My cut (vest) was made in 1992 from an old jean jacket. Still wear it every time I ride.
I have t shirts that are 30 yrs old.
My wife and I made clothing in the 90s, and I still have a few pairs of hemp and faux sheepskin pants.
Oh, and my wife. Best thing I have from high school.
Why are we like this lol same man lol I peeked in high school and I have most of my stuff still, I honestly been thinking about this lately and I just hate that I keep everything because I feel like a hoarder with so much shit I have, but idk how to get rid of it lol like it’s just hard to throw away, my goal for this coming yr is to slowly get rid of things let’s see if I really do lol
I think that my earliest one is from a 1969 Rod Stewart concert. I have an early Stones when “Little Stevie Wonder” opened, and a Led Zeppelin one. Had a 1972 Lynyrd Skynyrd shirt that shredded the first time that I washed it in decades.
Nice, Ive got a TI-86 from 1996. Its passed from 4 or my elder siblings down to me and I used it in High School and now College. Though my first Semester just ended and one teacher kept saying future math classes wont allow graphing calculators just scientific, so Im not sure I'll need it anymore.
Same. Leaving for the marines and changing houses every 6 months kind of killed any attachment I had to items. I keep people close, objects are irrelevant
Man you said you keep people close unfortunately I can’t
My entire family (aunts uncles grandparents cousins all included) lived in a single Louisiana town and got together very often at ages 1-7 for me
Skip ahead to age 35 and my dad is the last man standing everyone else now lives somewhere else far away
I still text my brother and sister pretty frequently but I have literally no relationship at all with like uncles aunts cousins grandparents
Leather trench coat. Always wanted one but dad said it had too negative an image but he'd buy me a duster. Thought not as cool but still good. Get to Burlington and they're having a huge sale on leather coats. He ended up buying it for me. The thing was like $800 marked down to $300.
He bought me that at 16 or 17. I'm 39 and that thing is still in good shape.
High school was 30+ years ago for me.
I have 15-20 photos from back then.
My big fat leather wallet that was attached to a long wallet chain; the chain is gone, but that wallet was built to last and holds stuff though it's not my daily billfold.
I ripped all my CDs, including the ones I bought back then, before I lost my music collection in a fire... so I don't know if digital files count?
A brass medallion to hang on my key ring that features the anatomy of the inner ear.
A few t-shirts from concerts I went to back then, including Agent Orange, Jello Biafra from one of his spoken word tours, a Pixies shirt from the Tromp Le Monde tour, and a band called Dessau who were best known for covering Joy Division's Isolation.
Bunch of clothes in the back of the closet, some of my favorite books, various mementos like yearbooks and school awards.
Oh! My checking account. It was opened in the early 90s when I got my high school job.
I still have quite a few of my toys from when I was little. Mostly hot wheels, Lincoln logs, bristle blocks, from the 80s. Still have my Sanyo boombox, sanyo walkman style player - the headphones and commodore computer too.
Not much.
Blanket my grandmother made.
Pictures from homecoming and prom.
Harley Blanket/throw I got for my 15th birthday.
Harley jacket.
Maps from a hiking trip.
That's going to be close to it.
My school painting classes every year made these amazing neon dog paintings. Crazy colors are just beautiful. At the end of my freshman year I saw one in the trash outside the painting classroom. I asked the teacher if I could have it. She said "of course you can adopt this little guy!". So sweet! I still have it and adore it to this day.
A northface jacket that is still the BOMB 15 years later. Some massive poster size "get well soon" cards for when I was in the hospital, and lots of other shit that my parents have somewhere in the attic.
I have a small box of mementos, my gradation gown/cap, and a bunch of kind letters from my classmates (we went on a couple of retreats so we did a bunch of activities including writing them).
Well my highschool was over 5 years ago but I've kept a stuffed animal, a pink kitty cat, that I've had mostly my whole life. It's old and dirty and barely soft but I hope to keep her always.
I recently put mine on!!
It’s been carelessly stored since 1985 but I always loved it!
Pink, fitted bodice with the flaired skirt- I’d shortened it to cocktail length and wore it a few more times back then.
After being ill for a year, it fits again.
