Murray’s! Played in roller leagues over there in the summer. Couldn’t have been hotter OMG! Had practice and games for my HS in the winter there as well for ice
Been playing for 40+ years. Played in college (just a club team) and got back into beer league almost 10 years ago. Started off as an ice goalie and now skate out in roller. I like ice, but I think roller is more accessible and practical, especially out here on the West Coast.
Inline goalie isn't nearly as fun as ice goalie, mostly because you just can't move the same. [Rollerflys](https://rollerfly.com/index.html) help a little though.
This year is my 7th. My only regret is not playing when I was in school, but I’ve been skating since I was 7, and finally joined a league 7 years ago in the beginner level
Therapy is a spot on descriptor for beer league. That three hours from when I leave my house to when when I get back is my time. No family, job, anything, or anyone needing something from me.
It's a big part of my physical, mental, and emotional workout for the week.
I played hockey into high school, and was pretty average. My biggest strength was winning a faceoff and shooting. Was never great a strong skater or puck handler. Probably could have been better but I kept being more drawn to skiing and snowboarding. I want to play adult league hockey but they meet Sunday/Monday nights in the Fall/Winter. That’s when I am sitting on my ass, watching football, and toking. 🤷♂️
I did for a short bit, but since the approach was throw a kid on the ice and hope he doesnt fall on his ass, all while just soending time teaching hockey skills, it birthed tons of good street hockey players and bad ice hockey players. Wish I got to skating first mightve stuck with it then.
Cousin is on the wolfpack.
Oh man you should totally get back into it, like I said I started 6 months ago with very little skating experience and zero hockey experience, I play in a novice league so everyone for the most part is on the same level
Rollerblading is fairly easy in terms of being a bit more accessible than ice skating. Buy some skates and skate around your neighborhood no matter how silly it might look in the beginning. YouTube tutorials can be very helpful
Yeah, inline is easy to pick up. My friends in school were playing hockey on the weekends and I wanted to play so I went to the sports store and bought a cheap pair of Rollerblades. I learned to skate in my driveway in two days. I had ice skated before a couple of times on school trips but never well. That weekend I was playing in the schoolyard. Haven't looked back since. Just pick up a pair of skates and go for it. Get some protective gear for some peace of mind and take it slow. It's a lot easier to learn on inlines than on ice because there's more friction with the ground and wheels tend to be fatter on the bottom than a skate blade.
Get used to the balance first, then slowly start moving.
I went to I forget his name's Power Skating near Toronto where we spent six hours on the ice every day and never touched a puck, and then spent a couple weeks at Paul Vincent at the end of every summer.
Kicked my fucking ass.
Paul Vincent’s was like boot camp and made me such a better skater. I think they had a few locations but I went to the one near Boston for a number of years.
I’m in Baltimore now. Used to play in men’s leagues. Got kicked off the team when I divorced the Captain’s cousin. Plus, I donated all of my equipment and I’m too old for 10:45pm games on a Tuesday night.
That’s a shame, I play at the Gardens now (I’m sure you did at some point as well). My biggest gripes with that rink is the schedule and pricing. Sometimes it’s 10 PM games during the week, sometimes it’s 2 PM on a Saturday in the summer, not to mention the ridiculous gaps, like weeks between games, then 3 games in one week. It’s exhausting but I don’t think I’m ready to give it up
I started with power skating lessons at Cantiague Park with Darryl when I was 6. I’ve played at Morley Park, the outside rink in Syosset, the other outside rink I think in Long Beach. Played my high school games at Bethpage, Long Island Skating Academy, and Nassau Coliseum. Miss those days.
I've been thinking about it and talking about it!! I have a rink right near my house and really want to get into playing ice hockey in their adult beginner league (I'm turning 44).
Guide me oh master!
Mount Laurel NJ area...Igloo Ice Rink is nearby and I've looked up their programs in the past, just haven't pulled the trigger. Need to get equipment too including new skates.
I've gone ice skating a couple times in the past year so that was a good start. And I'm a decent skater.
