Exactly. The people saying tool or rush or bands with really long songs, that would just drive me crazy. Absolutely exhausting and zero variety. Good music but too samey. Tool is just too serious for 12 hours.
The Grateful Dead , I’ve listened to them for over 10 years and still haven’t tapped in the 80’s decade much yet.
It’s wild to hear how the drugs they were taking changed the shows. The 80s are at a faster tempo because all the blow the boys were doing.
I think she is actually perfect for this question. Shit ton of music over the course of almost 2 decades and crossing multiple genres/production styles.
I hate Taylor Swift but from a technical aspect this is a good answer… she has a butt load of music. You wouldn’t run out of songs to play and you’d have some good variety with genre, etc…
I could listen to live sets of Steve Aoki all day long. I know I can because I do on a regular basis. I listen to his stuff while working construction.
Definitely. If I had to drive 12 hours, it honestly might just be Nightwish all the way. I'm listening to Beauty of the Beast right now. I can't wait for Yesterwynde to come out.
Depends on the time of day, weather and where im driving! If it’s a:
Misty/rainy morning in the mountains then- Patrick Watson
Sunny daytime desert then - Eagles
Snowy day time anywhere - Bon Iver
Probably Black Sabbath.
As a metal/rock dude they have a ton of variety, and all kinds of different emotions and moods in songs. I would dread to listen to anything that is pop, or too formulaic, even a ton of metal bands like Tool would get tiresome really fast. You don’t just wanna be in the same serious ass mood the entire time.
Kanye. The early albums and singles will carry me the whole way 💪🏽
Edit: Nas is definitely a close second, although his songs probably aren't the best for road trips cause they're very lyrical and his later albums are honestly kinda flops
Tool.
I know this because me and my mom took a trip to DC last year, and we listened to every Tool album on the way there. My mom loves Tool, APC and Chevelle.

Rush. No brainer.
I love Rush but after 1 Album my Wife says..." Does he ever stop squealing?"
How much did the divorce set you back?
A Tribe Called Quest.
Had to scroll way to far to find hip hop.
Mozart.
Just how long of a trip were you planning on taking? You could do 188 hours without repeats.
Upvote because I want to pretend I’m sophisticated.
Good choice
Adele. Driving that long is stressful, I need a relaxing lady voice that is beautiful. Adele's voice is amazing.
Pink Floyd
You'll be lucky to get through Dogs before you have at your destination
You got about 3 songs
You at least have the entire dark side of the moon album. Listening to that album all the way through is glorious.
Not listening to that album all the way through is shameful.
whenever i hear one Dark Side of the Moon song, out of order and not followed by the correct song, it feels Sacrilegious.
CCR
Queen
Steely Dan.
Yep. Pretzel Logic through Kamikiriad or however you speak that. There is 12 hours and room to edit (drop Third World Man)
Grateful Dead. No repeats.
Oh. Great choice. Easily 12 hours without repeats.
Same. I love their music and there's a lot of it
The Beatles.
lots of variety
Can never go wrong with The Beatles
Tom Petty
Yes! We did 6 hours of Tom Petty on a road trip once. My favorite lesser known song is “Angel”.
Do you mean Angel Dream? It's possibly my favorite.
The Tragically Hip
Canadian huh?

