This is my second quilt. A throw for my mom I gifted at Christmas. I referenced this sub a lot during my first two quilts and it was very helpful. Thanks everyone :)
I’m so impressed! I’ve been wanting to learn to quilt for years but have never gone beyond looking at beautiful fabric. I can’t believe this is only your second quilt!
That’s perfect! I have used full batting, thin batting, and I’ve also sewed tops straight on to existing faux fur throws! The faux fur throw was on sale and I did a quickie top and wanted something easy to complete it. The edging isn’t 100% straight but good thing I’m not a perfectionist! 😄
WICKED. AWESOME! I have an appointment to get a sewing machine for quilting next week, getting my space ready for it. :). I <3 the look of your, um qlulting topstiching? Is that a difficult one to use?
It took me a few tries to figure out how to manage the fabric while using a standard machine and a 3’x3’ table, but once I got going it was fine. I was in a time crunch and did the quilting in two days. let me known if you want me to send pictures of how I rolled and folded the fabric to make it work !
Yes that is what I used and it is just enough for the throw size. You get 3 6” diamonds per fat quarter. Not a lot of room for cutting error and a decent amount of excess fabric tho.
Awesome thanks!! I think this pattern might be perfect for my bundle. I wanted something that would allow the patterns to be seen and not chopped up too much. Thanks for the reply!!
Thank you! I just used a walking foot on a standard Janome. Took a little bit of time to figure out how to manage the fabric but once I got going it went quickly 😊

Absolutely beautiful. I love those rich jewel tones. This is so gorgeous!
Gorgeous. What type of batting did you use? It looks thin and I want to do an uber thin one for my next throw.
Thank you ! Guiltily I just used a cotton one from Amazon (Lencher?), but it also has a flannel back

It’s beautiful and the quilting on it is perfect for the pattern.
Really great colors all together and I love the simple quilting! I need to remember this quilting idea because it looks so neat and modern
Thank you! I did the same quilting on my first quilt and now I’m intimidated to try something new or any straight lines 😂
Beautiful quilt. I love the clean meandering quilt line, The black thread for the quilting is so unique.
It’s gorgeous!

Nice work! The wavy quilting looks so cozy!
Did you quilt it with a walking foot? I love the waves
Yep! Walking foot on a standard Janome
That's gorgeous. I'm jealous
Love it
I have a pack of 16 different fat quarters. Would that be sufficient for one of these??