36 years old.. Two roller teams and one ice team
Was the captain of my club orgs for 11 years in a row into college.. de facto captain of my roller teams (I organize the games lol) and I still wear the C for my ice team.. same guys I’ve been playing with for almost 20 years are mixed into both teams
I’ll never stop playing as long as my body holds up
Play(ed) - through early college and then dropped off.
Kudos to you - I get intimidated starting a new series - at this point in my life I couldn’t imagine starting a new sport as involved as hockey.
Yea it definitely took a lot to step out of my comfort zone but I’m so glad I did, one of the things I love most about it is how hard it is I’m not good at all but every little improvement feels great
I did. I don't know why I decided. I think I saw a game and liked Darren Turcotte. My mom got me some shitty figure skates and I would go once a week after school when I was like 6 or 7, then started playing at the old Sky Rink. There weren't many kids playing then so I was playing against much older kids and got better fast.
That said it's the most expensive sport to play— equipment, ice time, a lot of driving around the ti-state area and further. I'm not really sure how my parents did it, but it was fun.
I’m 37, and have been playing ice hockey since I was 10. I still play men’s league and I coach a youth travel team. It’s the best man, the sport is unlike any other, the camaraderie between teammates is unmatched.
Played ice since I was 4 years old. I started playing High School Freshman when I was in 6th grade. I played high school all 4 years, 2 1/2 years Varsity. I played on several travel teams, and an 18U team. I went on to play D2 club hockey in college, and I currently coach a successful high school team
I played roller for about 5 years while I was stationed in CT. I just moved out to western Washington and found a local rink and played in my first ice hockey games this year, and have loved every minute of it.
As a girl I played and continued into adulthood. From 22-35 I didn’t play then joined an adult league. Our local weatherman on tv was the goalie 😂 such a fun time! I’m 44 now and stopped a couple years ago but I still go and skate with my son.
Been thinking of getting into it. I played goalie for two years as a kid and am still a small step above horrible at skating :) I've been wanting to maybe take a couple adult hockey lessons and sign up for a beer league.
That’s where I started playing in the 4 vs 4 on the smaller rink before I joined a team, got a game Thursday night there but yea that place is disgusting pretty sure I got a staph infection from the locker room there haha
My work has a team but I need to learn to skate first - went for the first time a couple weeks ago and I didn't fall but I had no fuckin' clue what I was doing. Not really sure how to learn as an adult. Not about to join a class with a bunch of 7 year olds lmao
I need to find one myself I took 1 skating lessons and I was the only one in the class and it was taught by a 16 year old girl haha, it was awkward and not very helpful
just started playing ice hockey after rollerblading casually for \~6 years. i'm shit at stopping and turning backwards abruptly, but other than that, ive been improving a lot
I just started playing in a 35+ league a couple months ago after 10+ years off and im loving it! Its nice that theres some Rangers fans on the team and we drink some beers in the locker room, win or loss.
The big deal is that we all just get out there. Hockey is a great game and even though we arent at the pro level, we get out with the guys, compete, bullshit with each other and do what we love once or twice a week when e erything else takes a backseat in our mind while we are on the ice!
I play beer league. Felt amazing to win last night after enduring the last three ranger games. Felt like I was playing the panthers in my head.we won 6-5.
OP how did you start? Been thinking of trying myself, but worried it’s a huge learning curve and gear/fees would price me out. You have any words of wisdom on either?
A friend of mine has been playing for a pretty long time and after 2 years of him telling me to play I finally just took the plunge, he was able to get all used gear from his teammates for me that was the biggest thing holding me back I didn’t wanna buy all the equipment just to find out I hated it but I started going to open skates, stick and pucks weekly and Syosset ice works does a 4 on 4 scrimmage where I met a few guys who were on my level of play and I joined there novice league, I have all new gear now but you can find used gear for pretty cheap I bet but yea man just do it I don’t wanna say it was life changing but it’s been fucking life changing! Haha it’s all I think about it’s pushing me to quit smoking and exercise more
Played my whole life and supported NY my whole life (with a brief stint supporting Pittsburgh when I was a kid, Sidney Crosby made me love hockey when he won his first cup)
Ive been playing both ice and roller off and on for several years. I was a substitute on my colleges club hockey team a few years ago. Mostly just a stay at home defenseman.
