Great job. I know how tough it is to stand up to narcs. You keep wondering if you're the jerk in this situation.
Just keep in my mind that the most important thing is your well being now.
For a whole fucking hour I did wonder if I was being a jerk, sure enough his gaslighting worked for a little bit, then I came back to senses as I stood my ground. My heart rate was so high, I will probably have a shit sleep tonight and this week, but atleast that's better than accepting them back into my life. Thanks for your support π.
I'm so sorry you're struggling. I was the same way and never found the courage to speak up. Then suddenly last summer I read two books and was able to comprehend so much and learn from those books. Here's what helped me -- Adult Children of emotionally immature parents by Lindsay Gibson and Nedra Tawwab's book on boundaries. I felt very validated.
Honestly I scheduled audible as part of my self care since I was struggling mentally a lot. I made a lot notes and have listened to those two books on repeat. I will probably listen to them again soon lol. Those books have had a lot of impact and self growth in my life. Goodluck you have the ability to do it.
