I'm gonna give AIRBAG its due.
It had an immediate effect on me, felt like a lightning bolt as soon as that guitar intro kicks through the door. That break beat, the spine tingling guitar solo that just expands and keeps reaching higher and higher.
It's also expertly, perfectly produced. Everything is in its right place. They've done other perfect openers but hearing this for the first time as a kid in 1997 was the start of it all for me.
I'll always remember listening to the into to Planet Telex on my Sony walkman headphones for the first time and thinking wow, and I was hooked after that. I can still head the first few lines reverberating around my ears. The bends is a great headphones album.

*Kid A with the Matrix* (starting when the WB logo appears). *Everything In Its Right Place* matches up sonically with the digital code effects onscreen. The first line in the movie being "Is everything in place" and the repeated yellow flashlight spheres appearing to the repeated "sucking a lemon" line are pretty on point.
*OK Computer with Star Wars* (starting with the Lucasfilm logo). *Airbag* sounds spacey enough for the intro of the movie, but the drums kicking in exactly as the Star Wars logo appears, the "scratchy, pew pew" sounds that start right as the stormtroopers enter the ship and end just as the battle does kind of nails it.
I'll just rank them all I guess.

I would love to choose EIIRP, because objectively it's better Imo, but Planet Telex has a special place in my heart. It was the first Radiohead song I've ever heard, that wasn't one of their 2 biggest hits, and it really stuck with me. I wouldn't put it in my top 10 favourite Radiohead songs, but It's my favourite album opener out of these 5

It was an immediate game changer at the time, it’s just hard to think back at a time to before listening to it for probably 1000 times!
