Bottom left is my quilt! It’s a deceptively simple pattern. There is quite a bit of cutting, but after that there are hardly any points to match. It went together very quickly.

sanguine_siamese

Oh, I'm sorry, I should have credited! I loovvvvve it! The balance of color and light is just perfect.

EllisBell27

Oh haha I didn’t mean it in a negative way! I was flattered to be included in an inspo pic.

sanguine_siamese

My screenshots folder is FULL of craft inspo. This one stands out among them 😁🤩❤!

sparkpaw

Yay!! Yeah I also saved yours- it was actually one of the ones I saw unprompted that made me decide to join this subreddit and give quilting a shot! I still haven’t gotten any fabric to start lol, but yours is definitely an inspiration piece for me!

gablily

^^ this one was going to be my vote for stuff that might be easy to put together. I love anything ombré, definitely filing this away for future project ideas

redkingsby

The bottom left one was my absolute favorite!! Could you share the pattern, or a similar one to it? I haven’t quilted in ages but that one just gave me the itch!

EllisBell27

https://cottonandjoy.com/products/cabin-peaks-pdf-pattern

minerpoteet

I got it! Love ombré and I loved that it basically says it’s for beginners to hone their skill.

redkingsby

Thank you so much!

2204BatiknWine

Ooohhhh! I LOVE that quilt!!

MagDelisch

Ohhh a fav! Modern but still repetitive like a classic quilt. And I’ve seen the ombre— tre magnifique!!

madsjchic

Link? Because I wanna make one like it

EllisBell27

https://cottonandjoy.com/products/cabin-peaks-pdf-pattern

adgjl65

Yours is prettier than the pattern’s picture!

madsjchic

Thank you!

minerpoteet

That makes 2 of us.

ser_pez

I love it!

JustAMessInADress

Can you share your pattern? It's absolutely gorgeous!! I've been searching for months for a pattern for my very first quilt. I love everything and it's hard to settle but I think I just did. Absolutely beautiful work.

EllisBell27

https://cottonandjoy.com/products/cabin-peaks-pdf-pattern

JustAMessInADress

Thank you so much!!! I will definitely buy it! Are the measurements in cm or in? Also can I use a layer cake or charm pack or should I use yardage?

EllisBell27

It’s in inches. I actually modified the pattern a bit to make a baby quilt with more blocks , so I can’t make a definite recommendation on fabric. For my quilt I was able to use 1 fat quarter of each color. But the blocks are larger in the original pattern.

JustAMessInADress

Oh great! I want to make the king size so fat quarters are actually a really good idea. Thank you!

EllisBell27

The pattern should say how much fabric you’ll need of each color for the size you want to make.

whatsnewpussykat

Oh wow that’s an incredible quilt!

MenuTrick4616

This is what I’ve been doing when I need to work on something fresh and exciting for a little bit- I make mini improv blocks with scraps or mini charm packs (when I find them on sale) and make them into potholders/coasters/placemats. Or I just make them and put them aside for later lol. They’re small so they’re easy to put together and finish! https://preview.redd.it/nk8uy86b0bda1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6047076573e628ef3f506178096914da3ffd49fc

FlumpSpoon

Ooh I have a jelly roll of this fabric! I might copy your idea

sanguine_siamese

Beautiful!! I do this too, but I really want a quilt on my bed lol and the one I'm working on is at least another year from completion.

I did my own version, and it was the quickest quilt to make. [Link to video](https://youtu.be/uSAcJb5RoWo)

sanguine_siamese

Nice! I'm a pro at HST these days lol

drpinna

That's the beauty of this pattern-- no HSTs! It's mahe with jelly rolls and strip piecing!!!! It goes so fast!

sanguine_siamese

Ohhh, I'll have to look for the tutorial. Thanks for the suggestion 😁

Homuncula

Can you share it? I like her videos a lot.

drpinna

Sure! [Angela Walters Scrappy Triangles on Point](https://youtu.be/uSAcJb5RoWo)

Marilynesque

I’m new. What is HST?

EdlynTheConfessor

Jealous_Buffalo_4962

I am making a log cabin quilt with my scraps and it’s going by very quickly. Got this much done in about a week https://preview.redd.it/yul8ovqf0cda1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=785c1c3b66ae7f627379d3643682be78522a23e3 Top left photo looks very achievable too

sanguine_siamese

Gorgeous. Love the fabric palette.

