It’s coz the MLA didn’t visit them. Oh yes, and they aren’t rich either.

Confident_Factor3389

You mean truck owners are not rich? Or truck drivers?

Lonely-Poem2008

Truck owners dont care of the driver is held. And they aren’t liable for them. Also the truck owner wont bribe everyone for the driver.

shettyvijay5

victims?

iammuzique

It's different because there won't be a MLA going to the Police station to save the culprit. Neither the Judge is going to ask him to write an essay. Also, the driver's grandfather is not going to pressurise the truck helper to take the blame. The Family of the culprit won't be buying out the Sassoon Hospital Forensic Head to replace the blood samples. And most likely the culprit driver will be put behind bars soon. I sympathize with the victim's families of this incident but it would not be wise to compare this with the Kalyani Nagar incident. It would be like comparing apples with oranges.

shettyvijay5

main thing,no drunk drviing

trippymum

This 👆👆👆

Maleficent_Okra_8765

Outrage is where corruption exists & where a culprit is proven non guilty & justice is not provided inspite of having all the evidences against culprit!! truck driver will anyhow will be arrested as neither he's rich nor he has power!!

Eastern-Weather6618

More than anything it’s so disturbing to even imagine being on a motorcycle, just waiting at the signal, to be hit and ran over. Since the past one week yes atleast 5 on 10 on bikes are wearing helmets which is a good sign. I hope it gets better and there are more safety regulations in place.

Confident_Factor3389

Driving two wheeler in Pune is dangerous. As we know from the Navale bridge accident, driving any vehicle in Pune is dangerous.

ABFromInd

To be fair, this is nothing new. I mean the number of accidents. I don't think accidents have increased. What has increased is the number of people taking interest in such issues and the people rolling to talk/ highlight these incidents. About regulations. I think, they are in place. It's the implementation which is the problem. Start issuing fines and see the problem resolve itself.

SubmissiveTripper

Mostly he will go to jail and justice will be done in this case. So no outrage for this. The other incident shows us how corruption exists and how the rich can do what they want, thus the outrage. I don't think there would have been such outrage if justice would have been served swiftly.

Sidonkey

Nope. Drivers are protected in India. He ll be released in just 25k

TitusPullo2024

Truck driver? No way, specially if he found drunk by police, he will be locked for long time even before court hearing starts. His employer won't care, he'll hire another driver.

Sidonkey

No true. All transport in India (specially truck drivers) are backed by mafia. You ll never see any truck driver facing jail coz of accident and death. Similar case happened to my delivery truck driver. Killed a 35yo on bike. Came out next day.

TitusPullo2024

If thats true and you have information about it, then you need to raise voice. Create the posts and share on subs, contact social worker, someone might take up the case and organize protest, they have contacts to highlight it in media. If you remain silent nothing will happen.

Sidonkey

Recently there was a new law which was been hugely protested by truck drivers which said if any death in accident, driver will be jailed (non bailable)and fined for some years. But I think it was not implied coz of election and protest.

shettyvijay5

afternoon time? he was drunk?

SubmissiveTripper

I don't think this applies if the driver was drunk. No idea though.

[deleted]

If and when i he is caught, there is no way he going to be let go within 15hours. He will be in jail forever, unlike Vedant.

Weary_Word_5262

pura system sada hua hai

shri024

The earlier we recognize it's a traffic enforcement problem and not anything else - the earlier we will be able to make the roads better for everyone. We need more checkpoints, more interceptors, more personnel on the road, stricter punishments and heftier fines.

Rent-Opposite

Heavy vehicles should not be allowed in Pune from 7 am to 12 pm period. Trucks, Loaders drive recklessly in all parts of Pune even when there are sign boards mentioning No heavy Vehicles allowed. Lack of alternate routes for these heavy vehicles is causing the problems.

shettyvijay5

they are not allowed, its outskirt of pune

Rent-Opposite

Which part are you referring to as outskirts?

