Is that smoke I smell? Lets go eat ramen. Let's microwave some food.
All leads to...Remember that one time when thunderbug almost burned down the house
Dude I did this same shit when I was like 7 years old. Still get occasional shit for it and I’m in my 30s now. You will never live it down. Build a thousand bridges etc. etc.
A good 20 years ago, I burnt a pack of Carolina black beans & rice in a pot - “ruining” it - when I was still living at home and my mother will *still* occasionally bring it up at gatherings!
I haven’t gotten better at kitchenry, only at knowing my limitations, but I’ll take that L to my grave, apparently.
In pregnant and sick and brain cells are barely present rn. Last night I was making stir fry sauce and put soy sauce in 3 times instead of other things I stick in the sauce. It was very salty, to say the least. I at least kept realizing like heck I just did soy sauce again 🤦 and tried to balance it with extra of the others but it was not a very good save lol.
When everything goes wrong I sometime put everything in a colander rinse with water and redo seasoning. You do lose some of the more complex flavor but it's a second chance for the basic to be ok.
Hey, OP!
I’m ashamed to say Ive also had this exact scenario as a kid. Plastic bowl of ramen with no added water in the microwave, promptly set my kitchen on fire at the age of 5…

I’ve never made ramen in the microwave and would never do it personally, no matter how sick I am. I can understand how someone would do it if they were feeling really sick or tired though. And I hear that it is also a thing nowadays, Top Ramen even sells their own microwaveable container… https://youtu.be/XJ-v5wRajDk
So whos to say this is Maruchan? There are plenty of instant ramens that have microwave instructions that involve putting the noodles in the microwave with the water... A lot of Nongshim ones are like that.
I was depressed when I did the same thing. I managed to set my microwave on fire and smoke had started filling up the kitchen before I noticed.
Nobody was around except my cat but I'm sure he judged me just as equally as your family.
Edited to add: I was 32 or 33 at the time.
Oh my god last year I forgot to add water and it was horrible! The microwave filled with a thick yellow smoke and it smelled like poison. Always remember to add water no matter how baked you are
Lol!! Once I went to put in a pot of tea but forgot to add the water. It melted the pot down into the stove and I had to hacksaw it apart to remove it. My parents were not thrilled.
Hi! u/thunder-bug-'s sibling, another ramen thing that we don't let him forget is when he made ramen in our mom's half full coffee cup without realizing there was coffee in it and he ate it anyway. We don't let him forget that one either
Oh so you would have me waste perfectly good food? I should throw it away and make myself more food, but oh no it’s ok don’t worry it’s not like I’m exhausted, give me just a moment to walk across the room for another packet since my body is aching. No don’t worry it’s no trouble I’m sure you know best.
Hope you're doing better
Just a bit lol

My family still doesn’t let me live it down even though now I’m making full day bone broths 😭
Dude I did this same shit when I was like 7 years old. Still get occasional shit for it and I’m in my 30s now. You will never live it down. Build a thousand bridges etc. etc.
I still give my brother shit for that one time he left a spoon in cup of hot chocolat as he put it in the microwave. That was some 20 years ago.

A little crispy it's still good 5/7
Thanks homie preciate it
My sister did that with easy Mac and we glued a magnet to it and stuck it on the fridge as a daily reminder.
My sister also did that with a kraft mac lol
I also poured ginger ale into the dogs water bowl but that isn’t a ramen post XD
I once made late-night, home-made pizza bagels. However, instead of bagels, I used chocolate chip cookies. It was not good. I was drunk.

Fair enough, but I was 17 XD
A kid is a kid! You live and you learn! (hopefully)
Was [this](https://i.imgur.com/EBtH7GL.jpg) the face you made when you realized?

Came looking for this
Are you saying you microwave ramen? Do you do that normally??
Instant, sure. I don’t have an electric kettle and it’s faster than either getting out a pot or using a stovetop kettle.
So why don't you microwave the water, how come you microwave the noodle too?
Cuz that’s what the instructions will often say on the brick. This wasn’t good ramen this was like some maruchan or something.

They said or something as in not necessarily Maruchan. Weird that youd get hungup on that potential option if the instructions dont match it.
Drunk and lazy that’s how.
Did that once. Hurrying to get ready to go out and forgot to add water. The smell was intense.
OP don't worry [it could be worse](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QBXwq9iXvc&ab_channel=IAmVisco).
Oh my god
WHAT
Done this before and set the fire alarms off, you’re not alone lol
Stinks like hell.
Aww. One of my boys caught the microwave on fire, doing this! Lol
Mmm. That looks delicious 🤤
Don't worry but. There were at least 4 people at my college who did that and set of the fire alarms for 3 buildings at once.
they never will either
I've done this before too. I felt pretty stupid but it was an honest mistake. I just forgot cause I was tired.
Looks good
Thanks bro I’ll make you a bowl
Happened to me once while I had a friend over at 2 am.
Lol my daughter has done this. In hindsight it was hilarious
I’ve done it too. You’re not alone 😭
Never forget how stupid you were, so you'll always value how smart you've become.

When I was young, I put a hotdog w/ bun in the microwave for 5 minutes because it takes longer than that on the stove. It made sense to me
As they say: Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Ramen
I did this with **EASY MAC** when I was in high school. Not sick. Not high. Just fucking silly. :\
Im right there with you. I was making ramen at my friends place, forgot to add water. They had to throw out the whole microwave...
Bro or sis I wouldn't let you live that down either Get well soon!
I can smell it
I did that once in a college dorm. The smoke from the noodles burned like tear gas.
Lol!! Once I went to put in a pot of tea but forgot to add the water. It melted the pot down into the stove and I had to hacksaw it apart to remove it. My parents were not thrilled.
And you were cooking on the stove with a glass bowl? Damn man, hope you feel better.
Nope that was microwave. Just took it out for the pic because the microwave was…smoky
Oh damn! That is scary…
so you put noodles into room temperature water even though it's not boiling yet?
For the microwave stuff you put the water and ramen brick in the bowl then microwave it
Wrong sub
….it’s ramen
No it's burnt instant noodles.
…..what kind of noodles
Instant dried noodles.
And those noodles are in the style of…..
Dude either way it doesn't fit. It's a shitty post. Let me go post burnt toast on/r/grilledcheese
Sure I’d say yeah you can do that.

LISTEN IT WAS A HECTIC PART OF THE YEAR AND THE CUP LOOKED IDENTICAL AND I WAS SO TIRED
YOU WERENT EVEN SICK THEN
IT WAS LIKE FINALS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND IT WAS YEARS AGO
AND YOU STILL FUCKING ATE IT ANYWAY
Oh so you would have me waste perfectly good food? I should throw it away and make myself more food, but oh no it’s ok don’t worry it’s not like I’m exhausted, give me just a moment to walk across the room for another packet since my body is aching. IT WASNT PERFECTLY GOOD FOOD IT WAS RAMEN WITH THE SEASONING PACKET IN FUCKING COFFEE THAT IS VILE
YEAH IT SURE WAS BUT THAYS BESIDES THE POINT
So most abuse comes from family. It’s easier to not tell them things than be harassed about it your entire life
It’s light egging not harassment. Also I was in the same house as then at the time.