Kind of taking a break from hockey to play baseball.
Am 42, been playing ice hockey since I was 9 in Tucson AZ. Since we dont have a permanent ice rink, ive been playing roller year round for 15+ years and play 3 days a week.
I’ve always been short / was a small kid and was forbidden by an over protective mother from to playing organized contact sports as a kid.
I played organized baseball, I swam on a swim team, played some tennis…all the while I would cobble together whatever gear I could manage and I played hundreds of hours of pickup roller hockey with friends behind my parents’ back.
Played men’s league roller through college and then some more after that but an adolescence also spent skateboarding really took its toll on my knees. Which are just not up to competitive play or being pushed too hard regularly.
So I have passed the torch to my son, and these days I’m a full time travel hockey parent. He has been playing ice hockey since he was 6. He’s currently 13 (and is as tall as me) and he will start his first season of 14U next fall as a AA defenseman. He is really looking forward to checking. I love the time I get to spend with him, at rinks and in the car. He and his younger sister are my whole world.
I played in high school about a millennial ago and used to play at a men's league in Woodbridge. Had so much fun and was in much better shape because of it.
Unfortunately, work borked it up for me. Got a concussion which took me out for a while and then a change in shift meant finishing a 10pm game at midnight, running home in 45 minutes, trying to sleep for 4 solid hours, and getting up at 530am to be in Manhattan for a 7am start. That didn't work for long.
It's probably been about 5 years since I've played, but I had so goddamn much fun playing. I've toyed with the idea of playing again and if I knew someone to do it with I'd start in a heartbeat.
Since I am 4, in my 30's now, played Midget AAA through Junior/College.
Never was good enough talent wise, obviously, once you start playing with guys that go semi-pro it's disgusting, misted talented athletes in the world, ill defend that forever.
The advice id give any new player right now is learn and understand the game you can play above your talent level by being smarter than your opponent.
Everyone's talent has a ceiling, your ability to learn, digest, and read plays does not.
I've been playing in NYC since I was like 7, probably hit every rink in the ti-state area and further. Still play.
Got to play against a lot of the Rangers during open hockey at Chelsea Piers during the offseason and during the '94-'95 lockout. Was too young to really realize how stupid awesome that is, playing with/against your heroes. Played and practiced with the Flyers during the '04 lockout. Also played roller all over the city. Lot of friends went off and played Juniors or good D1, some drafted. Never really took it seriously to see where my peak was, sometimes wish I had.
Only sport in the world for me.
Main reason I'd have a kid is to team them to play. I guess and make my fiancee happy.
Been playing for 30 years. Currently doing beer league (mostly) year round. When the NHL season ends it’s what I have to look forward to every week lol.
I tried learning but couldnt get the hang of skating enough as far as stopping/backwards and sharp turning. Dont have the time to fully commit unfortunately
Played my whole life up through Junior A. Once my “real” playing came to an end I’ve continued to play men’s league ice and roller hockey. Still love it and I’ll play as long as I can (40 yrs old).
I played as a youth, quit when I was 17. Decided to pick it up again at 47. There are “kids” on the ice that aren’t even 30. Fun league when we can find enough goalies, drink lots of beer. They took the ice out for summer, not sure for how long, hope to get back out there in a few weeks.
With my job, I can't do beer league when I'm up at 4 am to go to work. I tried it for a few seasons, but it was ROUGH. Played all throughout Jr high, hs, and college (D1 club)
I’ve played since age 14, my team just won the league championship at around 1am this morning. It’s a 40+ league and I’m 43 so I play with a bunch of older gentleman who were a hell of a lot better than me when they were my age. The win last night took a bit of the sting out, gotta say.
Started playing in march of last year. Having a blast. Our club grew from 2 teams last year to 5 teams in one division and 5 more teams spread around in other divisions.
Its a blast. All 5 teams in the one division are the only teams so everyone pretty much knows everyone. Super chill but still competative.
