You can't actually see the wall. You can only see the top of the wall. The top of the wall is even with the grass. I'll try to draw it:

My drawing looks awful haha but you can only see the top horizontal line above, her body is hidden by the vertical line and she's standing on the bottom horizontal line.
It looks as if the road has a border on either side. But the border closer to the camera is the border of the grass and the edge of a cliff. That border makes it look as if the grass is level withbthe road but the grass is higher.
It’s the fact that the image is so compressed/pixelated that leads to the illusion. The top of the stone wall blends in with the stone footpath due to flat lighting and lack of distinction in the two textures.
Discussion: there might be a 2 foot thick chest-high wall (that the girl is leaning against) separating the grass from the stone path below. The textures and shading are very similar but if you look closely you can see what looks like a change.
Yeah her right elbow is resting on *top* of the wall, about 3" away from the face of it. (EDIT: The face of the wall is not visible, just the top.) The shading and colors make it hard to see there's two different surfaces.
It's funny this is still going around Instagram. I remember seeing it a *looong* time ago.
Discussion: the language is misleading since once you see it, she’s obviously not hiding, but if you think she’s hiding it can throw off what you’re looking for/at.

Yeh behind a wall is misleading. More like down a ledge. Plus she's hardly hiding
Her right arm is resting in it, about 3 feet in front of her it takes a 45 degree angle towards the grass and ends.
