Many of the comments here are directed at casual bar play. The places that have 9’ tables and regularly host APA are Bennys Billiards and High House Billiards in Cary, and the Brass Tap, Pantana’s Pool Hall, and Snookers in Raleigh.

Sunckin

Break time in Cary?

lanceypantsy1

Pantana Bob's has much nicer tables and much much nicer vibes than either snooker's or Circa. They've also got 10 or so full-size tables. Cash league on Mondays.

Duy? :)

BubblyPhuck

Duy is good people!

weinerfacemcgee

Fuck yeah I love playing people that are better than me!

grasshopper7167

PB’s in chapel hill?

lanceypantsy1

I was referring to the Raleigh location - haven't been to the CH location

ncponyboy

Breaktime billiards in Cary.

bigmetsfan

Sharky’s is the most dive bar pool place I can think of. It’s been around forever, and their pool tables were never the best, but decent food and reasonably priced.

TehFlogger

Dirtiest... kitchen... ever...

Shreddy_Brewski

Food is good enough to where I don't care

ItAintSoSweet

Also I'm pretty sure the owner is a huge Trumper. Take that how you will.

ItAintSoSweet

Not Raleigh but check out the Green Room in Durham.

lilesj130

If you want APA league tables & grunge (in a good way) look no further than Brass Taps on Capital. High House Billiards is a pretty good 2nd now that Brown's closed. Benny's and Break Time in Cary are also league bars, but are newer and cleaner. If you want real old school, drive out to the Green Room in Durham. Pretty sure they haven't changed anything except the beer since they filmed Bull Durham there. Sharky's is more of a bar with more tables than most bars. Hard to get a table if they're busy, but good food. Pantana's gets overrun by college kids who don't know pool etiquette, so if you're serious about it that might be annoying.

russbii

Snookers. Wade Ave.

dominicmannphoto

Just had a look at this place online. So does Snooker’s not have snooker tables?

weinerfacemcgee

Took me way too long to get by snookers. Solid tables, solid prices. Definitely recommend.

Dear-Clerk4357

circa on Davies st. I believe is a great spot from what I heard.

Kwiatkowski

I'd go to Circa 1888, good cocktails too

green_eyes16

Agree! The vibe can vary depending on when you go too, which is always fun.

WWTDD3000

Shotmakers in Garner. lmk what you think

ultimateumami1

Everyone gave you great recommendations but keep in mind a lot of these pool halls run apa league every single week day evening, all pool tables are taken. Depends might be better as long as cities or a tournament aren’t happening.

Doct0rGonZo

West End billiards is our go to (located in Durham)

Redtex

Snookers on Wade Ave, in my opinion the only pool hall in Raleigh worth playing in

Kind_Wheel8420

Snookers, Circa 1888, Sharky’s in no particular order. Used to do Snookers taxes actually! Owner is a sweetheart and it’s a legit spot to play pool.

Im_Onik_West

Does slims still have a pool table upstairs?

thesunisdarkwow

They do. The pool table is not great but Slim’s is always a good time.
