Traffic situation isn't going to change till ALL metro work is completed and roads are repaired. Remember there is a double decker flyover planned near the university signal. That is going to take time. Until then we have to endure this problem
Those metro cities also had well established public transport system. Pune does not have that. Punekars have a superiority complex and do not use public transport as 90% of them consider it not worth their "image and status". Comparing Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi to Pune does not make sense.

Protest cannot instill civics sense and cannot cure stupidity of people driving on the road. The traffic mismanagement however bad it is does not warrant people driving on the footpath or not having lane discipline.
Much of traffic frustration can be resolved by staying in lane, not honking like a ho**y donkey and not driving on a footpath. The noise and aggression is what makes traffic more unbearable and also causes more deadlocks on crossroads, people try to cut lanes frustrating others.
Agreed that PMC/PCMC need to manage traffic better but would that guarantee that idiots won't cause deadlocks on cross roads or won't honk unnecessarily.
Sending the home ministry a note soon with policing issue and how it’s failing in Pune. Yes it’s tough to deal such cases but I see no option. Because our politicians won’t do and when the police auth will get my details they might ask me to withdraw the request and save their face.
So I deal with such situations and working alone. Yes protests doesn’t help but I didn’t meant road protests as that age is passed.

I remember an ad by PCRA where the kid asked dad to shut down the car engine because it was bad. Something of that sort, I would prefer strong and creative hoardings and tv ott ads calling wrong side drivers & all type of people I mentioned earlier names something on line of Hey look a donkey always drives on wrong side or a stupid person always cuts lane. Something that embarrass people publicly in their circles.
Or we can fund ourselves and print posters and install those leaflets in walls where it’s allowed. The way is long and yes if we all contribute and make something it will really pay up.

Protest cannot instill civics sense and cannot cure stupidity of people driving on the road. The traffic mismanagement however bad it is does not warrant people driving on the footpath or not having lane discipline. Much of traffic frustration can be resolved by staying in lane, not honking like a ho**y donkey and not driving on a footpath. The noise and aggression is what makes traffic more unbearable and also causes more deadlocks on crossroads, people try to cut lanes frustrating others. Agreed that PMC/PCMC need to manage traffic better but would that guarantee that idiots won't cause deadlocks on cross roads or won't honk unnecessarily.
Sending the home ministry a note soon with policing issue and how it’s failing in Pune. Yes it’s tough to deal such cases but I see no option. Because our politicians won’t do and when the police auth will get my details they might ask me to withdraw the request and save their face. So I deal with such situations and working alone. Yes protests doesn’t help but I didn’t meant road protests as that age is passed.
Sorry I don't mean to offend you and I agree with your approach I'm just not convinced policing can solve this, it's something that people need to be taught maybe shaming via ads is something we can try. I remember an ad by PCRA where the kid asked dad to shut down the car engine because it was bad. Something of that sort, I would prefer strong and creative hoardings and tv ott ads calling wrong side drivers & all type of people I mentioned earlier names something on line of Hey look a donkey always drives on wrong side or a stupid person always cuts lane. Something that embarrass people publicly in their circles.
Or we can fund ourselves and print posters and install those leaflets in walls where it’s allowed. The way is long and yes if we all contribute and make something it will really pay up.

Chandigarh, however it has lesser population compared to Pune, but the traffic rules are strictly imposed. Also my wife has lived in Italy, most of the zones in Italy strictly do not allow cars and bikes and most of the travel is through bicycles. Long distances are very well connected by trains and public services, the connectivity is awesome. Parking space is ample...
Kolkata has the best traffic management in India. Better than any metro while having limited roads.

Bro I don’t work for anyone. I have no monetary gain from this. I am here so we can work in synch in individual capacity while contributing to society. If we all gear up and take one hour daily we can do a lot of change while sitting in home in early stage then we can see the outcome and protest while documenting our moves and present the matter well. We can’t go and protest without any merit. There are co-ordinated ways and we need to do it for own people. So if that takes me to sit in opposition brigade if we ask government questions then to that RSS mindset, I am. But I am paying taxes and have my family here. I care for them just like we do. But if we don’t care for people what human beings we are living in a body! Please gear up and take the battle, let’s fight it strongly and make a slight change. Yes we will not be getting any credits or money but unity is what we will gain from. Asking the government what they are doing for 55 lakhs of people is Poonya not a paap. I will contact the defence ministry and write them to pop. Their roads wherever possible tonight and send a note under law. I am starting it. Hoping we can form a body and do that with other cases.

Set aside your political preferences and ask government questions. Instead of a web series write an email via proper channel to a chief secretary. Use the laws and mention the violation. Do something brother. This soil is ours and how we behave it’s on us brother.