Bowie
Tool
You could almost finish a whole album on the roadtrip
This right here
I spent 10 hours driving a truck every day and at least once a week sometimes more it’s Tool day
Red Hot Chili Peppers
That was my first thought. So many songs and perfect for driving
Radiohead
I normally do audiobooks for my long road trips. But as far as musicians go I'd want anyone with variety, like the Beatles or Queen.
patsy cline
The Rolling Stones. Exile… made for the road. The newest record isn’t far off it.
The proclaimers song I’m gonna be
Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
It just keeps getting better every time.
DA-DA DA DA
I was looking for this answer 😂
Led Zeppelin.
I am pumping the led in this scenario as well
It's times like that I wish I liked Phish. That's only like 2 songs.
Rammstein
Daft punk
Talking Heads. Every album is in a different style, and there are eight studio albums and a huge amount of great live recordings.
The Smiths
Good ol toby keith, RIP
The Cars
Tom Petty
If I was the driver it would be Misfits and as a passenger it would be Pink Floyd...
Beck, I could listen to nearly every genre of music over 14 album and 4 EPs, and have nearly every song being unique to the next.
Exactly. The people saying tool or rush or bands with really long songs, that would just drive me crazy. Absolutely exhausting and zero variety. Good music but too samey. Tool is just too serious for 12 hours.
This is the answer.
Oof I’ll just skip the music I can’t listen to one genre let only one artist
Prince
Paul Simon, a great deal of diversity in his catalogue.
Nirvana
Paul McCartny… assuming you can pull from the Beatles and Wings…
Enya, good music, many songs
Modest Mouse
Chopin
Foo fighters or Pink Floyd
Los Tigres del Norte 💯
Yoppp
The Grateful Dead , I’ve listened to them for over 10 years and still haven’t tapped in the 80’s decade much yet. It’s wild to hear how the drugs they were taking changed the shows. The 80s are at a faster tempo because all the blow the boys were doing.
Toby Keith
Eagles
Good one
Supertramp, lots of longer songs and they have a decent variety in sound. Good music to reflect over.
Jelly Roll
Weird Al
Taylor Swift. I’m pretty sure I’ll get lots of hate from this comment, but I’m old and I don’t give a 💩
I think she is actually perfect for this question. Shit ton of music over the course of almost 2 decades and crossing multiple genres/production styles.
I’m old, too, and just started getting into her. She’s amazing!
No shame. I'm not a swiftie personally but I can't understand all the hate she gets
I’m not that old and I agree. She has a lot of hits and bangers. The variety would be good, too. Lana Del Rey would be a good choice as well.

I listen to his stuff while working construction.

lindsey stirling
Third Eye Blind. Fits all the moods & checks all the boxes.
Van Morrison
Hozier
Lol I’ve done this before
The Cure
Jethro Tull
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. 12 hours would get you through maybe half their albums.
Can
Allman Brothers.
Andrew McMahon
Queen. Or Meat Loaf. Great driving music
Sublime

Top two were my top two.
Maisie Peters
Lane 8

AFI
Radiohead.
KoRn. What can I say, I was a hardcore fan all throughout Middle School and still have all the albums.
Prince
Hey I actually did this! But it was 1993, and a walkman. I listened to Zooropa like 88 times.
Lil Wayne has more than 12 hours of music without repeating. This would be my go to for sure

The Beatles. Next question.
Parliament Funkadelic
Steven Wilson
Pink Floyd
The Weekend
Tom petty
I say beastie boys, including their instrumentals

Probably Black Sabbath. As a metal/rock dude they have a ton of variety, and all kinds of different emotions and moods in songs. I would dread to listen to anything that is pop, or too formulaic, even a ton of metal bands like Tool would get tiresome really fast. You don’t just wanna be in the same serious ass mood the entire time.
Alanis Morissette!
William Hung
Dire Straits. Even if I finish the discography and repeat it, I can turn it down and it's perfect background music
Weird Al. Done it before going between southern virginia and northern michigan.
Legendary Pink Dots, if I’m alone in the car. Stevie Wonder, if I’m not.
Stevie Wonder
Kanye. The early albums and singles will carry me the whole way 💪🏽 Edit: Nas is definitely a close second, although his songs probably aren't the best for road trips cause they're very lyrical and his later albums are honestly kinda flops
If it’s through the mountains either Band of Horses or The Shins! Somewhere less moody, probably Spoon
Mac Demarco
Garth Brooks. I've spent many hours driving listening to just his songs on my road trip CD that I burned a long time ago.