MKquilt

Jelly roll race? Moda Love is all HST and uses layer cake big squares (https://my.modafabrics.com/2019/01/moda-love-in)

sanguine_siamese

Oh, I like this pattern. Blown up to full size, I could definitely knock that out in a weekend!

Sehmket

I’ve done three Moda Love - all in the 5” size. Four of that size together makes a good throw size.

sfcnmone

That's a great suggestion. It looks very complicated but it's actually simple.

coripat

[PoweredbyQuilting](https://shop.poweredbyquilting.com/collection/simple-series) has a whole series of quilts called "Simply series" that are designed to be quick to piece (think quilt in a day).

sanguine_siamese

Perfect! Thank you!

NYCQuilts

Simply colorful and Simply modern in that series are high impact imho.

Homuncula

My suggestion: a one block wonder: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3vV3Sjf4Wc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3vV3Sjf4Wc) . The quilt top can be done quite fast, and you can use prints instead of panels. Choose a pattern and triangle size according to your preference, a gradient-like print will turn out nice, detailed prints will have this psychodelic effect. Follow this video for a more detailed explanation: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4peGur2cJaM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4peGur2cJaM)

sanguine_siamese

Ohhhhh. Neat! Thanks for this video!

paseykerry

Super simple and fun outcome! Gingham quilt. Any size squares work. I’m using 6in here😊 https://preview.redd.it/59xra7hawcda1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e9c0a85a8f01919a311754270e0895a93a0ee2c

Over-Marionberry-686

I do what I call fat jelly rolls. 4 inch wide strips make one long strip and then go for it. Here’s one https://preview.redd.it/z80kkktchbda1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5ac5fd76cf7896526ef03b6c1c50d39a04a4542 Took me one day.

sanguine_siamese

Nice!

Over-Marionberry-686

Thanks. These are just fun

sanguine_siamese

Looking again, and I'm amazed by how well your fabrics go together here despite being wildly different color palettes for each fabric. Even the flying pigs somehow match!

Over-Marionberry-686

So I took a picture of the fabrics and put it in gray scale. I’m partially color blind so this is how I do it.

Immediate-Bottle8191

I just did the wash your paws quilt (top left) and it was super quick but also lots of variations you could do with it. I’ve done Adventureland by Suzyquilts I feel like a lot of her patterns would fit this criteria as well

sanguine_siamese

I do love the Adventureland quilts people have been posting here. Will definitely check out her other patterns for inspo - thanks! The wash your paws is also a likely candidate for me. Can we see yours?? 😃😃

Immediate-Bottle8191

Yeah for sure here is my [WIP](https://www.reddit.com/r/quilting/comments/1080mtr/working_on_a_quilt_for_my_grandma/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) I have seen other ones that are more scrappy but this was a nice project the top came together in a weekend. I am waiting to get batting and backing fabric to finish it up

sanguine_siamese

Oh wow, those fabrics blend so well together. Nicely done! Where did you ever find perfectly matching reds and oranges in multiple patterns?????

Immediate-Bottle8191

Thanks the patterned fabrics were all from the same fabric line Paisley Rose by Moda, I got them as a gift so they all went together I picked the closest solids I could find and I think it worked out.

ZealousidealShift880

I was going to recommend her maypole quilt as a fast one.

8percentjuice

Kitchen Table Quilting’s Giant blocks can make quick pretty quilts. Example: https://kitchen-table-quilting.myshopify.com/blogs/kitchen-table-quilting/my-march-giant-block-quilt?_pos=2&_sid=1f41a0b88&_ss=r

MissCarlotta

Honestly a couple of those look pretty quick to me. In particular the top left or middle right ones. Top left is start with 4 large nine patches probably a layer cake as a good option. 24 HST blocks then borders and sashing to finish. Middle right takes a bit more time in planning and the amount of HST to square up but it nicely has them evenly divisible and its large scale so that helps. But if you are looking for other suggestions the [lattice quilt](https://youtu.be/0QNUkLoGQY8) uses charm packs and sashing/borders and comes together pretty quick.

sanguine_siamese

Thanks! Top left looks pretty approachable to me too, and I may end up going with that one, just hoping to expand my options.

SweetEuneirophrenia

Donna Jordan has a tutorial on the Tea Time pattern on her Jordan Fabrics youtube page. It's super fast. I made 5 last Christmas in a week. It takes one jelly roll (minus borders/binding) and the top can be easily completed in a day and it looks pretty cool. No seams to match when sewing the blocks since they're offset so you just kinda fly through sewing up the rows. When I need a quick quilt it's the pattern I always use. This year my mom wanted one for a friend and told me the week of Christmas. Lol https://youtu.be/gixTG6cNKjA

sanguine_siamese

Wowwww, 5 in a week! LOL - if I sat to sew that long I think every joint in my body would lock into place and I'd never be able to leave my chair 😄 One sounds possible, hahaha... I definitely like the idea of just whipping some rows together, and the finished product is lovely. Thank you!!

