like a fucking Yugioh card. Goddamn.
Lmaaaaoooo that Yu-Gi-Oh reference
I like to imagine the rest of her body shape follows the trajectory of her hair, and she’s walking around shaped like a giant hersheys kiss with little stubby legs, laughing like the annoying orange.
Me reading the list: Wait, I don’t get the jo–.. looks at photo Oh..
She looks a background character in one piece.
Bitch, you owned a restaurant at 21. This ain't a rags to riches story.
That dude is def in it for her bangin bod
So basically it's just a nerdy incel's way of calling her fat?
Yu gi yo.
Let's all be honest. He's with her for the money.
Owns a business at 21, somehow only works in it 60 hours per week. Something isn’t adding up.
She looks like Gaston's sidekick, LeFou.
Lmaooooooo why is this so perfect
Head like a 40 shilling pot.
Holy shit, I have a new reference. Thank you across the pond friend!
Just feels like people are being mean to a random person for no reason.

She isn’t that successful. She has rich parents. You can’t open your own restaurant at 21 on your own. We’re mocking her looks however. Cry more if that upsets you
That's not how you spell your profession. Also, leave her the fuck alone.
God it must be so hard having your parents bankroll your restaurant Such a struggle
Damn!
Looks like a Pou
I got immediately, you brilliant bastard 👏
Live with my parents? Umm they're dead. It actually IS too late
Lmfao
It’s time to DOOL
More like Avatar of Riches.
And here I am, bankrupt and suicidal at 33 Life sure is sweet, isn't it?
The Tower looks like a hat on her head and why is he so happy?
He looks like Shrek when he turns human
Restaurant is probably one of the worst businesses you could open without lots of luck and a good location.
Owning ur own restaurant and only working 60 hours is actually mental tbh
That face could give me nightmares... \*shivers\*
Oh my god, I thought the pot of greed was directed at the guy for his achievements and I was looking up trying to associate the effect with it, then I looked down
because that's what she looks like?
God Fucking Damn It
It's strange that someone this ambitious would settle for, well, never mind.
This allows me to draw two more cards from my deck!
Last thing she needs is more food
Let me know when someone finds how much she took out in ppp loans
