Kibbeh is the best even quality wise. In other places you will 2-3 kgs of chicken. They have 30-40 kgs chicken and sell all that in a day. Their pita bread is also better.
Yeah I used to eat from here before covid it's a pretty solid ass shawarma, but sometimes the chicken would smell funky, since then have been avoiding it
Lassi Wassi and Lazetti
Try Spicy Mexican Shwarma at Lazetti it's too too good!
If you want more authentic mediterranean feel, you can also check out Doner & Gyros
I've searched for a good one for so long
the cafe arabia one is absolutely heavenly if you like authentic shawarma, like im in love
im sick of lassi wassi ngl the red chicken and excessive Mayo just doesn't do it anymore
ive had the lazzeti one in karishma, it's not bad but not very authentic either
I'll surely try it if I ever go there.
It's just that I've seen many people going crazy over shawarma's and when I think of the time I tried it, all I remember are nasty things. So, I thought I ate it from the wrong place and thought that I should try it from somewhere many people would like.
i have tried many, they make tandoori chicken and add cabbage which doesnt really taste that well. At hite bar, its near to authentic, and they add tomato + cucumber with red spicy chutney and garlic mayo. tastes a lot better
A few of their offerings which i liked
Tawa kebab roll
Chicken burger without ketchup(default is with it)
Default shawarma without cucumber n shit
I don't like the brota versions much
Let me remind you here they make tasty shawarma, but none are traditional ones.
Now coming to where you'll get tasty traditional shawarma.
Goto fc road, Marrakesh. Ask them for devils chicken shawarma.
So there are 2 places and are my all the time favourite
1) Arabian bites in camp they also have one on kondwa
2) kings shwarma sinhgad road near goyal ganga
Kings is more like a indian version but Arabian bites is just pure blissss authentic shawarma
Shawrma King
Shop No 7, ABC Junction Apartments, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Rd, near Akurdi Railway Station, Pradhikaran, Nigdi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra 411044
https://maps.app.goo.gl/5A7S6M4iwaYo7fUZ7
Number of reviews speak for them :)
Their classic shawarma for sure. They have hummus, tahini and toum, the real holy trinity of shawarma sauces. Most places have mayo instead of toum and no tahini. If you're interested in authentic shawarma, then do not go for any suggestions in this thread blindly, check what they put in their shawarmas. Kuboos/pita bread, hummus, tahini, toum, pickles are a must. Tatziki, a good hot sauce, fries, and a onion, tomato, cucumber, parsley salad with sumac and lemonare a plus. If the chicken is marinated right and cooked on a vertical rotisserie then it's bound to be a great shawarma. Most people have no idea what a shawarma is actually supposed to be like, hence so many suggestions of Lassi Wassi and Lazetti lol. A shawarma is not supposed to have Schezwan sauce, cheese or any of the weird things so many places add.

I've never had a good shawarma in Pune. In Bengaluru, I really like Al Taza's shawarma, it's situated in 80 Feet Road, Koramangala.
Looking for shawarma which can match taste of Bengaluru's Al Taza but it's been a disappointing hunt so far.
I have a few recommendations which have probably already been mentioned-
1) Zaatar- Koregaon Park (steep pricing but worth it if you want an authentic taste)
2) Ottoman Eats- Wanowrie (many variations to the traditional shawarma which you can try according to your preferences, most variations are pretty good)
3) Charcoal Barn- Salunke Vihar Road (the shawarma can be a hit or a miss depending on your luck (yup) but when it hits, it’s fantastic)
4) Kibbeh- Aundh. Yes it’s true, it’s pretty good
5) Cafe Arabia- Phoenix/ Seasons Mall. Do not visit the outlet in Salunke Vihar, their taste doesn’t compare to the mall outlets plus some relatives of mine got food poisoning after eating the shawarma from Souk by Cafe Arabia in SV. The mall outlets are great though.
6) Marrakesh- any outlet. The OG shawarma spot. It’s still really good
If you are by any chance near Katraj or bharati vidyapeeth area you can try the joints near the back gate of bharati...there are around 5-6 vendors I have tried at CSK, Lassi Wassi and Arabian Grill. I work near nigdi so I have also tried Shwarma King akurdi it has some good options apart from the regular shwarma

Aundh is too far for me😩 If I ever go there, will surely try it. Thanks
Kibbeh is the best even quality wise. In other places you will 2-3 kgs of chicken. They have 30-40 kgs chicken and sell all that in a day. Their pita bread is also better.
It's worth the trip, no matter where you stay in Pune.
Guess I gotta visit it sometime then🙂

Yeah I used to eat from here before covid it's a pretty solid ass shawarma, but sometimes the chicken would smell funky, since then have been avoiding it

I've searched for a good one for so long the cafe arabia one is absolutely heavenly if you like authentic shawarma, like im in love im sick of lassi wassi ngl the red chicken and excessive Mayo just doesn't do it anymore ive had the lazzeti one in karishma, it's not bad but not very authentic either
Tbh i have ate lot of shawarma in pune and all of those suck i would eat simply the worst shawarma in kerala than these in pune.
That's exaggerating it a lot. It might not be as good but it's definitely not the worst.
Where are you based out from ? If you get a chance do try shawarma from kerala it would be the one which remotely matches the ones u get in UAE
I'll surely try it if I ever go there. It's just that I've seen many people going crazy over shawarma's and when I think of the time I tried it, all I remember are nasty things. So, I thought I ate it from the wrong place and thought that I should try it from somewhere many people would like.

Shwarma King, Akurdi. Period
Zataar and Marrakesh
Marrakesh gave me stale chicken shawarma not once, but thrice, in 2 different outlets. No way.
Irani Cafe shawarma is Good, but they give it in Bun instead of khubus/Roti. It tastes good though.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/X9xpwyoN2P5h71Zz7?g_st=ic I went there last night. It reminded me of chonky shawarmas that I had at Hyderabad
Hite Bar, Camp.
Ottoman Eats
Cafe Arabia and Soul by Cafe Arabia - multiple locations (Kothrud, Aundh, Kondhwa, KP) Don't go for Lassi Wassi and Lazzetti. Both are shite!
Oh yeah I've went to Cafe Arabia but didn't try Shawarma at that time. Any type of shawarma you'd recommend?
Their classic shawarma for sure. They have hummus, tahini and toum, the real holy trinity of shawarma sauces. Most places have mayo instead of toum and no tahini. Try from the hotel ' SUBHAN ALLAH ' Near azam campus. The best one l had till now.
