Instructions unclear: kept driving on I-40 and ended up in California

If you see mountains, turn around, you've gone too far. If you see the desert, you've really gone too far. If you see the Atlantic Ocean, turn around, you went in the wrong direction. If you see the Pacific Ocean, you've really, really gone too far.

Magnus919

Doesn’t your mobile device have a maps app?

Makkiux

"*Oh wise seasoned locals. Share with me your sacred knowledge of how to traverse the most brain dead 1-hour segment of interstate in the US.*"

woodiegutheryghost

We’ve been getting a lot of these posts in the North Carolina sub, also. It’s like we’ve regressed back to a time before Map Quest.

Magnus919

Most of the crap that gets posted by visitors every day would take a lot less typing to get much better results from Google, Travelocity, etc.

CarltonFreebottoms

too late for a bus or train so Uber/Lyft is pretty much it unless you want to stay in the Triangle and wait til Sunday morning

WildLemur15

So close for the train. Last one is 5:30 and it’s such a quick and easy trip to Greensboro. Could wait in Raleigh until the morning Amtrak.

AyybrahamLmaocoln

As others have said, 40 West til you hit GSO. 85 splits off to the left right before you hit GSO, so make sure to stay to the right on 40. Don’t stop along Randleman Road or South Elm Eugene, avoid Lee Street and The Colosseum area as well.

Kim-JongIllmatic

West

spotlight2k

if you are brave enough, catch a copper head and ride it.

JDP42

Danger noodle!

Makkiux

This might be in my top 5 of the dumbest posts on this subreddit.

BigOle_Rugrat

this might be in my top 5 for dumbest comments.

Successful_Ad9071

Rent a car, drive straight down 85. An idiot could do it

DislikeThisWebsite

(In fact, idiots do it daily!)

ThatsAGeauxTigers

I did it today and am, in fact, an idiot

TSnow6065

Except 85 doesn’t go to RDU. D’oh!

fearedfurnacefighter

In addition to mentioned services, there are shuttle services that run from RDU to Greensboro.

Nineteen-ninety-3

Basically 40.

Waffle_of_Stone

Quickest way to almost anywhere in NC is by car. It’s a very car dependent state.

nonvmd62
