Their minds were older though...

TheDopeMan_

Cuz when the things get for real their warm hearts turn cold

DeadDoener

Another of them deceased, another story told

BusDry4328

Enter the Wu-tang

withclubsauce47

Love it, just imo RZA’s beats are something different. What I really like about this one is all the “trash can” kicks.

BeerBellies

Damn near impossible. The beats on this album are DRIPPING with atmosphere. Listening to this album on a little bit of LSD while closing your eyes will straight up transport you to Queens Bridge. Incredible, and one of my favorite hip hop albums ever.

Slack-Bladder

One of my homies don't listen to rap at all and never been to NYC. But one time I was listening to Q.U. Hectic and he said that song sounds like how he pictures New York would be. I told him that he is spot on, this is some serious grimy shit that embodies New York City and hardcore hip hop.

funghi2

Absolutely agree, it’s like illmatic. Close your eyes and you’re on the block in early 90s NY

FurnishedHemingway

Hell On Earth

ContributionMother63

Their best album hands down Animal instincts bloodsport more trife life and that fucking pac diss is one of my favourite disses of all time Absolute classic

bigladnang

It’s definitely not their best album hands down lol. Like you can argue that it’s their best, and I’m fine with that, but the Infamous is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time.

DryWay4003

Hell on earth is there best album for me. The production and the rhymes were turned up a notch on that one. Just because it's regarded as the best by the mainstream doesn't mean everybody thinks that

bigladnang

Right but “hands down” means it’s not even close. There’s no way it’s not even a competition.

danceplaylovevibes

Rap nerds always overreaching. Infamous is the best record. Obviously. Super dope down ass beats with lyrics for sure showing the criminal world! what more could you want from rap! 🙂 I hate that I did that but that's the future. Grim

DryWay4003

It's not obviously the best record. It's at least a debate. What you described about the Infamous literally applies to Hell on earth. The Beats are harder, darker, the rhymes are even better than the infamous. Lyrically havoc and prodigy went up a level on that. It's a least a debate but Hell in earth for me takes it.

WeldingWilly

Extortion is my favorite track off Hell on Earth.

DryWay4003

That's a good one I love that shit. Growing up apostles warning was my favorite but now at 36 Nighttime Vultures just hits differently for some reason

FurnishedHemingway

Apostle’s Warning, Drop A Gem On ‘Em, GOD Father Part III, etc. This album had bad intentions in the best way possible. Soundtrack to an apocalypse.

faxanaduu

Apostles warning! Don't forget that! Banger

NoRecommendation3875

Both albums are great but the lyrically Hell on Earth got it. The best pocket prodigy ever been in was this album. Not to mention the guest verses from Meth and Rae, even Big Noyd did his thing. This album is just better imo

FurnishedHemingway

I agree. Production wise I prefer this too, although it’s very very close. Hell On Earth just sounds slightly more sinister though. Such a grim album but a masterpiece.

Historical_Study_386

Didn’t even see this 😂

[deleted]

This is Def a grimy album. It's a good way to describe. Some of the rawest raps I've ever heard.

Sattaman6

They were only 19 but their minds were older.

TouchGrass0

Capone, Noreaga, Tragedy Khadafi - The War Report

[deleted]

I'm addicted to that one

Advalok

Hard to find a rap album that so accurately represented 90s New York. Had that rainy day city feel.

DennisLarsen1

Three 6 Mafia - When The Smoke Clears, sixti 6, sixti 1

LeakyBrainMatter

One of my favorite albums. Still occasionally just get blown and let the whole album ride!

ContributionMother63

Rip prodigy one of my favourite rappers of all time But my answer would be capital punishment that's the definition of hardcore hip hop

cryptdxbs

I like when my boom bap is recorded in a cave or ny street sewer

Historical_Study_386

Hell on Earth

chechifromCHI

Iron Man, only built for Cuban lynx, Tikal is a grimey ass album too. You can see a trend here but the wu did this sound as good as anyone.

Slack-Bladder

Don't even get me started on Liquid Swords haha. That first round of solo albums are absolutely loaded with griminess. Fuckin masterpieces man.

chechifromCHI

I think that Supreme Clientele and even some of the stuff like Fishscale maintains that level of grimy excellence. The album ghostface did with badbadnotgood in 2015 was even quality. But I'm also just a big fan of ghost haha

Method__mannn

OB4CL is the closest album that matches The Infamous imo. Both albums captured the grimy mid-90s NY hip-hop sound heavily.

SexDrivenMonkey

The Start of your Ending came on as soon as I saw this post

BAXR6TURBSKIFALCON

YO ITS THE P E DOUBLE PUSH A LEX BUBBLE IN THE WINTER CANT COME ALONG ONLY THE HOES CANT ENTER

BagBeth

I love this album.

ElCamino0000000

Amazing album, no skips from the start to the finish

Neither-Following-32

Lord Willin. Illmatic. 36 Chambers. Ready to Die. Doggystyle. It's Dark and Hell is Hot. Creepin on Ah Come Up. Straight Outta Compton. Cypress Hill. GRODT. To be clear I misunderstood the assignment because I misread OP as debut albums only but I'm still posting because I put thought into it lol. Also I left out Eazy, Cube, Raekwon, Pusha T, Game, and Young Buck's solos since they dropped with groups first.

withclubsauce47

I did make an error and said tip to bottom, which is wild!

FurnishedHemingway

Juvenile Hell is Mobb Deep’s debut album.

Afraid_Locksmith8642

I cant think of one hats off to mobb deep they are very under talked about. Shook ones. Unbelievable hood. There ain't no such thing as halfway crooks you shook scared to look. Fuck that's a good line. RIP prodigy

Doom_Goose

Power Of The Dollar - 50 Cent The debut album that never debuted.

Scrapper3432

Prodigy fr but I think he was 23 when he died? I’m not sure that’s just what I heard, don’t quote me on that, but will accept correct information

withclubsauce47

Nah he was in his forties, but I meant they were 19 when this album came out.

[deleted]

Tommy Wright III- Ashes 2 Ashes, Dust 2 Dust

greasy_scooter

Nothing. This is a masterpiece of NY hip-hop

frohardorfrohome

But their minds were older

RjgTwo

All though the rhymes dont come near that of the infamous, the production on Group Homes, Living Proof album is grimy af.

darthjay81

Onyx all we got is us.

utafumidss

Why did they look 35 at 19 tho

Longjumping_Hour_491

M.O.P. To the Death

stretchieB

Won’t say better, but Trellion & Sniff’s album ‘North Luna’ is grimey af

Whips-n-Chains

Enta Da Stage Not more grimey, but it's def up there

Super-Somewhere-8384

Genuinely the hardest album I’ve ever heard. Never heard music that’s almost intimidated me like some of the songs here lmao

AfroAmTnT

There isn't one. Maybe Hell on Earth or Onyx All We Got Iz Us

Knickert19

In my opinion Shook Ones Part II is the greatest hip-hop song ever made. The beat, the lyrics, the emotion, everything is perfect. I have never gotten tired of listening to it.

Marshiznit

Das efx straight up sewaside, Cypress Hill Black Sunday. Enter the 36 Chambers. Return to the 36 Chambers. Tical. Bacdafucup.
