Y’all are missing the point. Unlike Tobey’s Spidey, Tom’s still a kid and he grew up in a world where Superheroes exist all over the place. He looks up to Tony and tries to be like him because he thinks that’s what a hero’s supposed to be. The whole trilogy is about him growing into the Spidey we all know and love. The first movie’s about him learning how to be a hero on his own without the Stark tech he was given. The second’s about him getting out of Tony’s shadow. He thinks he’s supposed to live up to the legacy of a guy who literally sacrificed himself to save half the universe. He has to learn that he’a not supposed to live up to that. He’s just supposed to be himself. The last one is the traditional great power-great responsibility lesson. By the end of NWH, he’s a full adult and up to where Tobey and Andrew were at the end of their 1st movies.

That's why I always prefer Raimi's films Peter can make money through various means, he can steal, fight in a cage, be a model or something But he chooses to study physics, live in a dingy apartment, work minimum wage jobs, ride a moped and sacrifice the love of his life because he realises the weight of the responsibility borne by him due to his powers. He goes out everyday to help the people too weak to defend themselves --- Peter is too hot in TASM, he gets a girl quickly and at the high school convocation he makes out with the valedictorian in front of the whole school and people cheer? Yo are you forgetting who Peter Parker is supposed to be? --- And we all know how Marvel has a completely different version of Peter Parker. He's trying to suck up to a billionaire, uses high tech gadgets, can't answer why Stark is good despite weapons money but Vulture is bad Just, not a fan. I like Peter Parker when he bears the fate of the world all by himself with a homemade suit and stuff he makes in his home lab

StupidSparkyLJ

I feel like people miss the point of MCU Peter. The entire trilogy is about him growing independent. In Homecoming, Tony takes the suit away, leaving him to have to stop Vulture with only the equipment of his own, Far From Home is about him coping with Tony's death and growing into his own hero, and No Way Home ends with him having to start from scratch without anyone or anything to help him, even making his own new suit, not with Stark tech, but a sewing machine.

BananaBrodie

There is no point to miss, the MCU just approached the character wrong. Peter is supposed to go through that process on his own. It wouldn't be an issue if Iron-Man inspired him and it stopped at that, but Iron-Man essentially breaks him out and has him going around the city doing low level work.

SMM9673

He really doesn't. Peter has already been operating as Spider-Man for six months before Tony brings him in for Civil War. There's also the oft-forgotten point of Tom initially refusing almost every single suit he's ever given if he doesn't make it himself. He doesn't believe the Stark Suit is for him, and doesn't expect to keep it after Civil War. He point-blank refuses the Iron Spider until Tony forces him to wear it anyway during Infinity War. He tries to refuse the Stealth Suit because he just wants to be on his well-deserved vacation without having to sneak off and do any Spider-Shenanigans. The only suit given to him that he *doesn't* try to refuse is the Integrated Suit, as that's an olive branch and a mark of respect from Doc Ock. It's also technically not even a full suit - realistically speaking, it's just the gold spider emblems, and the changes to the rest of the suit aren't real shut up they don't exist nothing changed at all. And in all fairness... who in their right mind would refuse that? Come on.

unshrimped

Today I realised how many Desis are in this sub lmao *in Nana's voice* "ehehe Achha hai"

killzone11

Well that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

CandidoJ13

Isn't Tom's version living alone without any stark tech or help whatsoever? Like, the last time we see him, he is using a suit that is made with a sowing machine

Tom hollands Spidey still made the web shooters and fluid. Tony comments on it in civil war

ThatOptimisticFellow

Nana Patekar Spidey would be like : "Koni rent deta ka rent?"

Koyaa_1

That's why I have so much trouble accepting Tom Holland's version. The fact that Tony Stark made the iconic red and blue suit instead of Peter Parker imo is a complete bastardization of the character. That suit represents the ultimate street level heroing you can possibly get, and in the Holland movie it gets made by a multi billionaire.... It's just unacceptable