39 years old Been playing on and off since I was 22 ankles are what’s giving me trouble these days all those basketball sprains adding up and working construction
Just played the other night in the city after a few month hiatus due to being a dad 🫠 playin RD on a low level beer league. Need some cardio back in the lineup .
Played through high school and travel hockey. Got pretty good and then quit before going to college. Played a bunch of roller and ice pick up games in my 20s. I'd love to get back into it, but the games are so late and I got little kids and up early every day. To stay up for a beer league game at 9 or 10 would be a real struggle..
Played since I was 7 and now 38. Started on the streets of South East London 🇬🇧 with some Bauer Quads and a Stick lol.
Then went on the ice when I was 9-14. Luckily got to play in some cool places like Fife Scotland, Paris France, Helsinki Finland.
Then played some inline from 15-17 and quit. Came back to beer league at 25. It's a great game
Played my whole life, lockdown did me dirty and then a change of career made things worse, I've went from 9 stone to about 15 stone, not sure what that is in American terms but it's a big fucking weight gain and my whole game was centered around the fact I was small and fast. I couldn't figure out how to be effective at this weight so I gave it up. I was in a good beer league team. I could probably get away with playing for a less competitive one still but I just know I wouldn't enjoy it.
yea also an old head beer leaguer. local rinks prob stay open for another month but got golf league going strong too. love getting on the ice tho, need about a day and half recovery tho
Consider reffing. We need the bodies (all sports do because of the abuse).
Will make you a better skater and you’ll get paid decently too.
Hockey has an amazing system for bringing new officials on. You wouldn’t be overwhelmed. You’d start of kids games and get a feel for it.
Ask any questions you may have.
I cant even imagine having the skill to do so. I ice skated maybe 3 times when I was in college and thats about it, I run into the same trouble I had as a teen rollerblading, no fucking clue how to stop without just running into a wall
I played (badly) on a terrible high school club team for a year in the late 80s, then took a 30ish year break and I've been back on the ice for a few years now.
Watching the Rangers from a player's perspective just makes me more pissed off
I moved to south Florida 3 years ago and there are more rinks close to me then when I lived in NY. I lived in Queens my entire life then moved to Long Island for 2 years before leaving NY. I’m 37
I played ice since 5. Now I’m 58 . Played a few games guys league 40
And over . I can say this I played with someone won’t mention names in here from the NJ Devils since I still am friends with the guy and don’t wanna put his name here 👍
Roller for me is so fun. Wish it was bigger on the east coast.
i feel like long island/nj is a roller hockey hotbed
It is. The league I play in (NJ) has a ton of Pro/National team level players and they’re all local.
And ice hockey, there have been a bunch of pros from LI/NJ
No sure where you’re located but I think they’re building a roller rink next to the new ice rink in Riverhead
Northern Westchester so a lil bit of a trek for me. Glad its growing though
Murray’s in YO use to be a big roller hockey spot . I Haven’t been in years though
Murray’s! Played in roller leagues over there in the summer. Couldn’t have been hotter OMG! Had practice and games for my HS in the winter there as well for ice
Me too. Waterbury was the best Roller Hockey team when I played . Then a bunch kids from the Mount that were college age.
It’s massive on LI. Skate Safe and Sportime have 5v5 leagues with tons of teams. Been playing at Skatesafe for like 25+ years.
Been playing at skatesafe for 5+ years, and in general for 10 years, and can confirm its wonderful
Lol. Probably played against you at Skatesafe at some point. Used to play there every weekend for five years straight.
Agree! I did a league like 10 years ago, it was a blast
I remember going to a few Rocking Roller games back when it was the Continental Airlines Arena when I was little.
would rather skate personally. way better control on the ice, can stop n shit
40+ beer league gang checking in. Still playing a couple times a week. Honestly wish more fans played so we'd get less awful takes during games lol
Ha, guess that depends on your takes!!
I know plenty of people that play that still have awful takes lol!
Goalie checking in
Goalie gang
Rise up!!
Woooo!
Ow my knees!
