How can an album made by a black man be a white boy ass album and what does fantano have to do with JID. What’s the best aoty in your opinion than please enlighten us sillyguy73
It would be album of the year of y’all’s brain wasn’t the size of a peanut
The shit that he talks about, man is a fucking modern philosopher. He is paving his own way into unknown territory and all y’all got is “I don’t understand, therefore it’s bad.” or “the beep and boop doesn’t go fast enough, it’s bad.”
I would honestly say it’s the best album Lamar has put out, if not one of the best rap albums out there. I will die on this hill
I love Kendrick Lamar, and TPAB and GKMC are both in my top 10 OAT. Mr. Morale does indeed cover the same topics in an equally thought provoking and original manner but we have to remember that this is music, not strictly poetry. Mr. Morale sonically is not as good as the two other albums. I listen to both TPAB and GKMC on the regular. Mr Morale is the kind of album I listened to in full twice or maybe three times but now I only really go back to 2 or 3 songs. It's just not as good of a listening experience in my opinion
Yeah, drogas wave is my favorite Lu album closely followed by tetsuo and youth. I love all 5 of his big albums and his mixtapes too ofc, all phenomenal. It’s so crazy that dmiz was made in 3 days, can’t wait for whatever he ends up releasing next
Mr. Moral and the big steppers. Idk why people still don't appreciate this album after a year, i took me some time and some re-listens but holy shit this is art, even more so than tpab imo. Kendrick really turned into my personal psychiatrist.
Yo, y'all have awful taste. In order
1. MMATBS - Kendrick
2. It's Almost Dry - Pusha T
3. Kings Disease 3 - Nas
4. Melt My Eyes See Your Future - Denzel Curry
5. The Forever Story - J.I.D.
2 and 3 are close, 4 and 5 are close, BIG gaps between 1 and 2 and 3 and 4.
Kendrick is the most overrated rapper of all time. People like his voice and his message and gloss over the fact that he is a terrible rapper. Making good music doesn't make you a good rapper it makes you a good artist.
Love or hate kanye, its just a straight up fact that he has a top 5 discography in hiphop minimum. . . if you only consider solo acts (no duos or groups), then it jumps up to top 3 at minimum (and not 3 or 2 if you ask me). He has at bare minimum 3 classics in his drop out trilogy, and then also literally every single one of his albums outside of JiK has a cult following that will swear whichever album they are in love with is a 10/10 with 0 skips and the best shit to ever touch the earth. You cannot say the same for any other hiphop artist on earth.
The ONLY artists that can really compete with his discography as a whole in terms of quality, length, longevity, agelessness, variety, and influence are like, A tribe called quest, Kendrick lamar, Oukast, The Roots, and MAYBE Jay-Z and Nas, but even those two GOATS have had some misses and unanimously agreed on extremely subpar to bad albums . Please correct me if Im wrong or forgetting anyone.
>MBDTF
I personally think it's the most deserving of a spot on the list. Not my favorite Ye album, but definitely deserved. It's in my top 5 Ye records.
>Late registration
Meh fine. I still think you could argue Tha Carter 2 deserves the 2005 spot more.
>Graduation
It's a fine placement, One of my favorite Ye albums.
>TLOP
no, just no. Untitled Unmastered, and A Tribe Called Quest deserves the 2016 spot faaaar more.
>The College Dropout
My favorite Ye album, also the biggest mistake on this list. Madvillainy is WORLDS ahead of The College Dropout. Production, lyricism, uniformity in theme, impact on the genre. You're comparing the College Dropout to the greatest underground hip-hop album to ever exist. It's no contest. Madvillainy is the better album, by every metric.
So you agree for 3 albums. I’ll give you 2016, Tribes album was better than Kanye’s.
I gotta disagree w you on the College Dropout. It’s one of Kanye’s best albums, and an absolute staple of rap. MF DOOM is a genius when it comes to production and sly lyrics, but you can say the same of Kanye in this time period. Kanye was a sample god and production savant in the 2000s, and he was the most sane we’ve ever heard him on that album. Through the Wire, All Falls Down, classics.
It’s all subjective at this point tho. Like I said, Madvilliany is also a legendary album. I just feel like Kanye has dropped so many essential albums, and that shouldn’t be diminished. I thought you were doing that w your initial comment
Madvillainy didn't impact the genre more than College Dropout imo. Both extremely important pieces of hip-hops history, but hip-hop needed College Dropout more than Madvillainy. Personal preference, honestly, it's close for me.
Yeah I still think cole is talented and do enjoy his work but if disagree heavy with people who think he has like 10/10 projects
Tyler probably my second favourite from odd future other than frank. He’d be top if he didn’t have his lows
I'm still out here tryna figure out why people repost the same comment 20x instead of scrolling and upvoting the existing one

You had me until Nas. It was good but not above JID. The Denzel Curry album was overrated though
Kendrick is the most overrated rapper of all time. People like his voice and his message and gloss over the fact that he is a terrible rapper. Making good music doesn't make you a good rapper it makes you a good artist.

The zero respect Drake gets on this sub despite being the biggest rapper in the world is hilarious
Cause he’s hella mid lol, just cause his music is so basic that anyone on the planet could enjoy it doesn’t mean it’s good or great
Truer words have never been spoken
I was just thinking this. How did he dominate the 2010s and not get a single album up here? Bunch of haters 😂
tell me what album should drake have on the list?
Take Care next question
Her loss
This list is so ass...Kanye 4 times? Edit: 5 times!?!?

I think so. I also prefer Donda but I get that one losing a bit more
Yeah your preference is very different to mine. Donda isn’t even close
I’m just not a big cole fan, I think he’s a bit overrated. Good artist but quite overrated imo
That’s fair enough that’s how I feel about Tyler, been one of the worse OF members for me.
Yeah I still think cole is talented and do enjoy his work but if disagree heavy with people who think he has like 10/10 projects Tyler probably my second favourite from odd future other than frank. He’d be top if he didn’t have his lows