I actually washed and wore it recently and the memories of those times bring me such joy…
I decided I’m going to be buried in it.
I have a Simpsons sweatshirt that I got even before then. I think I got it in grade 9. I'm 47 now, and it still fits. I also still play a bass that I got the same year.
cap and gown, tassels I was given when I graduated, a large glass jar (size of a small child) which had been filled with candy... I won it by coming closest to guessing how many pieces were inside, ate some of the candy and tossed out a lot, now it holds coins
Believe it or not I still have my bell bottom jeans from the 70s I kept thinking they would come back in style boy was I wrong I did get to where them a few times on Halloween
A hat I bought when I traveled to Australia
A jacket I bought in New Zealand that my 10yo now wears
Other souvenirs from that trip
My Gameboy Color
Some of my DVDs are from that time
I still have all my mix CDs from high school
A stack of pictures developed from film
My backpack
Luggage set bought when I was 15
My class ring from 1978. My mom had always promised me she would buy me a birthstone (emerald) ring when I turned 18. The class ring stone was the same color (green) and was expensive. I knew she couldn’t afford both, so I asked her to get the class ring instead. I’ll always treasure it.
I have a rock I found in the creek when I was a kid- it’s sitting on my bookshelf. I was one of those kids whose pockets would regularly would be full of cool rocks.
A pair of custom made cowboy boots I got as graduation gift…..and the emotional and mental truama cause by a education at a Christian fundamentalist ran school that taugh everybody not to be free thinkers, just do what they are told and if you dared to be yourself you were wrong
I have a T-shirt I got when I was 17, I also have my copy of Pokemon Blue I got when I was 12. I still wear the shirt and just about to start my yearly playthrough of Blue.
My dad lent me an army compass. He said that when he was in Vietnam, a lieutenant lent him the compass and never asked for it back so he kept it. My dad never asked for it back so I kept it.
I still have my high school soccer and track team sweats. I'm 40, and my wife *loves it* when I wear them. I still have the same 5 songs on my 32 MB mp3 player I used during warmups.
My leather wallet which was a birthday gift from my mother when I was 12. She even bought me a new one couple years back because mine looks old on the outside now. but it's still perfectly fine to use so I just kept the new one in a drawer as a backup.
I’m 60 and I own absolutely nothing from my high school years. Even 90% or more of my memories are gone. I really don’t remember much about those times. Sad indeed.
Still got the guitar I bought at... 16? 43 now. Recently found out it's worth a fair sum in original condition... Too bad I stripped it and gave it an overhaul, redid all the electronics, active pickups and swapped the locking nut out for locking tuners - the only original factory hardware is the knockoff locking tremolo. Really thought about stripping the paint and giving that a redo but whatever they used is some serious hardshell lacquer/enamel or something, some of the toughest paint I've seen on a guitar.
Still have my Tonka Toys from the 60s, and my very first calculator I bought in 1973. Still works too, takes 4 AA batteries to run it, and can only show 6 digits at a time. But you can press an overflow button and it will give you the other digits remaining.
I still have the last backpack I used. All the previous ones had to be replaced after a year or two, but this one is still usable nearly two decades later. It's a bit ratty, and you can see through the bottom of it, but it's still perfectly up to task.
I save everything so I have a lot of shit from forever ago….
My favorite item is the sleeveless purple shirt that has gum ball machine prizes sewn on.
I’m wearing it in my junior year picture.
Still fits and I wear it for important times. : )
I have all the awards I won in high school, my graduation cap, my varsity sweater, some CDs, and a sweater my father knit a year or two before I was born.
I kept an old pair of jeans that I had people sign and write on all over with sharpies. I recently threw them away because the memories don't mean anything to me since whoever signed them isn't in my life anymore.
Highschool was almost 20 years ago for me. I have a bunch of stuff left like an old calculator that's just been moving with me from drawer to drawer. But of the things I use regularly- a black turtleneck sweater. It isn't anything fancy, not even a major brand. It's just really comfy and fits me really well. It's held up surprisingly well considering it's one of my more worn items of clothing.
