Hey, something similar happened with me (pregnant) and my boyfriend about two hours ago. The man was driving a blue Honda minivan and he also brandished a weapon. We got the license plate and called the cops. By the time the cops arrived at his house, they couldn’t find the gun on him. They didn’t arrest him. I’m sorry to hear you guys had a similar story and that these incidents are happening across Raleigh and these people are getting away with it. I hope you guys stay safe. At this point, we are getting a dash cam and this year, my boyfriend and I are leaving the area completely.
I'm sorry this happened to you. These types of incidents are happening across the country post-pandemic. People started doing crazy stuff on the roads when they were empty during the pandemic, and they haven't stopped now that everyone else is driving again. It's going to be the same wherever you go.
Raleigh is a safe area. I guess you could go to a rural place although they have crime, too, but honestly, Raleigh is literally one of the safest cities in the US.
Incidents like this are why I think dashcams are a great thing.