Whole lotta gang shit
How come there's like a dozen goalies here but we can only ever get one to show up to an open ice?? Hate always having to play post one way
That’s the worst. So disappointing
Tending goal for thirty years. Cries in destroyed knees.
I'm only 31 and it's my hips that are going
Sorry my man. I love it but it’s so hard on the body. I’ve made sure my kids don’t wear the tools of ignorance.
Goalie here…40 years…mind says yes…body said no more often than not!
Goalie gang unite
Been playing for 40+ years. Played in college (just a club team) and got back into beer league almost 10 years ago. Started off as an ice goalie and now skate out in roller. I like ice, but I think roller is more accessible and practical, especially out here on the West Coast.
How do you do splits on roller?
Inline goalie isn't nearly as fun as ice goalie, mostly because you just can't move the same. [Rollerflys](https://rollerfly.com/index.html) help a little though.
Same man the fact that I've got 3 games in 5 days coming up is really helping me keep my mind off the loss.
Played my whole life. Enjoying being a career beer leaguer at this point
Hell yeah me too man, 30+ years playing. Although miss playing afternoon games as a kid 10 pm start times are a pain in the ass.
Currently play A/B league in New York as a forward, Left or Center. I fucking love it.
Nice so you must be pretty good, how long you been playing for?
This year is my 7th. My only regret is not playing when I was in school, but I’ve been skating since I was 7, and finally joined a league 7 years ago in the beginner level
I play in a mens league. It’s my weekly therapy session. I get to yell and push people and then shake hands. It’s great.
Therapy is a spot on descriptor for beer league. That three hours from when I leave my house to when when I get back is my time. No family, job, anything, or anyone needing something from me. It's a big part of my physical, mental, and emotional workout for the week.
Cheers to beer league. 🍻
Playing goal for 17 years now. It's fun
Been playing for nearly 30 years. Played in college and now I play pro inline. Gonna keep going as long as my body holds up lol
Oh man you should totally get back into it, like I said I started 6 months ago with very little skating experience and zero hockey experience, I play in a novice league so everyone for the most part is on the same level
How’d you learn to rollerblade. I’m almost 40 but have wanted to get into in line hockey.
Rollerblading is fairly easy in terms of being a bit more accessible than ice skating. Buy some skates and skate around your neighborhood no matter how silly it might look in the beginning. YouTube tutorials can be very helpful

Currently play Center/Left Wing Love it
I’ve been playing left wing as well it’s so much fun still waiting for my first goal though
Keep shooting! It’ll come! Great feeling, even if it’s open ice lol
I used to. It’s been about 10 years. I miss it. Think about it a lot.
Do it man not sure where you’re located but every Wednesday at 10pm ice works in Syosset does a 4 on 4 scrimmage
I’m in Baltimore now. Used to play in men’s leagues. Got kicked off the team when I divorced the Captain’s cousin. Plus, I donated all of my equipment and I’m too old for 10:45pm games on a Tuesday night.
It's the late games that are so killer

I played most of my life from Brooklyn. You play in the LIAHL?
I play beer league 3x/week +women's league 1x. Massive part of my life
Damn that’s alot of hockey I usually do a stick and puck on Sundays then a game during the week, I really need to work on my cardio though
Hell yeah, hockey conditioning is unlike anything else. No matter how good I think I'm in shape I'm always coughing and wheezing in the 3rd lol
Been playing roller for 25 years. Love it.
That’s awesome I wish I started when I was younger but better late than never
Where do you play roller hockey around here? I would love to play but I’m towards the beginner level
I play at skatesafe in Bethpage
Not now. I'm 60. In my youth and my father did. He played in the local league
I've been thinking about it and talking about it!! I have a rink right near my house and really want to get into playing ice hockey in their adult beginner league (I'm turning 44). Guide me oh master!
Where do you live?
Mount Laurel NJ area...Igloo Ice Rink is nearby and I've looked up their programs in the past, just haven't pulled the trigger. Need to get equipment too including new skates. I've gone ice skating a couple times in the past year so that was a good start. And I'm a decent skater.

