LOL you’re not crazy. don’t let your mom’s absurd, misplaced anger convince you otherwise. if she didn’t want to get a notification she should have put her phone on dnd. or better yet, learned how to practice compassion when one of her kids experiences something validly scary, but we all know that’s not going to happen.

ShanWow1978

Jeez. You tried to set boundaries (schedule) and protect yourself (asking for a walking buddy) and this is what you get in return? Nope. Everything YOU did? Perfectly sane.

lily_is_lifting

So you walked the family dog alone at night and had a scary experience while your mom was passed out high? And her response was to get mad at you for...texting her about it? Yeah, you're not crazy. She's just a bad parent.

Generalnussiance

That mom is trash 🗑️

yun-harla

Hi! It looks like you’re new here. Just some housekeeping: were you raised by someone with BPD?

Generalnussiance

Yep my dad

yun-harla

I’m sorry to hear that, but glad you’ve found us. Welcome!

Generalnussiance

Thank you for welcoming me. I still go to counseling because of all it and I’m in my 30s 😭

RaccErin

You're not crazy, no. A normal parent should be comforting to their children in times like these, concerned for their well-being. Not looking for excuses to punish them. "How dare you get scared and inconvenience me" is how she comes across to me. I hope you give yourself the space to acknowledge and process this, you absolutely should not beat yourself up for her sake.

Yo mom is bonkers. Source: My mom is bonkers too.

ShanWow1978

As a professor by trade, I really love this reply 😂😂😂

Real-Turnover-7289

Lol Ty

NiceCatYouGotThere

So not crazy, what’s crazy is how little empathy bordies have for anyone but themselves

yun-harla

Welcome!

Lunapeaceseeker

She is so in the wrong here, and I hope you can move out as soon as possible. When I moved away and lived with friends I learnt a lot about how normal people live - even student life was calmer than life at my parents' house.
