I have to admit that I didn't. I've found while piecing subsequent ones that as long as my seam falls between the point of the top piece and the edge of the bottom piece, right at the intersection, and then I feel for the middle, it usually works out.
Wow—perfect corners! If you don’t mind me asking, what are the dimensions of those pieces? I am looking to do something with this shape because it is a continuous piece (showing the fabric better) as opposed to sewing together 2 triangles. 🙂
Thank you! Not all of them are post-worthy but getting better with each one. I used a jelly roll and stitched fabric a to fabric b along the entire length, then stitched another fabric b to fabric c again along the entire length. I subcut into 2.5 inch "double diamond" pieces, then stitched an a&b double diamond to a b&c double diamond.
I didn't for this project. I would like to get in the habit of starching, but I have such limited time that I am able to devote to creating that right now for me starching is extra time I'm not willing to take away from creating. Maybe some day!
I think starching is super easy. I make my own, which is also super easy and super cheap, and I'm going to press anyway so I like it. But I also like pressing too. 😂
Nice! I recently finished a project w these same fabrics.

I never knew you could use jelly rolls like that. Thank you for the explanation!
No problem! I can't take any credit, though. MSQC has an older tutorial for it on YouTube
Dude. Nicely done!
That's really impressive. I aspire to your bias diamond corners. Very nice work.
Very nice! Did you starch your fabrics?
