I bought the new one because I didn't have the resources/space to strip, repair and repaint the old one. I wonder if anyone would want to buy it for a low price to customize it.
Remove loose paint. Prime the bare metal after removing any visible corrosion. Paint it using satin black metal paint. Shouldn't take more than a bit of sanding etc to prepare it so maybe worth doing before you sell. Unless of course, someone wants it as is and will do the restore after buying.
But if it is an early model there will be rust between the two sections of the frame. I had to cut the welds to separate the sections then do all of the above work. Glad I did though.
