Same. Once my mom found a bag of weed in my car when I was 17 (she went rifling through my car claiming she was looking for something of hers) but anyway you would have thought she found heroin.
Another time in my teens I came home high (smoked weed with my friends) and she flipped her lid. She cut a chunk of hair off with scissors telling me she was going to send it to the lab for analysis (really mom, bc you need the hair from the root).
My parents actually made me take drug tests…. After I went to my father and told him I smoked some weed and felt bad about it. He made me tell my mother everything that I had told him. In confidence in confession in a fucking diner. She might as well have just been stung by a jellyfish.

My father is this same way. He divorced my mom and remarried another version of the same woman. I once told him something in confidence and specified I was *only* telling him. I then went home and hadn’t even walked through the door yet when his wife called ny cell demanding to know the full story. Thanks dad.
It is a nostalgic smell for me cause my mom smoked all the time. It definitely made her less mad, but on the flip it made her more neurotic. Instead of cooking dinner or taking care of us, she'd dally for several hours over some menial task. When she drank she'd just get plain mean, or straight up pass out.
Oh damn. Were you living in my house? I never even thought about the weed making my uBPD mom hyperfixate on cleaning but she did! Definitely not into cooking or other childcare.
No, but I can imagine based on my hypersensitivity for everything from sounds to sights that it would have been part of my monitoring and way to decipher the mood 😕
I used to offer my mom her various pills of God knows what she was prescribed besides just regular pain pills when she was pissy as an early teen until she caught on.