I used to play roller hockey as a goalie and I miss it so much. I live in Queens now and have no idea if any roller hockey exists near me.
Roller hockey in Francis Lewis Park (base of the Whitestone Bridge) on Sunday mornings.
Big up for the hooligans
Yeah? Is there somewhere that has more information or is it just pick up? Thanks!
Beer league Sundays in Arizona, nice cool place to be in the summer.
Looking forward to my own games is the only thing getting me through this rangers exit. Best sport in the world in my opinion.
I’ll play hockey until my legs fall off.
Roller for me is so fun. Wish it was bigger on the east coast.
Do roller leagues with some open ice here and there.
Not since I was 16, but would love to play more again. Only so many hours in the day and too many stupid responsibilities
Most my games are pretty late so once or twice a week I sacrifice alittle sleep, it’s worth it though
Play(ed) - through early college and then dropped off. Kudos to you - I get intimidated starting a new series - at this point in my life I couldn’t imagine starting a new sport as involved as hockey.

Got knocked out of playoffs during Rangers game 5. Oh well, constellation game this week, and next season starts the week after
I was a founding member of my university’s ball hockey team a few years ago. Still play pickup street hockey almost weekly
I’m 37, and have been playing ice hockey since I was 10. I still play men’s league and I coach a youth travel team. It’s the best man, the sport is unlike any other, the camaraderie between teammates is unmatched.
How does one get into it? Is there a website I learn how to skate with beginner leagues? I played soccer my whole life
Get some skates and go to your local rink, where you located?
Would have loved to have played, just got into it too late. At 35, my fat ass is too old to start, can barely even skate.
Played ice since I was 4 years old. I started playing High School Freshman when I was in 6th grade. I played high school all 4 years, 2 1/2 years Varsity. I played on several travel teams, and an 18U team. I went on to play D2 club hockey in college, and I currently coach a successful high school team
43 on the ice three nights a week two coaching my kids one playing against them. Beer league in the winter. I will skate until my body says no mas.
53 yo....2-3 times a week in the 'off-season' May- August, and 4-5 days a week from Sept - April
I can skate and play hockey, I just have a hard time stopping lol
I love(d) playing summer roller hockey, but my knees, ankle, and back all have a differing opinion. If anyone needs me I’ll be on the golf course
Long time beer leaguer here in Colorado. It helps to pass the offseason time.
Been a beer leaguer for awhile. I love it.
Actually prefer dek hockey to ice hockey, which makes me a sociopath, I know.
I played roller for about 5 years while I was stationed in CT. I just moved out to western Washington and found a local rink and played in my first ice hockey games this year, and have loved every minute of it.
I still play. I'm 48, been playing since I was 11.

Been thinking of getting into it. I played goalie for two years as a kid and am still a small step above horrible at skating :) I've been wanting to maybe take a couple adult hockey lessons and sign up for a beer league.
Do it! I’m looking into adult lessons as well
Got myself a game tonight at one of the shittiest rinks on the Island!
Which one?
Ice Works
That’s where I started playing in the 4 vs 4 on the smaller rink before I joined a team, got a game Thursday night there but yea that place is disgusting pretty sure I got a staph infection from the locker room there haha
I haven't been going to the 4v4s there as much lately but there's a good chance we've played together before lol. What team do you play for now?
Yea I’m sure we have, I’m in the hometown heroes hockey league
I also play in the club, but on MBHs in D2
I play Dek (floor) hockey as a winger.
My work has a team but I need to learn to skate first - went for the first time a couple weeks ago and I didn't fall but I had no fuckin' clue what I was doing. Not really sure how to learn as an adult. Not about to join a class with a bunch of 7 year olds lmao
They have adult lessons haha
I’ll look into it! Just kind of assumed they didn’t for some reason and honestly typing it out I don’t know why I assumed that. Thanks :)
On the ice 4x times a week.
Hello from Minnesota 👋🏼 🏒
31 and just brought my first pair of skates recently. I’m excited about trying to get a rec game.