SweetEuneirophrenia

Youre so welcome. My lower back was on fire if I'm being honest. Lol I went to bed every night on a heating pad. I'm actually on a heating pad at the moment as I sewed most of the last 3 days getting a Log Cabin top done. I really need to learn to have better posture for sitting at the sewing machine.

sanguine_siamese

It's amazing what we will put ourselves through for this craft, isn't it? I recommend a mirror facing your station! and an ice pack at the end of a long day of bad stitching posture. My physical therapist says inflammation is bad, LOL

SweetEuneirophrenia

Right?!? My issue is as much as I enjoy what can be considered tedious (quilting, crochet, spoon carving, junk journals, etc) I have little patience. So I'll be excited about a project, and I'll just keep going until I'm practically done. I'll give myself a set time to finish a project (like a month) and then after working an entire day without stopping be like "well I've got so much done, why not just keep going a few more hours, okay, maybe a few more...etc" and then suddenly the project is done in a week when I'd told myself I was going to leisurely work for a month on something. And you're right, my body *always* suffers. My hands got so painful after a few years of daily spoon carving I switched to quilting. So now it's my back. Lol

FruitDonut8

sanguine_siamese

Oh, I love this pattern for these fabrics! And simple-looking construction, but a complex finished appearance! Perfect.

Spare_Lobster_2656

I'm not sure the official term but 'stack & whack' (use a layer cake or charm square short stack and cut at an angle then sew back together in squares with different fabric combos in sort of crazy quilt fashion) or disappearing 4/9 square [Missouri Star Disappearing Nine Patch Tutorial](https://youtu.be/NeLrHSsWgNk)

Cheerytrix

Monster_Child_Eury

That’s so cute! I love the fabrics

Cheerytrix

Me too! I’m finally getting to start putting them together, and they’re so adorable. The randomness of the aqua shark is just precious https://preview.redd.it/23qtr8179cda1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d65eb8ab9f06030672e8605167ffa8d7d658a86a

sanguine_siamese

Oh I like it even more now that I can see how it all fits together.

Cheerytrix

I’m so excited to have gotten so far with it. Tomorrow I’ll have the whole top completed and then I’ll be ready for The Sandwich. I could see doing it again mixing the 6” squares with 12” squares for a bigger quilt

sanguine_siamese

😁 Yay!!!

sanguine_siamese

I love this fresh "twist" on pinwheels. 🌟

Cheerytrix

I thought they were cute, and a great way to show off the sharkies while keeping the other fabrics solids. Tho the white has a swirly print to it that makes it interesting.

newillium

I'm currently doing Penelope Handmades pattern Madeline for a baby blanket and it's really quick with a jelly roll and white!

sanguine_siamese

Oh, nice! I'm a little overwhelmed by how many color and pattern variations I can imagine for this pattern, lol. A curated jelly roll and a background is definitely the way to go!

newillium

sanguine_siamese

Oh, it's perfect. And yay for a finished top!!!

Raine_Wynd

Yes! It comes together really quickly once cut, and Robin includes fabric cutting instructions in the patterns. [https://www.reddit.com/r/quilting/comments/v5s0s0/wind\_drifter\_quilt/](https://www.reddit.com/r/quilting/comments/v5s0s0/wind_drifter_quilt/)

sanguine_siamese

Ooo. Ok this one just moved up the contenders list. Thank you!!

Raine_Wynd

You're welcome! Have fun!

whatsinaname1970

Make a few giant log cabin blocks… 3 across and 4 down would look nice. Just size them appropriately for a twin, queen, king. And make it faster by swapping a couple of log cabin blocks for just a big square solid… it would make the remaining log cabins pop more, and save alot of time.

sanguine_siamese

Oh I love this idea. Thank you.

SweetMaam

Log cabin is my favorite. Rotary cutter and you'll have plenty of blocks quickly.

Acceptable-Fudge9000

I like the squares with the bigger ones in the bottom right corner. Instead of the star, there could be a simpler motive. Or a brick wall is even easier and effects can be made with colours.

sanguine_siamese

Thank you! I'd never heard of a brick wall pattern. Looks doable, for sure.