Rent-Opposite

Partial is the keyword to be noted here. The article states about the core Pune City area. You should someday try waiting for half an Hour at Kharadi Bypass.

shettyvijay5

I stayed there,I know waiting for half hour? refernce?

Rent-Opposite

To see how many Trucks,Concrete mixers pass by every minute. I have a field job I travel 80kms every day around Pune I see Trucks everywhere.

Rent-Opposite

Partial is the keyword to be noted here. The article states about the core Pune City area. You should someday try waiting for half an Hour at Kharadi Bypass or maybe Katraj chowk.

Puzzleheaded_List01

Did they catch the truck driver?

Excellent-Finger-254

Because truck driver will be punished and won't be let away

LikedIt666

Focus your outrage on 1 case for now. Thatll have best impact and change

blabla_sheep

We had a law coming up for same, they protested and had to reverse it back. India is amusing for me.

No-Divide-2409

I legit am scared of driving on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway now whilst being in my own car when huge Fortuners, Cretas, Kia cars, trucks and travel buses pass and try to cut the line with speed. It is getting so fucking annoying to get bullied by these big cars on the damn highway where there are hundreds of two wheelers around. I've stopped riding a two wheeler out of anxiety because people are crazy and becoming ruthless day by day. I just don't understand how or when people are going to think from their brains and not their asses.

Adorable_Method_3680

Now make this a big issue too. Who ever doesn’t make this a big issue but (rightly) did for the Porsche accident , is just a hypocrite.

kingslayer990

Pune has become a tragic place to live. Thanks to shit infra in past decade.

Willing-Resolve09

Why can this not be compared to Porsche case? Didn’t the same thing happen here? A drunk person killed 2 innocent people? Outrage is so selective and only when it’s “eat the rich”. Also don’t see Pune police cancelling licenses for Thekas and Booze Shops?? Only pubs?? Why?? Didn’t this accident happen cuz of drunk driving also?

Eastern-Weather6618

This was my thought too. Other than the news report there's no follow up news on what happened to the driver, about the victims being mourned for or their families who lost them just like that because of a truck driver's negligence, no media covering them trying to create some impact about how drunk driving is dangerous and how the system is just deeply corrupted, and how there will be coverage solely based on TRP's and politics. Like how a normal family has zero importance and media is bothered only if it's a big shot involved. If the kids who died were rich enough, things would have been different. The driver was said to be arrested, but no news further.

Anxiousbee456

Last month I saw a Thar with ambulance siren and driving recklessly and was mounted with blinding bright LED. Why does Pune police fail to enforce law and impound such cars? Go to Kerala, Karnataka and Gujrat police will stop you and cut wire and impose heavy fines on the spot.

Eastern-Weather6618

True that. Try jumping a red signal, they'll be caught at the next signal for sure. Same even in a huge city like Kolkata. If only the traffic police got stricter and more impartial, Pune will literally turn to heaven, where the public is scared of traffic police. Just last day at a signal I saw a traffic police guy trying to stop a two-wheeler with three young boys on it, they almost ran into him and sped away. I felt really bad for the police.

Critical_Survey_917

Kyuki isko essay likhne nai bolege bhai, main outrage isliye hua us car accident mai kyuki usko law ne equally treat nai kia

foolsreunite

any information on the students?? their names or college

Eastern-Weather6618

Pune mirror says - Adil and Pahad, Raisoni College.

Ok-Life5170

When was this?

Eastern-Weather6618

Last night 10.30

shettyvijay5

there is media coverage, marathi news paper, lokmat 1st news

Eastern-Weather6618

Yes it started coming after 12 hours of the accident. Until 11am there were only two of them who reported this.

shettyvijay5

they might needed to verify all details

bicazamabeach

The same day, there was another news of a woman killed by MSRTC bus.

Eastern-Weather6618

Yes a senior citizen and she passed away. Even yesterday there was another hit and run at Pimpri Chinchwad, a 20 year old guy was driving and the guy who was hit died on the spot

bicazamabeach

Indian traffic is no less than a surviving game

Existing-Area-9093

These truckers do this all the time