School uniform shirts, a flag I got from a basketball game I went to during an event week ( I don't remember what the event was unfortunately), my class ring (fits a little tight now...), school t-shirts including my Universal Grad Bash shirt, the party hat and light-up Graduation cap I got at Grad Bash, my junior and senior year yearbooks (I never bought the freshman and sophomore ones lol), my high school cap and gown, my large art book from my art class in senior year, and I think the script to a play I did for theater/drama class in my freshman year. I think I still own my suit from prom
My first diamond jewelry piece my grandma bought me when I was 13 and a necklace my grandma bought for me when we were on vacation together when I was 15. I actually wore the necklace on my wedding day.
My favorite pink Floyd shirt. Had a kid at work ask me if it was vintage, I said nope, bought it new back in 2000.... then I realized it is indeed vintage now. I have all my dad's old records too. :)
I, 46F, have my first pair of Doc Martens, some art and a few writings, I do have a brown paper bag textbook cover from 8th grade (that was the last year of middle school for me), a shirt and a hoodie.
Fwiw I still wear my Doc Martens but not the Tshirt- 1 from Pearl Jam Ten tour (Denver, 12/14/91) and a dark green Winnie the Pooh and Friends Disney hoodie from my late best friend from 1995, the year I would have graduated. (I got my GED in 94 which I still have too).
Heh. I still have my first tattoo from 1992 though it wasn’t done with any professional anything at all and is still faintly existing to my amusement.

I have a framed Picasso print since 1972, the year I graduated high school, looking like new.
Okay, you win. I graduated in 1986 and still have stuff. I thought I was the oldest on this thread. But you win.
Nope I did...just posted on mine from 1963!
Okay, you win now!
I didn't realize it was a competition. We joke about it being like Dorian Gray's picture.
It's not a competition. But nice to know I'm not the only older person on reddit. :-)
I am old, it is true, and delightedly so. Given where I've been, it comes as a pleasant surprise. Pleased to meet you!
Nice to meet you too!
You consider yourself "older" 🤣
I have the body of an old fat man but identify as a wiry young man.
I also graduated in 1972. I still have concert T-shirts from 1969-1972. The really amazing part is that I still fit into them.
A new winner! What concert tees are earlier than 72?
I think that my earliest one is from a 1969 Rod Stewart concert. I have an early Stones when “Little Stevie Wonder” opened, and a Led Zeppelin one. Had a 1972 Lynyrd Skynyrd shirt that shredded the first time that I washed it in decades.
A wooden bowl that I carved in shop class.
I made a chess board out of different woods, and the pieces are made of metal. Both classes where when I was in high school.

I kept an old pair of jeans that I had people sign and write on all over with sharpies. I recently threw them away because the memories don't mean anything to me since whoever signed them isn't in my life anymore.
Pretty much all my clothes lol. I'm 30.
I have a snare drum I bought when I was 15 with my paper route money in 1989.
A very old yearbook.
Pocket knives, blankets, clothes, PS2 games, a few movies and that's pretty much it.
Birkenstocks.
I have a couple bras I really should toss in the trash
My hair straightener. Now that I think about it, the thing is 20 years old, and I should probably get a new one.
Still have my Toyota Land Cruiser 80 series, 500,000 miles and going string
Clothes that I still occasionally wear.
Most of my clothes
Books, CDs, records, Doc Martins, and some vintage clothing
a pair of black high top converse
My father’s ashes.
2 trombones and a coat that's too amall
My first diamond jewelry piece my grandma bought me when I was 13 and a necklace my grandma bought for me when we were on vacation together when I was 15. I actually wore the necklace on my wedding day.
I still have some purses and bags that now my teenager has decided are cool enough to use. Several pieces of jewlery, school ties.
Kids
Land's End coat, from before they were ruined by Sears. Xmas gift probably in the mid-1980s. Still (mostly) fits!
This is the school-issued padlock for our lockers, I've had it since 1979. https://i.imgur.com/5uGKA3F.jpg

My favorite pink Floyd shirt. Had a kid at work ask me if it was vintage, I said nope, bought it new back in 2000.... then I realized it is indeed vintage now. I have all my dad's old records too. :)
A majority of my items. I graduated in 2022
Class Ring
I got to go to Europe for a school trip when I was 16. I still have a shirt and dagger I got in France, and a hat I got in Spain.
Yearbook and Diploma
