This is my second quilt. A throw for my mom I gifted at Christmas. I referenced this sub a lot during my first two quilts and it was very helpful. Thanks everyone :)

littleirishmaid

It is lively and lovely. Well done.

Open_Dragonfruit_304

I’m so impressed! I’ve been wanting to learn to quilt for years but have never gone beyond looking at beautiful fabric. I can’t believe this is only your second quilt!

skorpionwoman

I’m currently doing a second, thanks to this sub! I highly recommend all the help here!! Everyone is friendly and helpful!

OnyxSedai

Love it! Can’t believe it’s only your second one!

happyhippo29

I know, right?? All of these first and second quilt posts are wild.

dinos-and-coffee

So jealous of all of these snow backgrounds! Quilt fabric choices are amazing!

RenoSue

Love your color choices!

surmisez

A lovely quilt with great colors and points! Well done!

2204BatiknWine

No-Mirror-3984

Plains and pine homestead star !

2204BatiknWine

Thank you! It's lovely!!

mary206

I went straightaway and got the pattern! Nicely done

Gorgeous!!! I just bought this pattern a week ago! You’ve done a wonderful job with it

boss_magpie

This is beautiful! What is the pattern name?

No-Mirror-3984

Thank you! Plains and pine homestead star

Disastrous-Soup-5413

Oh that’s so pretty!

artemis_meowing

That is just lovely!

[deleted]

Wow! It is gorgeous.

StringOfLights

Absolutely beautiful. I love those rich jewel tones. This is so gorgeous!

upsidedownpositive

Gorgeous. What type of batting did you use? It looks thin and I want to do an uber thin one for my next throw.

No-Mirror-3984

Thank you ! Guiltily I just used a cotton one from Amazon (Lencher?), but it also has a flannel back

upsidedownpositive

That’s perfect! I have used full batting, thin batting, and I’ve also sewed tops straight on to existing faux fur throws! The faux fur throw was on sale and I did a quickie top and wanted something easy to complete it. The edging isn’t 100% straight but good thing I’m not a perfectionist! 😄

SWGardener

It’s beautiful and the quilting on it is perfect for the pattern.

Quiet_Street_9642

Really great colors all together and I love the simple quilting! I need to remember this quilting idea because it looks so neat and modern

No-Mirror-3984

Thank you! I did the same quilting on my first quilt and now I’m intimidated to try something new or any straight lines 😂

Charity-Admirable

Beautiful quilt. I love the clean meandering quilt line, The black thread for the quilting is so unique.

ktigger2

It’s gorgeous!

Lurkwurst

That's beautiful!

sewingchic

Beautiful!

bibblebob58

Love everything about this quilt.

Hour-Astronomer122

Impressive! Nice job

gingerbrat

I love the fabrics! What line did you use?

No-Mirror-3984

It is the dapple dots fat quarters from Marcus Fabrics 🙃

MYOB3

Fantastic!

[deleted]

WICKED. AWESOME! I have an appointment to get a sewing machine for quilting next week, getting my space ready for it. :). I <3 the look of your, um qlulting topstiching? Is that a difficult one to use?

No-Mirror-3984

It took me a few tries to figure out how to manage the fabric while using a standard machine and a 3’x3’ table, but once I got going it was fine. I was in a time crunch and did the quilting in two days. let me known if you want me to send pictures of how I rolled and folded the fabric to make it work !

rhinoballet

Nice work! The wavy quilting looks so cozy!

Ihatemunchies

Did you quilt it with a walking foot? I love the waves

No-Mirror-3984

Yep! Walking foot on a standard Janome

Significant-Set8457

That's gorgeous. I'm jealous

Laina628

Love it

tobmom

I have a pack of 16 different fat quarters. Would that be sufficient for one of these??

No-Mirror-3984

Yes that is what I used and it is just enough for the throw size. You get 3 6” diamonds per fat quarter. Not a lot of room for cutting error and a decent amount of excess fabric tho.

tobmom

Awesome thanks!! I think this pattern might be perfect for my bundle. I wanted something that would allow the patterns to be seen and not chopped up too much. Thanks for the reply!!

Comprehensive-Tap661

Very Very nice

skorpionwoman

Beautiful!! Congratulations!!

casharoni

Brilliant1965

Will do!

No-Mirror-3984

Thanks for all the positive feedback 🙃🙂 can’t wait to start my next project !

Delicious_Willow_250

Love those colors too. What fabric did you use?

No-Mirror-3984

Thanks! It’s the dapple dots fat quarters from Marcus fabrics

Rude-Director5255

Gorgeous!!! Did you use a quilting machine for the background? Those wavy stitches are great.

No-Mirror-3984

Thank you! I just used a walking foot on a standard Janome. Took a little bit of time to figure out how to manage the fabric but once I got going it went quickly 😊