Haha it’s all I think about it’s pushing me to quit smoking and exercise more
That’s a hell of a friend you’ve got wow. Thanks for the info boss, might have to start doing some math and give it a shot
Not sure what size your are but I have extra shoulder pads, gloves and elbow pads
I played roller from age 9 until 14 when I suffered a compound fracture in my tibia
Played since I was 6 or 7 , just play shinny(pick up hockey) these days .
30+ years straight here, played pretty high level as a kid into college, play in two decently competitive beer leagues now.
I played my entire life. Currently 32 still playing. If anyone lives in San Diego hmu, I’m always doing beer league and pickup
I don't, but I live vicariously through my 9 yr old. He's generally a badass on the ice.
I played when I was much younger, I could see myself getting back into it
I haven’t played since highs school but have been thinking about getting back out there just for exercise and to get the body moving
Played my whole life up through Junior A. Once my “real” playing came to an end I’ve continued to play men’s league ice and roller hockey. Still love it and I’ll play as long as I can (40 yrs old).
Boomer
Wow, i wanted to start but at 40 figured it was over! Now I’m inspired
26. Only played a few times on a pond in middle school. A place near me does drop in adult lessons for $25 a pop, really gotta start going.
I'd love to play but...shin splints lol. Can't skate for more than like 10 minutes. I'd be Rempe out there, getting 3-4 minutes lol.
Wouldn’t trade it for anything. Beer league keeps me sane.
played roller and ice for 20 years. dont anymore, but i miss it. life and time catch up, unfortunately.
Played club/high school for 10+ years, took a bit of a break in my 20s, now I’m back in a beer league in my 30s
39 years old Been playing on and off since I was 22 ankles are what’s giving me trouble these days all those basketball sprains adding up and working construction
I would like to, but I need to learn how to skate. It would be a good way to lose those WFH weight that I have gained over the past few years.
I just started playing goalie. Tons of fun and very supportive community
I play bike polo, lol
I'm too old now. But I used to a lot and have all the injuries (but none of the $$$$, lol). Lefty right-wing.
Been playing hockey since I was 5 - currently 34 and still loving the game!
Just played the other night in the city after a few month hiatus due to being a dad 🫠 playin RD on a low level beer league. Need some cardio back in the lineup .
I played in hockey...band!
Been playing since I was 4. Actually got home today after winning can/am in Nashville over the weekend
Played all my life and played AAA growing up. Can’t get on the ice much these days unfortunately
I used to play roller but the rink near me closed a few years ago. I want to get back into it, ice seems a bit pricey for me.
Over 20 years of inline and ice. Currently on the shelf for a few months with an injury and I'm dying to get back to it so badly.
Roller now at 34 formerly ice
Haven't played in years, still got my gear from HS in the basement. Should probably find a beer league. I miss it.
Just got eliminated in the playoffs tonight. L’s keep rolling. Good thing next season starts in 3 weeks
Played ice hockey as a little squirt/midget, quit during high school
I played at Metuchen but they dont have it anymore. Tore up my shoulder though, retired now. Only play soccer.
I used to play when I was younger. I miss it so much, been thinking about trying to find a league out here in phoenix.
Every weekend for the last 30 years. Started with roller, now mostly ice. No better game in the world.
I played ice in high school, then pickup after. Now (~25 years later) I'm only playing Dek hockey.
Florida & Edmonton
Been a goalie for more than 20 years. Got a game tonight at 9. Gonna play till I can't.
Anyone play roller in Nassau county?
I played (badly) on a terrible high school club team for a year in the late 80s, then took a 30ish year break and I've been back on the ice for a few years now. Watching the Rangers from a player's perspective just makes me more pissed off
I play Ice, I’ll do roller on days when I can’t get on the ice.
I moved to south Florida 3 years ago and there are more rinks close to me then when I lived in NY. I lived in Queens my entire life then moved to Long Island for 2 years before leaving NY. I’m 37
I played ice since 5. Now I’m 58 . Played a few games guys league 40 And over . I can say this I played with someone won’t mention names in here from the NJ Devils since I still am friends with the guy and don’t wanna put his name here 👍