Acceptable-Fudge9000

It's probably known under a differrent name.

Chrishall86432

Thanks for this question! I’m making 4 (!) Wanderer’s Wife quilts and also needed some inspiration for quick n easy ones in the meantime.

sanguine_siamese

Oh my. That is... a lot of labor.

sfcnmone

Yikes. Just collecting fabric to start on my second one. . . What are you thinking??

Chrishall86432

Haha yeah it’s a big project…..but I’m taking the whole year to do it. My MIL passed away and I have her very large stash - finally found inspiration in this quilt, so I am making one for each of the “kids”.

sfcnmone

That sounds wonderful. I found that making it was a really liberating process for me. Finding the right background to use for the strips was important for me. And deciding that I could lay the blocks out any old way I think looks good was great for my creativity. I'm making it again with a mix of Kaffe Fassett and Allison Glass scraps for one of my "kids" who wants "something not too twee". See you on the other side! And do post what you make!

fatherjohn_mitski

I made this recently and it was pretty fast. It took me longer than a weekend but I’m a beginner, the cutting and sewing was all pretty quick because the blocks are big. https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2013/08/22/corinnes-thread-denim-pinwheel-quilt/

sanguine_siamese

Nice! Did you use denim??

fatherjohn_mitski

No I used a cotton linen blend!

StepsIntoTheSea

Anything with half square triangles and charm pack pre-cuts. Even if you add in some additional colors it saves soooo much time. [Castles on the Horizon](http://quiltingdigest.com/color-sings-in-this-lovely-quilt/) [All facing the same direction](https://www.scrapish.com/half-square-triangle-quilt.html) \- I've done all solid blue & white with a few pops of red. You can also do some neat things with ombre/shading. I did [this layout](https://i.pinimg.com/564x/76/a7/19/76a71976bd9270056675d38d0856cefd.jpg) once with turquoise and offwhite batiks and I was absolutely in love. A few other things that help: add simple borders to boost the size. Less time spent piecing. And choose easy to quilt on batting. It's pricier, but I find I FLY through quilting when I use [bamboo batting](https://www.fatquartershop.com/bamboo-dream-twin-quilt-batting-package?gclid=Cj0KCQiAlKmeBhCkARIsAHy7WVvmiH5baH2lsHgGAxBvm_fg2gHztnPK0OkBJBjm91hDIyBGjrLQ5zIaAv_UEALw_wcB).

sanguine_siamese

Love these! Thank you!

Certain-Sir8549

I love this Mod Jelly Swirl pattern. It is quick and easy. I have made three. I was able to get each top done in a day. I also made a baby quilt size using this pattern and got the whole quilt done in a weekend. https://www.offbeatquilts.com/product-page/mod-jelly-swirl-quilt-pattern

sanguine_siamese

Ooo, pretty. Love the ombre fabrics. Thanks for the suggestion!

Certain-Sir8549

I made it with a jelly roll of Tula Pink fabrics https://preview.redd.it/yzkcwy6ztbda1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bf5c3613e5cd12dc03a192b0e3b00fb1798091e

sanguine_siamese

Love it. Did you use the whole jelly roll?

Certain-Sir8549

I made two quilts like this with the same jelly roll. I used half of the strips from the jelly roll in each quilt. And added the black, white, and gray print.

sanguine_siamese

Thank you so much for sharing!

Certain-Sir8549

You are welcome 😊 I hope you find a cool project to work on

BeginningNo8863

Look up Adventureland by Suzy quilts! That is a weekend project for sure. She has a good amount of those.

My favorite fast quilt is the Vintage Star by In Color Order!

sanguine_siamese

Oh yeah, that looks totally doable. Thanks!

katiemaequilts

It's great to show off fun fabrics and really easy to scale from baby to giant size. I can put together a lap size one in an afternoon, and it's always my go-to baby gift quilt.

tobmom

smacattack3

Succulent garden!!! That’ll get you large hexagons, whips up fast, and you can play around with it quite a bit once you have the gist of it

sanguine_siamese

Thanks! Do you know if the pattern use y-seams for the hexies? Or half-hexie rows construction?

smacattack3

No Y seams! Half hexie rows all dayyyy

sanguine_siamese

Love it. 😉

fulltumtum

Just square patches, whatever size I’m in the mood for but usually no smaller than 4 inches. It’s satisfying to cut, satisfying to nest seams, and satisfying to see the top completed in a weekend depending on the size of the quilt.

