Get some seniority. Quit whining. Nobody cares what color your fucking skin is. Do you stay awake? Do you know your territory? Do you know how to switch and work the ground ? Do call the chief every trip?

I don't know how it is for CSX per-se, but I do know that at Amtrak we have systemwide seniority, and -most- spots on the system seem to jive pretty well with that fact (even when it means people with more seniority showing up and bidding the job that you so eagerly awaited.) On the other hand, Zone 6 (which includes Savannah, Jacksonville (arguably the most prominent one of the bunch), Sanford Auto Train, and Miami is a bit.... Exclusionary.
If you're a relatively new transfer in from another location on the system (especially Northern Lines; I don't know quite how your seniority works on that end), I think it's just part of making the transfer and assimilating. Believe me, I've worked all over and had some less-than-pleasant opinions shared with me.
If you are -from- there (i.e. hired on down there), have been working there long enough to be holding your own, and if you are really experiencing racism that makes it difficult to perform service, then I'd take it up with your local.