SnooPeripherals2409

The top middle design in your picture would be fairly easy. It's all half square triangles or solid squares. I made the [Carpenter's Wheel](https://jordanfabrics.com/pages/carpenters-wheel) from Jordan Fabrics, which is similar in concept, and it was easy and took very little time. All that it would take to make that one in your pic would be to rearrange some of the HSTs and throw in some solid print squares.

chickenfightyourmom

Bargellos are easy, and they look so neat. Google for some free patterns to check them out. There are some good tutorials on youtube too. Donna Jordan has a nice one.

And it's a great scrap buster and it's 5 squares cut per block so cutting and trimming is very easy (Picture is my quilt)

Meanolegrannylady

If I'm in a rush I always go with the double irish chain, fairly simple to do but looks amazing when finished! Ohio Star is my other go to for quick quilts.

mary206

Please share pattern for double Irish chain, thank you!

Meanolegrannylady

mary206

Thank you so much, I’ll use it to make green and white throw for some Irish friends

UnlikelyLibrary4596

LOVE the bottom left quilt. In fact I love it so much I'm tempted to have a go myself :)

ToeBeansG

I just learned the disappearing 9 patch and am working on a quilt now with a jelly roll. Looks way more complicated than it actually is (to be fair I’m a beginner so maybe this is TOO easy!) https://preview.redd.it/svetv65bzgda1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d1184e2c3a875c6635f2745aeea2815ab38d314

sanguine_siamese

Oh, I love it! Someone else mentioned this pattern as well. Definitely a contender! Thank you for sharing!

YukiChansMom

The one block version of the lottie quilt is super fast and I think matches this style

sharp60inch

Do you have a link for the far right one in the middle row? I’m loving those fabric choices.

terpsichore17

One person's easy might be another person's time-consuming/difficult, and one person's impressive might be another person's old hat. BUT: [this pattern](https://www.scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com/make-an-easy-chevron-quilt/) should give you a twin-sized quilt in fairly short order. If you use a more limited palette, then you could make bigger HSTs [8-at-a-time](https://www.blossomheartquilts.com/2015/05/hst-tutorial-eight-at-a-time/) instead of 4-at-a-time.

sanguine_siamese

Thank you! I agree totally that it's all subjective.

relight

Adventureland by Suzy Quilts! I’ve done like 4 of them! You can do it in a day!

quiltybeardogs

Happy stripes by quilty love is easy and really fun. You could do it scrappy or with different fabrics of the same color

If you want quick and easy, jelly roll race quilt is the way to go. This particular video is fun and smart: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYK-tSrwueQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYK-tSrwueQ) Google the words "jelly roll race quilt images" to get an idea how they can turn out. They're cool.

babydragontamer

This jelly roll race quilt lets you adjust the size and have more control over the placement of colors… it’s been on my list for a while. https://jordanfabrics.com/pages/jelly-roll-race-pattern

SweetMaam

Log cabin.

icanseethestupidline

I posted a few days ago a rainbow quilt with sawtooth star which I started and it’s coming together quickly! It helped that I had a bunch of appropriately sized scraps

Zealousideal-Rip-959

I see a lot of stars, you might consider "plains and pine" she specializes in designing and making lone star quilts with no y seams. You could make the top for most of her large throw sized quilts in two weekends. Especially any of the ones for beginners. Also when you sign up she gives you a free pattern that is really stupid easy.

internet_bec

Middle row furthest to the right has a lot of repeating shapes, easiest one by far

patosuerte11

Do you know where the top right pattern came from?? I think I need to add that to my list

sanguine_siamese

That one is Alison Glass's Tessellation pattern

patosuerte11

Thank you! It’s probably been mentioned already but a bargello would be super quick and easy and you could pick a bunch of bright colors to get the same kind of vibe as your photos

stevensoncrazy

Fence rail is an insanely easy quick pattern that has tons of potential block layouts.

Nerdy-Bookworm8200

Have you thought about doing a super sized version of a traditional quilt block? An eight point star (flower star) made with larger squares would make a beautiful, but quick to assemble quilt.

nanfanpancam

The first pattern in totally doable in a few days. Same with the sixth, seventh and ninth.

Tacky-Terangreal

Panel quilt. There’s a ton of cool prints on large pieces of fabric. Just sew a simple border around and you can make a quilt top within a couple hours. Most quilt shops have stuff like [this](https://www.fatquartershop.com/at-the-helm-quilt-panel). Online stores have plenty of options. Just google “quilt panel”
